  1. Anybody see what happened to the guy outside Varsity after the match? Walked past at about 5.30 and he was on the pavement being looked over by paramedics, his face wasn't in a great way.....looked like a Sunderland fan but I could be wrong.
  2. Couldn't understand why at 6"2 Wanyama was on the edge of the box marking Johnson, and the likes of Lallana were in the box.....
  3. It may just be me, but from my view in the Kingsland it looked like the pitch had been narrowed slightly from last season - can anyone confirm? Would make sense considering we're not playing with as much width as we were under Adkins last season.
  4. I don't think I can add anything that hasn't already been said. A brilliant improvement for the spine of our team - three players with Champions League experience is something a majority of teams in the league could dream of (including one Arsenal based team who themselves have qualified for the competition this year). Anything else in the next couple of weeks would just be a bonus..
  5. Very good finish by Sinclair - it's been an entertaining opening 25mins!
  6. Guy on ***tter saying St Mary's is apparently 'shut' today as they are doing some hawk eye testing. Plus I'm pretty sure the club photographer put on Twitter this afternoon that he was on the way to the Welling match...
  7. I do find it odd that Yoshi hasn't had a run out yet. Granted he's a bit behind the others, but surely not to the point where he can't even make the bench for a friendly?
  8. Was thinking this the other day, the 'where are they now' for our young players that season is quite depressing. I've full confidence that our academy players will now only move to the first team when they're ready - hence the likes of Isgrove are now stepping up just a few months before his 21st birthday, rather than forced through at 18.
  9. A quick Google search doesn't bring up anything for 'Dean Hammond Ipswich' so it's unlikely to be a youth player of theirs..
  10. £15 for adults would probably be more appropriate, but £18 for a friendly against a team in the Champs League isn't too bad. Kids under 11 for free is a nice touch IMO.
  11. If you don't think the correct answer is 4,1,3,2 then you have a screw loose.
  12. Rumours that Norwich are interested in Quagliarella, would be a great addition IMO, must be 3rd or 4th choice at Juve now so there's a deal there to be done if a club wants it...
  13. He'd be a cracking signing on a free. If it meant the end of Jos & Jose, then we should be able to recoup about £5million in transfer fees by selling them both Also links on Twitter to a young Italian striker called Ciro Immobile from Genoa....he was apparently part of the Italy U21 squad this summer, but can't say that I've heard of him.
  14. Probably because if they get him & Gomez then they won't be chasing Damiao.
  15. Entertaining? Yes Taking him seriously? No chance
  16. In an ideal world we'd have someone like Kyle Naughton who can play at both left back & right back. However players like that are likely to come at a premium as it is unusual to have a player who is comfy in both full back positions.
  17. Can't believe we're on the second page & nobody has mentioned his son yet, maybe we're finally over it.
  18. From what I remember he was training with us for a few weeks before the signing was announced....so we'd already had a good look at him up close and still decided to sign him - how things have changed!
  19. Clever by Cortese. Bids for Damiao with no interest in signing him, just to hurry Spurs into a bid. Spurs get their man which makes Defoe available for transfer, and in swoops Nicola to get the man who was his #1 target all along
  20. Saw him linked on Twitter - supposedly a strong, energetic ball winning midfielder. I recall Everton previously showing interest in him. Would be a good signing but due to the source who knows what to believe. The same guy on Twitter also linked Cork with Spurs as a replacement for Parker, and that Sharp will be joining Reading in the next 10 days....
  21. He'd be a breathtaking signing - the only issue I have with transfer leaks like this though is that it's probably the agents way of generating interest from bigger clubs (not saying that we haven't actually bid for him though)
  22. Not expecting the player to be announced alongside the kit at 9am, but find it plausible we announce a signing around 3pm, with the new player in the new shirt.
  23. Forgot about that!
  24. £12million is a hell of a lot for a player that could be better than Cork, but unlikely to be an improvement on Morgan. Overall would have to say I'd rather Banega, taking into account the fee, the level they've already proven themselves at, their ability & their potential. Saying that I do have faith in the transfer committee, so lets see what materializes...it's certainly more exciting than hearing of N'Guessan & Forte signing!
