Back in the dark days our club was fighting for its life...I was happy to stand by them. The situation is different, we have had some superb football in previous years and even when we have lost I have generally gone home thinking that as a team, we'd done our best. I don't think like that these days. Rotation has most of the time, produced some awful football...do I want to watch a game that we are losing whilst we have better players on the bench who probably could have turned out? Am I expected to make a 200 mile round trip to watch a weakened team play such negative footy? The club has known that our defensive partnership was/is leaving and has not replaced either of them and that is a shocking state of affairs. I hope Andy Carroll (not to mention Michail Antonio) has an off day on Saturday but if he doesn't, we will be ****ed. An awful lot rests on Boufal..

The facts are these....we are not scoring goals, the service to the forwards is poor and our defence has a depleted look about it. I fear for us in the coming weeks without any defensive recruitment. Is Jack Stephens the future, perhaps the club should tell us. I have been mightily ****** off for a while now, I am not renewing my season ticket and will sit in the stands at Wembley hoping against hope. I was a season ticket holder before and throughout the very, very bad days. This situation seems self inflicted, it was apparent to me during preseason that supply to the front men had dried up somewhat and so it has proved.

God help us.....

Great post whitey....this is the FA cup and I could not believe the team selection and it's a serious question. I remember being excited the day before the FA cup final in the late 60s and beyond. Most of my class mates felt the same. What has happened? Why not withdraw from the cup? This would send a message to the greedy buggers who are making the teams play so often that enough us enough. I didn't go yesterday (minimum of 5 hours in the car there and back) and I could not bring myself to watch it. I am very, very disappointed with Saints and with football for allowing this situation to arise. At the root of it is greed with the premier league being awash with cash.

A heartwarming story mate.... -
Calm is called for. I am more angry about the West Brom match and the decision to rest 6 players. I am not supposed to drive 90 odd miles to watch a weakened team. I was not expecting too much today.....

Brilliant!!!

A27 closed at Worthing due ti a road traffic accident so I gave up trying to get to the game and went home....At kick off time I had to leave the house as I can't listen to any commentary on Saints. Too scared to look at the result till just now, delighted with a point. Well done Saints.....a point gained.

Been away for a few days...I am a fan of Keith Emerson. Saw ELP in the 1970's at the Gaumont.

I hold the view that the main posters on this site are thick...the discussion on Long illustrates it perfectly.

Jeremy Hunt and the demonisation of the NHS
Seaford Saint replied to Sheaf Saint's topic in The Lounge
https://tompride.wordpress.com/2016/02/12/jeremy-hunt-timeline-of-shame/ In 2009, Hunt had to repay £9,500 of taxpayers’ cash in claims for his second home expenses. In 2010, Hunt gave a civil service job to the daughter of a friend – a Conservative Lord who’d been the director of one of Hunt’s companies. In 2010, as Sports Minister Hunt blamed ‘hooligans’ for the 1989 Hillsborough disaster – in which 97 Liverpool fans died, a third of them children or teenagers. In 2010, Hunt was caught hiding behind a tree trying to avoid being spotted going into a private dinner with the Murdoch’s. In 2012, Hunt and his advisors were caught leaking sensitive information to Rupert Murdoch’s office when Hunt was supposed to be handling the company’s bid to take over BSkyB. In 2012, Hunt was caught dodging more than £100,000 in tax in a property deal. In 2012, Hunt was in charge of the Olympics security fiasco, in which he paid millions of taxpayers’ money to private company G4S who were so incompetent the army and police had to step in. In 2013, the British Medical Association said Hunt displayed “complete ignorance” after saying he thought the abortion limit should be changed to 12 weeks. In 2013, Hunt used £4,000 of taxpayers’ money to pay for language lessons so he could learn his Chinese lover’s lingo. In 2016, thousands of junior doctors plan to quit NHS after Hunt imposes new contracts -
Daily Mail quotes the same £7million transfer fee. I see he scored last night, he appears to be settling in OK.

For some people like me, music is and has always been the most important hobby/pastime in their lives...I have always had a top of the range hifi at home and in the car....Love listening to live music...I had an enviable music collection of LPs (now given to charity) and I have built up a sizeable CD collection. Bowie was part of that pastime from 1969 onwards when I heard and bought the Space Oddity single....and onwards. I will play Bowie's best of when I make my 2 hour drive to watch Saints tomorrow night....in my acoustically treated car...Bowie played LOUD in the car is a joy. It just so happens that I played Ziggy Stardust at home last week and the CD is still in the player and it might get a spin when I get back from my guitar and music lesson. If you don't have music in your life.....err what kind of life is that? (not entirely serious question)
-
Thanks for the insight Batman, have you thought about going into politics?
-
Apologies, I was affected by the news Bowie's passing when I read your message and I overreacted.
-
Maybe just once you could refrain from spoiling a thread like this....a lot of us grew up with Bowie, bought the albums, loved the music, saw the man live, are able to chart our lives linking events in our lives to some of his songs. Go and hide under stone for a few days.
-
Just read the news....not many days pass when I don't stick some Bowie on in the car. Only last week when I was listening to Ziggy Stardust my wife wanted to know who it was..gutted

I did not alter the quote but cut and paste something I read...the perils of the internet, sadly.
