  1. Possibly Lallana if he were still 23, as we know Pearce does seem to rate him. However he'll be 24 by then, so I can't see them using one of the three over 23 places on him. If we take for granted Beckham has one of them, I'd guess the other two would be from one of the other GB countries, possibly Charlie Adam & Giggsy (clubs/countries permitting!).
  2. You've essentially summed up his performance away at Reading. Nothing for 80mins then set up Steeeeeeve perfectly for the equaliser.

    Chaplow

The fact he walked (hobbled) off rather than left the pitch on a stretcher is hopefully a sign that it isn't too serious.
  4. Think he had a trial at Reading during the summer. Not sure if Reading have got one of our ex youth coaches, seeing as they also got Fish during the same period.
  5. Probably cheaper in that case to get the National Express from Bmouth to Soton...works out cheaper for exactly the same journey time.
  6. Puncheon did a bit of a Q & A on his Twitter page earlier, with a few Saints related questions being banded around. *He stated David Connolly has been the most motivational player in his career *Lallana is the best Saints player (and the best player outside the Premier League) *His worst moment in football was playing for us at St Marys vs Rochdale (was this the game where he was booed everytime he blazed a shot over?) *Took a pay cut to go to QPR (info already out in the open) *Didn't join Blackpool in the summer because "they wouldn't pay the money Southampton wanted" *Said "who know's what the future holds" when asked if he'd return to Saints in January(!) Nothing too revolutionary overall, but all Saints related, so thought I'd share.
  7. All we need to do really (apart from sign Jos) is get a replacement for Connolly. Even then, he doesn't exactly need replacing asap, so I'd have thought we're best of waiting until the end of the season, that was [if]if[/i] we're promoted, the fact we're in the Premier League will give us a higher quality pool of players to choose from. I guess one possible loan signing (if needs be) could be someone like Mame Diouf at Man Utd, to add a bit of pace to the front line.
  8. If you've got i.d, go to the ticket office and explain the situation....more than likely they'll give you the benefit of the doubt and give you a repalcement for today.
  9. Weren't there rumours about six weeks ago of Chesterfield wanting him on loan?
  10. Was at their game yesterday vs Blackpool. Thought they looked weak at the back (furthermore Tompkins went off injured), and Taylor wasn't oo impressive down the wing. However, Diop was quite solid in the middle, Carew was involved in a lot of link up play, and Baldocks movement was very impressive (however, he did have a tendancy to slip offside a lot). If we can contain the front two, then I can certainly see us getting something from the game. I can also see Connolly scoring against his former club
  11. I'd certainly extend it until the end of the season, unless a genuine Prem-class defender became available (which is unlikey). He's played well enough to earn his place in the team, and probably wouldn't be worth the potential trouble of breaking up our central defensive partnership halfway through the season.
  12. England rofl.
  13. Guly definitely fits into this category, as I feel he's playing with slightly better team mates who can read quicker/better what he wants to do.
  14. Played very well again yesterday, top performance. My only slight gripe with him yesterday was needlessly being offside a couple of times (one he was a couple of yards off, the other he was on the right wing so could see he was off). However, in his midfield role he was brilliant.
  15. Sanchez Watt is just a younger version of Forte, doubt he'd really add much!
  16. Quite odd that he used to wear Everton replica shirts when he was 14/15 then..
  17. Lallana is a boyhood Everton fan aswell, thank God this didn't go through, as the Toffees are probably one of few clubs that could turn his head...
  18. Enjoyable read!
  19. He's 23, he was only eligible for the last campaign as he was 21 when it started.
  20. Surprise surprise, Leicester also rumoured to be after him!!
  21. Does the ticket tax exist for cup games? £14 + whatever that would be does seem a bit steep (although admittedly Torquay probably had more of an influence on ticket prices than we did).
  22. Does seem an odd way of wording it, wonder what the ins and outs of the deal really are? However, it's brilliant news, regardless.
  23. Don't think it'd work having another flair player such as Tevez playing in the same team as Lallana/De Ridder....we'd probably be better off with someone built like a tank, ie Neil Mellor or Gifton Noel-Williams. Now, hcdajfu.
  24. Doubt he'd come here to be a back up when he could get first team football at a few other Championship clubs.....would agree that hcdajfu though.
