  1. Is it news yet? Or rumour?
  2. Sounds great.....Saints v Reading is the first game I can get to, but I think the kids will be back in Chernobyl by then.
  3. We are looking after 2 kids from Chernobyl and my wife whilst I was out, thought it would be a good idea to get the tent erected. So when I got back I did my best to sort out what they had done.......but I could not figure it out. They had the sides up and not the poles that cross over... I might try to work on the tent later. The kids from Chernobyl are about to go bowling......and then on to nature reserve. I want to get them to St Mary's before they leave and get them a Saints shirt.....they like footy.
  4. Hi team. We have such a tent and last used it 4 years ago and in the intervening years the instructions on how to pitch it have disappeared. We have tried and failed to pitch it, tried searching the web for instructions but no luck. Does anyone out there have one of these tents with instructions? It would be brilliant if some one did!
  5. I would say that she'll be working for the government and yet she'll need to knock up a large debt to gain the education/qualification she needs. I have a lot of respect for public service employees. £23K a year is a paltry salary. How does a male teacher buy a house etc on a salary like that. I can't recall the last time I earned less than £30K a year
  6. My daughter wants to teach, she will start on a salary of £23K....less than a third of what I earn for doing a very much more worthwhile job
  7. I have bought an m-audio Oxygen25, a steinberg CI2 and I have a free copy of Cubase AI5. This is allegedly pretty standard music hardware and software but I can't get t to work. I have installed the Cubase software, tools for CI2, Steinberg etc....still no joy. Does anyone out there own this software/hardware? Any ideas or suggestions.
  8. The lack of evidence in terms of forensics allowed the possibility of some one else being involved. As some one else has said I was not in court every day so I don't know details. I guess we will learn all about Roger now, he has a colourful past according to a poster on here.
  9. Having followed the trial the conclusion I came to was I don't think there was enough evidence to say that beyond reasonable doubt he did it.
  10. Dell days you unintentionally made me burst out laughing You must not own up to writing crap Have a nice weekend
  11. Your last paragraph (apart from taxing the very richest which I concede was a nasty policy)) is a joke right? Education standards have fallen? For everybody? The Utilities are better now than they were back then? Tosh, complete tosh, IMHO
  12. Come on then give me the second side?
  13. Nick, I intend doing the same....
  14. Are you talking about the management or the strikers?
  15. My 16 year old's favourite group is the Beatles....her fave songs are I am the Walrus, Come Together and Revolution. I do think the Beatles music will last forever. I have 2 cases full of prerecorded cassettes in the garage.
  16. I can't argue with any of that....
  17. I have seen Vodafone in the UK lose 5% of staff a year for the last 3 years. Same at HP upon occasion.....
  18. You have to ask yourself how anyone serving meals should be paid that. What have the management been doing? There must be a better way to reduce the costs other than an outright confrontation. natural wastage, early retirement, compulsory redundancy etc. Not sackings and strikes. Do you not see this? The workers should never have been allowed to earn as much as that (if it is a true figure)
  19. Are you saying that ALL staff earn £56K a year. I would be a very concerned shareholder if I thought that was the case. I would replace management as a first remedial step. I suspect the quote has been doctored and most likely the words "some staff" has been ommitted. It suits the Mail's purpose. Once again, I am against the strike
  20. If wages are to high, offer early retirement or compulsory redundancy for those high earners and anyone who wants to leave, its cheaper than breaking the union by a large margin
  21. I am not sure you get the truth in the Mail, Buctootim.
  22. That's what soldiers sign up for, Stu. Trolley dollies sign up under different terms and conditions
  23. I wsn't suggesting that what BA did was illegal. I have a reasonable grasp of employment law. From an outsider's point of view it seemed a petty thing to do, unless it served their purpose to antagonise their workforce. Its a costly thing to do. It does look as if this is a policy of union breaking.
  24. Stu the staff are working for the salaries stipulated by management. If you think these rates are too high who would you blame? Some one for applying for the job or whomever it was who set the rates for each particular role in the first place?
  25. Your bonus scheme didn't change because you went on strike though did it? Striking is legal in this country isn't it? Many of us have lost out at work, I did during my time at HP and I have done at Vodafone. I didn't lose out because I went on strike I hope shareholders don't support Willie Walsh in this. They are the only hope, somehow I think they did support him but I reckon this could be changing
