Believe it was organised by Hammond, and picked Brighton because he obviously knows the area well etc
-
Pardew never actually said on Solent that we're not after anymore players...he cleverly turned the question around by stating that due to our financial power in this league, then we have no need to sell players before Tuesday. Could well still be after Danns then!

One Wayne Bridge ...theres only one Wayne Bridge

Phillips wife wasn't (allegedly) the most faithful to her husband...hence the taunting he gets whenever he comes to SMS! -
His latest Twitter is that he's "very disappointed", possibly jumping the gun here but lets hope it's not due to the deal to us falling through!
-
The televised game from Saturday was 12.45, I can see it being the same again. Pretty sure the last time we played them at home (when Blackstock got the winner) that it was played at this time.
-
Seemed to do alright, but at the same time nothing that Wotton/James can't do. Wouldn't mind him sticking around, but at the same time would instantly trade him in for a Danns/Stock type player.
-
The way he said "certainly one more" seemed to me that the option was there for a 2nd further signing if needs be...although personally I'd rather us get another midfielder in and then use the loan market as/when required.

Hello guys, have heard whispers about our interest in Swansea's Leon Britton. Skillful midfielder whose contract is up at the end of the season. Have read more concrete stuff that he's in discussions with Cardiff to sign a pre-contract agreement, but who knows. Would certainly be what we're after.

The Ward deals dead - But are we after another Coventry player?

Only player I could think of was Saga going to them, and considering we're so desperate to get rid of him, couldn't really see it being him IMO. -
There flight doesn't get in until 8pm this evening, so nothing at all will be organised until at least tomorrow. I reckon we could be waiting for the dreaded Friday news again!

http://www.truefootball.com/team_southampton_jersey.htm Seems as if he did used to have the 23 shirt. Case closed then? Possibly?!
-
Odd that he was #23, as that squad number is already occupied at both Forest and Brighton (if indeed it was an accidental crossover of information).
-
Could have sworn I saw Lallana out in Bmouth last night. If not, he has an impeccable lookalike!
-
Merry Christmas to Ron, and fingers crossed for a lovely 2010 that will hopefully at some point see him visit SMS!
-
The first leg is played week commencing Jan 18th, and the second leg w/c Feb 15th. Final is on Sun March 28th if anyone wants to book it off work in advance...!
-
Funnily enough I'm in exactly the same situation...you don't live with me do you?
-
My Bournemouth supporting mates think exactly this, having said that he seems to be consistently finding the back of the net. IMO there are better options out there though, as has been mentioned, an out-of-favour Championship striker (not that I know any off the top of my head!)
-
Scored for them today away at Chester, however, the game got abandoned after 75mins due to a protest from the home supporters. All part of the learning curve I guess!!
-
Wasn't he their captain a couple of years ago? Would certainly fit the bill IMO.
-
That does seem to ring a bell, thought his first name was Russ for some reason, but Matt Robinson does sound about right!
-
Who was that Wilkinson lad we had? Had a bald head, believe he was a full back. Played a couple of games and seemingly disappeared from the world.
-
You looking for one in town? If so try Bedfords if you haven't already, they have Saints memorabilia on the wall so should at least be showing the blimmin game!
-
As for the goals, seem to remember from the last round that BBC have the rights to them, so I imagine some kind of highlight package of all the games will be put up online today.
-
Can see Mellis getting a start, other then that will probs be a near enough strongest XI.

The very first in a long line of a West Ham supporting family (my great great something-or-other was one of their founders/chairmen) to buck the trend and for some unknown reason support the Saints. I'm from Bournemouth so had no previous Soton links, but I think it was from watching MLT on Match of the Day that convinced me support the red and white.
