  1. The ladies are 1 up at Sheffield United.
  2. I go with Port Vale, midweek, away in the cup. Arrived in Stoke and the coach got pulled over by the police. Ref was making a pitch inspection and the police were ready to turn us round but the game went ahead. We lost. Think Tommy Widdrington chipped the keeper but the ball stopped on the line because of the heavy rain!! People slipping and sliding getting in and out of the ground. Horrible away day!!
  3. Couple of other observations; Only eight teams have won more games than we have so far! Also, might be a little harsh but I thought JWP had one of his worst games for some time, he misplaced a number of simple passes and seemed to lose a lot of his direct duals, two things that I always feel are key parts of his game.
  4. Not a great performance but we battled and defended ok. We are short on confidence and that showed but getting three points was the mission. Thought Adams and Perraud played well and the defence stood firm with no clear chances for Bournemouth just lots of aimless shots. The lack of objectivity from those who are only focused on the manager getting sacked is pretty funny. On Saturday Ralph was criticised for not making a change quick enough despite West Ham really dominating. We were in the same position tonight and Ralph made the change that did improve our position in the game but the same people criticising him for making the change that he didn’t make quick enough Saturday. Bournemouth are unbeaten in 6 games and have received praise for there recent performances, we just beat them at their place but this win doesn’t count because ‘Ralph out’ Like every Saints fan I have been disappointed with how we have been playing recently, it was always going to take a hardworking, nervy performance for us to finally get the win and we did that tonight. I for one really hope Ralph can turn things round and get his mojo back. He has looked pretty defeated so far this season. Very happy with three points and hope we can kick on and now have a decent run up to the World Cup.
  5. Very interesting team. Also I’m very interested to know what shape we will use. Could work a 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or 4-2-2-2. Mmmm interesting.
  6. Just realised that after the Everton game we don’t have another 3pm Saturday game until 21st January, almost 4 months!!
  7. Just had a look at the table and the results the women have had so far. They have now played the top 3, 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss. Drew with Lewis too who have drawn their first four games. Considering going up a league, making so many changes to the team over the summer and the calibre of the opposition they have made a really positive start. Looks like they could be in and around the top of the table.
  8. Just back from the game. City looked top of the league first half. We couldn’t get playing in the first half and City played some good stuff. Started loads better second half, passed the ball around much better and scored a good goal. Could have won the game with some later chances but so could City. All said and done very good point for Saints.
  9. I loved Joe Jordan. One of my earliest memories of watching Saints was losing at home to Everton 2-0 and Joe scored. My friend Matt and I sang ‘there’s only one Joe Jordan’ for the rest of the game.
  10. ABK is a monster!!
  11. Just watched the interview with Ralph. Definitely seems to be talking about a known quantity. Taking everything else into account and then that video, I am now convinced that Borja will be signed. We have 8 games left before we have an alternative to KWP. Mousse has done well at LB but no back up at RB. Happy pretty much with the rest of the team but if we could sign a quality 10 I would be very happy with our summer’s work.
  12. Was just going to write the same. Morgan looked a decent player, some lovely passes for chances and goals. Diamond Edwards looks a player too, strong, carries the ball forward and sees a forward pass. Dom Ballard, seems to score goals whatever team he plays in. Scored a good poachers goal too but was offside, definitely looks to have a goal scorers instinct. Looking forward to seeing if these guys can develop over the next couple of years and have a positive impact on the first team. Great to see.
  13. That’s the one! Further from the earths core as it is very close to the equator. Not sure why I remembered it being in Columbia!
  14. No, the furthest point from the earths centre is a mountain in Columbia, can’t think what it’s called, begins with Q I think?!?
  15. Definitely sounded like Ralph was talking about a specific player. Was thinking, if he is sure this player is joining why hasn’t it happened yet, your suggestion would make some sense. Hopefully the player is as good as Ralph says we need, a difference maker in the box.
  16. That’s the spirit!! It was a very promising second half though.
  17. It’s the irony of such posts that I enjoy. This is from the guy who accuses other posters of being fake just to comment at him!!!
  18. You would imagine it was because he was only 18/19 and breaking in to a team that, it sounds like, weren’t struggling for goals. With our transfer policy as it is, buy young players to improve, this guy looks good. French U21, top scorer at a prestigious international youth tournament and played and scored in a top 5 league. When buying young players, his looks a decent CV. Wouldn’t mind seeing one more come in with a bit more experience, with a little bit more of a proven track record. Trouble is the price for that is so high, probably too high for us.
  19. I was thinking, good, a pen for AA to get a bit of confidence!
  20. Great photos. By the looks of it you were sat behind us. We were in the front row between the tunnel and the dugouts. We we’re stood only a few yards away from the team when they were celebrating and you could see two long, pretty bad cuts on Alisha Ware’s thigh. Deserved to be sent off. After the game all the players were coming over and signing things for the kids. I know it’s an obvious thing to say but, it’s so much more accessible, great for kids to engage with. My daughter really enjoyed getting involved with the singing, thanks to those who kept getting things going just behind us. Much better than the Wolves fans. Got to say I really enjoyed watching the game too, as a fan, it really felt like watching a Saints team. Really enjoyable day and great to be cheering when the trophy was lifted!
  21. Really enjoyable day out. My little girl said ‘best match ever’. She loved it. Getting to chat to all the girls after was great. Whole team signed her scarf and Sophia signed the match ball that I currently have in my rucksack. hopefully we will see some decent coverage from the club next year. We have a team to compete in the championship, back to back promotions?
  22. I am but it sounds more exciting if I say Manchester! really looking forward to it though, watching a Saints team playing in a high stakes game will be fun. My daughter is very excited.
  23. I’m going, we’re in block E. going to make a weekend of it with my little one. Weekend out in Manchester, looking forward to it.
  24. Would be interesting to know who was a better outfield player out of Kelvin Davis and Jose Mourinho.
