  1. I would suggest getting off the M4 at J44 onto the A48 and then taking a left at the bottom of the hill onto the A4217. Then take a right at the roundabout by Tesco and a left at the following roundabout This takes you onto Phoenix Way which is a light industrial estate. You could park anywhere there, but I would suggest parking in the Wyevale garden centre. The stadium is a 10 minute walk from there along Siemens Way and Nantong Way - when you get to the Supermarket on your right cut across to the stadium through the mini Mall area.
  2. Haha! I doubt it. My mum was good friends with the owners at the time. It was the Razor Ruddock era.
  3. Just reading the thread on the proposed new Eastleigh Stadium and noticed a reference to the Fleming Arms. My mum used to work there in the days when a few of the Saints team used to drink there on a regular basis. Anyone got any interesting anecdotes from those days?

  5. I think Big Ron as been very naive if he thought this wouldn't be picked up because the interview was in Dutch. Especially in the UK where the tabloids look to sensationalize anything to do with football. Whether it was said in a joking manner or not, the words used in response to the questions asked have the potential to destabilize the club in the media at what is a crucial point in the season. I expected Ron to be a bit more savvy with what he says in public - he must know by now how the UK media works, especially after the crucifixion of Mourinho this season. I can only conclude then that he is bringing pressure to bear on the club in his contract negotiations. Still bad form to have it out in the open like this.
  6. Sorry for no reply - out of the country ATM - back tomorrow if you're still interested?
  7. So no takers for my ticket?
  8. Anyone interested in a ticket for the game give me a pm.
  9. I see in the Telegraph Big Vic is down as Wenger's next target in this window FWIW http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/arsenal/12101047/Arsenal-transfer-news-and-rumours-live-Wanyama-number-one-target.html
  10. Unfortunately, yes.
  11. QED. So if does, would that be demonstrating consistency or obstinancy?
  12. I think if RK plays 3 at the back in this home game it will show he really has lost the plot. Square pegs, round holes, etc.
  13. You really are a despicable, slimy turd aren't you?
  14. I'm not arguing with that, more the point that our transfer strategy is to buy in players to slot into the 4-3-3 style of play, who then look like fish out of water when we use alternative formations. Can't say that either RK or LVG have impressed with the 3 at the back formation. Fans used to bemoan Poch for not having a Plan B, but at least the players were comfortable with the formation, and replacements slotted in seamlessly. Can't say the same at the moment IMO
  15. I thought the "Southampton Way" involved playing 4-3-3 throughout the club, from the youngsters through the under 18's, under 21's and 1st team. Well, watching the under 21's midweek it looks as though this is still the case, but RK seems to have completely ditched that strategy in the 1st team. If the Black Box is identified player acquisitions to fit our 4-3-3 formation, is it any wonder we are struggling if RK isn't adhering to this?
  16. That would be the Ronald Koeman who doesn't know his best players, best formation, or best tactics. that Ron Koeman?
  17. Talk is cheap. I got the impression from the article that Ronald is doing a bit of firefighting. "They like to continue and make a good season..." well, Ronald that doesn't really tally with what we've seen on the pitch so far. Still, here's hoping he has kicked butt and we have a better second half to the season.
  18. Thought Little had a cracking game in midfield.
  19. I agree with this. No matter that the club is in the best of health - this season has been poor; the team don't look cohesive; we don't play with the same intensity or stamina. What happened to the Southampton Way? I guess its been hijacked by Spurs and Boscombe.
  20. I like your positivity. However, I reiterate that Ronald has to turn this around pronto. We have a sihtty Christmas period coming up, and frankly I can't see us getting any points before the New Year. To do a Dalek, we will be 19 points off safety going into the second half of the season; the team have been inconsistent all season, and currently look ready to implode every time their heads drop. The other teams in the middle of the pack have all been much more consistent than us so far, so I think we will have a real challenge getting into the top half of this division again this season. So, in response to your positive post about battling Leicester for 7th come May 2016 - Nah, can't see it.
  21. Nothing wrong with finishing 13th in the Premier League, but it would trash Ronald's reputation. For his own sake, he needs to get us back in the top 3rd of the division. Otherwise I can see his career going the same way as Martin Jol.
  22. Even if it means weakening the starting 11? That's very brave. Have we got 40 points already? No, you play your strongest team, and that doesn't include JWP at the moment.
  23. Doesn't he have to get back in the First 11 first?
  24. Hats of to JWP, best game I've seen from him... He now needs to stay at that level and I'll be very happy. Thought we looked back to where we need to be today-kept the ball down and sprayed some lovely balls to the wingmen. Seems like big Vic may find it hard to get back into that team...
  25. Just can't get my head round why the club leave signings in crucial positions so late in the transfer window? They have known since the Toby deal fell through that they needed to get a high quality CB in and yet, here we are, two and a half days away from the closure of the window, and they still haven't got anyone in. How can RK get the team set up for the start of the season when there are clear holes in our 1st 11? Doesn't the almighty Les understand the importance of getting the team settled yet? How long has he been in football? The Board seem quite sanguine about sacrificing the start of the season and the qualifying of the Eoropa - for what? Saving pennies in the grand scheme of things. Have to say we come across as amateurish in our transfer dealings - AGAIN! Every transfer window has been the same for years - we **** about and then end up in a panic on the last day. as for the fabled Black Box.....what a joke.
