It is possible that we are in a different demographic but I haven't met a single so called plastic fan, there are a few fans in the office, lots and lots in Tadley where my son still lives, none could be describes as plastic. I was struck at the number of empty seats at the Majeski on the few times I had been there and I know that a sizable proportion of people bought seats to make sure that they had access to premier football matches in the manner in which you describe. These are not fans, I guess they are opportunists. Obviously this disappoints the proper Reading fans too. I don't think it's right to mix the two sets of supporters up. One last thing, my son and I did not miss a game even in the days of Lloyd James and co...what happened to the 12000 to 14000 so called fans we had in the Premier who didn't watch the Saints on occasions post relegation....I know that the attendances picked up but the stadium looked a sorry state with 4 corners closed etc. Could it be taht we have our own plastic fans too. My wife will take her kids to Arsenal this weekend.....to cheer Reading on. I can't knock it...there's nothing plastic about it, just dedication and passion.

I can if I want sit next to my Reading supporting wife...using her son's ticket. I hadn't planned on doing this but I am thinking about this now that Nigel is their manager. There is an awful lot of snobbery on here about Reading fans, most of whichgiven that I know loads of them is complete tosh. Fact is all clubs continually attract fans otherwise they would all go bust....in 1966 I wanted to see what the fuss was about and got to the Dell and was an ever present (Saturday job permitting) for years until Uni 12 years later..in 2006 my wife's daughter was given free tickets and my wife took he along and they both got hooked. They now go to games home and away and are as committed as anyone on here. I know loads like them who have joined in a similar fashion. It starts as a family day out and then it changes.

It is a story to be honest, not much looking required. I really hope he does well there and I think he will. Will we regret sacking Adkins I think we will in time. I can't stop supporting my club but I would say European footie is not a priority for me. A football club that I can feel part of and relate to, comes first and foremost and sacking Adkins, bringing in Poch and then talking about stadium expansion European footie worries me. A club that respects its fans...well I think that might have gone too. We'll see. Touble is I think the same may be true at Reading as well.

That's the team I'd pick.....

Fully agree with this quote

I think the OP is on to something. I speak as someone who has spent 1000's on hifi and music....I still love it. I have wandered around the HMV in Newbury as it sells off everything. I do feel really sad to see the shop being dismantled stripped etc. The youngsters will find other pastimes and my son will be playing Led Zep, Clapton etc As there isn't much of quality around any more.

My wife and her kids, committed Reading fans, mentioned how empty the ground was with 10 minutes to go. I must admit that I thought Reading would win.....the Mrs is mystified why Kebe their most creative player was taken off.

What is your favourite food... "on toast"

Bruscetta not sure of the spelling...lovely -
I wanted to offer a similar response to Barry's above. It's a crap time and you can expect to be pulled to pieces emotionally. Good luck mate and remember a trouble shared is a trouble halved, believe it or not this board is made up of some decent people.

I had one about 10 years ago, not too much trouble.....obviously take care getting home and expect some pain. I was fine within days of it, that is that pain and much of the swelling had gone.

Never let a fantastic display get in the way of an opinion like this!'! How about you run along and provide us all with brief summation of the cost of the Man City forwards and midfielders, the wages they are paid. I'll help you by saying that we bought Fox for a couple of million from Burnley and he is probably on £20k a week. Last years league champions only scored one goal yesterday. You make it sound like they overran him.

A really good summation mate. Nice one.

McDermott and Le Fondre get Manager/player of the month
Seaford Saint replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
He is not a target man and does not stretch teams... so the Pog gets the nod. The reminds me of Raziak a bit, different physical build but both slow -

To be honest I am worried about the Reading fixture. A team of no stars but an honest bunch who give everything. -

You make me laugh....a £300K acquisition who lacks pace but has a definite eye for goal......I watched the Reading Chelsea match and I reckon we should beat them but Kebe is still a threat...the Russian striker "the Pog" they have is hopeless from what I saw. Reading play with the Pog up front in a loan striker role. Our game against them is pivotal and I would love to go...do I want to sit in the away fans and watch it? Not sure. I hate low lifes and asking the Saints guys to sit down so I could watch the game was tantamount to me offering to fight them. -
He has been excellent for some time now. If you guys had had your way you would have sold him on or stuck him out on loan ages ago.

When is Ramirez going to start justifying his price-tag?
Seaford Saint replied to Sheaf Saint's topic in The Saints
He is an excellent footballer, no question about that. I think he is in the wrong team, he looks out of place. We need grafters with some skill and craft not a skillful player with a little graft. Maybe in a more successful team his strengths will be more fully utilised -
