£5k sounds suspiciously low.

Did anyone see SSN's piece on some fans recording a Pompy single for their trip to Wembley? I didn't watch it because it was bleating on about 'Arry.

Riquelme will be buying the club.

Ian Collins and Alan Hyde are great, but 90% of Talksport is aimed at Sun-reading Geezers.

2 reasons why hes not trying to untangle the books yet (IMO): - hes a skate in disguise and hes deliberately not wanting to do it while this cash cow is still milking... or - Storrie put 12 combination padlocks on the filing cabinet and Android has only guessed the combination to the first one

...the match thread on here got to 2-0 at half time, but was only a page long!

It appeared to have an image of an African person (maybe a child), with a name under it that I couldn't make out on telly.

Ditto, cheers for Markus, silence for Nicola. I posted about it during the match thread. If there were boos, then it would been from a tiny minority of those there.

Best day since Mark Fry annouced the takeover.

Anyone else notice the cheer when Markus was on the big screen...and how quiet it went for Nicola.... Garry Birtles saying how mad it was for the chairman putting un-needed pressure on the manager and squad by talking before matches. -
I would LOVE it if every single Pompy transfer since 2005 involved money being sent overseas to a secure account...LOVE it. Corrupt, penniless CHEATS.

Maybe O'Hara will score for Spuds....by being the latest incarnation of the prolific goalscorer, OG. Its just like The Stig!

Paying to get their player back? What exactly has Storrie put in all those loan contracts?!
-
Thats an interesting point, apart from 80 staff losing their jobs, what has changed (to the outside world)? Loanees certainly haven't been given their marching orders.

I saw it. Spoke to one greasy oik, something along the lines of: Reporter -''why are you wearing a red and pink scarf?'' Boy - ''its a protest against the owners....and....I like the colours'' Cut back to Mike Wedderburn and Alex Quinn trying to stop giggling.

Tried the demo on XBL, seems arcadey enough to be playable without being dumbed down. How deep is career mode?

Its academical now anyway, who would buy any Pompy players? The only quality they have, have been loaned in, so aren't Pompy players. And the rest are p*ss poor..thats why they are bottom of the Prem, even without the minus 9.

It looks like one of the skates sees the truth now: http://mypompey.com/blogs/goldenboot/archive/2010/03/21/boot-portsmouth-find-legal-loophole-to-stay-in-premier-league.aspx '' PompyPride wrote re: LegalBoot:Portsmouth to issue injunction and test restraint of trade to stay in Premier League? on Tue, Mar 23 2010 10:57 AM why havent the loanees gone back? why havent the highest earning players been released? why havent the fat from the squad been trimmed by Andronikou? its pompys fault we're in this mess. not the PL, not the fans, not the players. pompy got punished for gross mis-management. you didnt see all the customers protest HMRC when woolworths went to the wall. football is just another business and us fans have no right to complain about the laws of the game and the land, when its the club thats p****d all over those same rules, signing players they (we) couldn't afford, paying the CEO a massive wage when he was probably taking backhanders etc. look at harry and pompys deals with spurs....that looks sooooo goddamn dodgy pompy need to stay quiet or we're gonna be hit by more and more deductions when all the truth hits the fan. just like luton. pompy is my club, i will support them until i die, but that doesnt mean i can turn a blind eye to all the illegal activities the club has done (not certain people, the club as a whole).''

When I was claiming about 8 years, I was put forward for all kinds of wierd and stupid jobs that I didn't have a hope in hell of doing. I said I wanted to work in the customer service area, helping people with problems and queries they had. So you'd expect the customer service desk at Asda, Sainsburys, etc. However, in the 12 months I claimed, I was put forward for (I kid you not): a welders job at an engineering firm a landscape gardener a sous chef (can't cook) a catalogue collecter (I didn't even drive at the time, so lugging 200 Avon-type books...no chance) The closest was a bookmaker, even though I didn't have a great grasp of numbers above 100 (mild dyslexia, not a problem but I don't like numbers). Anyway, after turning them all down and saying to each that I couldn't do them as I'd have been unsuitable, they put me on something called New Deal, where they placed me with an agency that would put me into a business locally (subsidsed by the government), I'd work for them and at the end of the placement, I had the option of staying with them if there was room, or come back to searching. If I didn't like it, I would have to walk away and have my claim stopped. As I was climbing the walls with boredom, I accepted, and got placed at a local DIY store. Now, remember I said I wanted customer service? I told the agency thats what I wanted, and they arranged it with the DIY shop that I'd be on the help desk....but when I got there, they said they only had room in the garden centre...great, I was a gardener, just like I turned down before. I tried to get that changed with the agency, but they said it would stop my claim if I left. So, I stuck with it, until the penny dropped that I was working from 8-4 Monday to Friday, for the standard claim which was £45.50 a week I think. That means the DIY store was getting an employee for a a couple of months, working his backside off, for the grand total of £1.14 an hour, and I was expected to carry on my search for work in my own time. And when I complained to the agency that it was like slave labour, that they were benefitting from, I was told that the options were: to be placed with another business (same £1.14 an hour wage), or walk away which would cancel my benefits. I walked. Luckily, I found work not too long after through a friend.
