We should be too strong for Brighton.....2 nil Saints
-
Agree with all that and I'd add that the club appears to be run more as an investment business than it is as a football club. I haven't seen any praise for Reed in overseeing the good bit of business Van Dijk was for the club. However, using some of the £75 million on 2 or 3 good signings should change things.....if the current manager can get the best out of them, integrate them into the team. A BIG if!!!

I couldn't stand it, I had to go out for a walk for the last 9 minutes.....great point gained..I can carry on drinking now.

Thankyou

Me in an empty room with Saintsweb, the Saints commentary whispering Dave, and a bottle of Campo Viejo rioja .......I have told the wife I might be gone for a long time.

Come on Mr Monk....you are closer to the club than most of us. Are you able to add anything (truthful) to this thread.
-
Time and again Pelle would move onto the shoulder of a defender or position himself waiting for a ball to run onto only for our midfielders to not spot the potential pass.....he must have been mightily ****ed off as it happened so often. I thought he was quality!

I am in shock....

I guess the answer is to earn enough money to have private health care, to pay for your education, have your own private police force and live in a gated community patrolled by security....oh and **** the rest of society..

It was just a few Greeks who were bribed...not the millions of Greeks, who started the demise of Greece.

From the Telegraph January 2017 ......"Banks and businesses have taken full advantage of the Bank of England’s quantitative easing scheme rolled out last year, borrowing far more than anticipated from the central bank. The Bank of England bought £4.9bn of corporate bonds in just three months, when the scheme intended to buy £10bn over 18 months. At the same time the Term Funding Scheme (TFS) which gives cheap funds to banks has injected £20.7bn into lenders. The aim of both policies, alongside a plan to buy £60bn of government bonds, was to keep interest rates down." Is this how you think we should build a successful economy?

Yes I am serious....real wages have fallen by 14% since 2008. Student debt is crippling for many. Other ex students are finding that wages are too low for them to live independently and are staying with parents.

The kids have the chance to see their debt wiped out and vote Labour...the rich see the chance of further tax breaks and vote Conservative. I am not sure the kids even if they are made to pay for the mistake of voting Labour can have much more debt placed upon them. They are already paying for Tory excesses...

If another election is held what would the result be this time.......? From my viewpoint the stranglehold by the majority of the press of a particularly negative view of Corbyn is broken. He might actually win....

Roger is indeed no more....loved the Saint and still watch it. May he rest in peace.

Better than Everton?

Good question.....not sure I know the answer. We have a £50 million rated centre half that we are about to cash in. He was not a loss in quality in comparison to Lovren and Alderweireld when he came in. He was already quality, Chris Sutton was raving about him at the time we signed him and it was not luck. I am inclined to say the Southampton Way is a bit of myth, like the Black Box.....it's a slogan, useful for marketing but not much more. The club is run as a business and buying and selling as we have done is risky...I worry about us next year.

Are you saying that the way things are, namely all I have mentioned in my post above is the only path for us? We can't change anything and Tories have got everything right? Haven't the Tories just doubled the national debt using money trees (your terminology)?

I'm with Corbyn and Labour - there is only so much money and his proposed redistribution of the riches we produce strikes a chord with me. My house has gone up £200k in 2 years and we are comfortable. But there are a lot people on zero hours contracts who are not comfortable, there are a lot of very low wage earners...the minimum wage figure has become the agreed pay rate in many industries. Having been a higher tax earner throughout most of my life I never begrudged paying the taxes I paid. I would like a nationalised railway, nationalised power companies, NHS to remain free of private companies. I would like to see thousands of new homes and council houses.

Not renewing, I now live too far away.....my son has moved even further away and has to do maintenance on production machines on Saturdays. The end of an era for us...he's been a season ticket holder since the age of 4. We'll go to more away games and I can stay at his house. A number of season ticket holders around me are not renewing due to age/infirmity or work/personal commitments.

Come on Verbal...can you prove it was the Syrian army? Show us your proof....

Do you mean that a lot of our fanbase are scum?

To lastman73 Having to interface with people like you are the reason I don't bother with away matches. You sound entitled, rude and thoughtless. I had a couple of people just like you in front of me. I ended standing whenever they did. They were really into the footy as was I, and I didn't begrudge them at all. It would have been different for me, if I was unable to stand as there was no way they could have sat down and my day would have been ruined. Your assertion that no one throws a punch is laughable.

Sums up my thoughts too.....

Your intelligence appears limited....it is not bravery. I will always support Saints but no amount of money and time will be spent by me watching a team severely weakened by rotation. The FA cup was and is a wonderful competition and what did we as a club do? Enough said.
