  1. No he and Dire together - more failed chances than I have had hot dinners
  2. Anything will be a possibility if we are in the bottom three at the end of Otober with crowds of only 15,000 as Lowe will just panic to avoid Barclays pulling the plug. Lallana to be sold to Fulham next? While Billy Davies is obnoxious apparently it may take someone with his mentality to keep us up this season.
  3. I think unless we play with Killer/Thomas/Perry at CH and Cork at right back with a combination of Scacel and Surman on the left we will remain in deep do dos.
  4. I have read every comment on this thread and cannot disagree with most of the points. I remain ever optimistic but fear the football adage that 'you cannot win anything with kids' will put us on the bottom on Wednesday. I cannot see ua currently improving and I regret to say I do not have any constructive ideas but bring in a number of experienced defenders and midfield players to supplement the younger players who merit our support.
  5. Deserved a red card unfortunately for a reckless challenge entirely down to inexperience
  6. Probably 'two steps forward and four back' would have done it. I was trying to respond to a number of random threads within this topic
  7. I have read all of this and frankly most of it is prejudiced mush. I see no point in dragging over historical events as to how we got here from 2003 and who to blame it is only important in how move on. We are already a laughing stock after Burley. Passing over how a two up two down retirement home can take over a premiership club run along the lines of Stoneham Golf Club (sorry showing one's age and no disrespect to SGC) this is not about class divides or other outdated notions this is an issue about the competence of Lowe and Cowan to run a football club. Sorry only about 2 out of 10. The position at present (and by the way I have seen ALL games this season except Derby and watched all reserve games last year as in previous years) is that we have a chance of doing well in the short term leaving aside the arguments about the longevity of this current level of performance from a side with a very low average age if you exclude Michael and Chris Perry. We currently have a few happy punters (like me) paying their money in spite of the Club selling Andrew Davies and loaning out some players that we should perhaps keep for the long road of the Championship season and what do we get get an unproven midfielder with no track record. It can only be the pillock Lowe. Are we really going to drop Gillet or Wootten or Lallana to name a few to play this guy? Shneiderlin Cork hopefully Gasmi and now Pulis this does not hang together - Lowe vindicated you are having a laugh we are back to spying on Strachan and complaining about Sturrock drinking coffee and sacking him at Staplewood. Help but three points tomorrow. As it is 45 years since Dr Martin Luther King but saints supporters have a dream and it does not involve these two clowns. I will of course give Mr Pulis jr. every chance as ever
  8. I thought Cork played extremely well last night and looks an excellent prospect if Chelsea let us keep him. I also thought Thomas played well apart from a couple of magic moments with Cork sweeping up behind him. I think apart from corners where they looked dangerous Birmingham only had one direct shot and that was outside the box and Bart saved it well.
  9. He was never my favourite but after he left us he appeared in the Championship team of the week every week he played. The other way of looking at it is that he freed up the left back slot for Bale who we made a lot of money out of.
  10. Whu some good news this week - Luggy would not buy him if he saw his abject performance in the week for the reserves - sorry let me take that back as Luggy may look at this forum - he was terrific
  11. Mr Jones was financial director or it may have been controller with the infamous Retirement Securities whatever and came into the club with Lowe and Cowan. I cannot comment about his capability but in terms of the public face of the club, accounts etc this is managed in a proper manner. What has occurred beneath that may be another matter but should not be pre-judged as he cannot be blamed for relegation, loss of parachute payments and a list of over paid poorly performing players as Burley used SFC to settle his previous obligationsto those players. Howver to be financial director of a Plc which goes into administration would seem to be heading in the direction of retirement security rather than a good career move.
  12. I am trying hard not to be totally cynical about Jan's comments but clearly a 'squad' was agreed with him at the start of the season and this included Davies who has now been sold and if the rumours are true Surman and John who may yet depart. I think the statement was merely an attempt to try an avoid the disruption that a full blown protest by the supporters will cause. However to state the obvious to the supporters that we need all three of these players and now have to replace the one sold treats us in the manner that we have always been treated by Mr Lowe - a necessary evil to provide income to the Club but not worthy to have an opinion equal in stature to his. There is nothing wrong with arrogance if you are good at your job the difficulties start when you are arrogant but you are not. I am not sure we can get out of the mess we find ouselves in either on the pitch or financially without inward investment.
  13. Better to be a 'Lowe Out Stand Up and be Counted' protest AFTER the next home game surely?
  14. I agree but you would not include Skacel or BWP based on their dire performances last night for the Reserves. Euell was ok - Dyer was nowhere to be seem but Thomas and Wotton were watching.
  15. Beaten by a better stronger well organised and older side. Having said that it was not that bad and in terms of the senior players Euell was ok but BWP and Scacel were awful and I thought Bart was shaky. If Mr Lowe thinks Ollie Lancashire is the natural replacement for Andrew Davies or Michael Svennson if he is injured maybe but not this season. I saw Thomas and Wotton there but did not speak to them but thanks for the support. There were a large number of alleged scouts sat near me but most left well before the end.
  16. As I understand it from the reports of the Forum held recently both Davies and Surman were firmly part of Poortvliet's plans. Now clear they are not and the self/club effacing statement Poortvliet was forced into over the weekend will not fool anyone as it is clear his 'agreed' squad is being sold from underneath him. Still this has happened before with previous managers - the sale of Bridge without Strachan's knowledge. Surely he must have been aware that any 'agreements' regarding players were not going to be honoured by a man only interested in retaining his share value. Without investment it is very difficult to predict anything now but eventual administration as we will be bottom after the Derby game or shortly thereafter, crowds will fall to around 10,000 or less comprising the die-hards only (like me) and away fans. From a fan viewpoint this is a tough further series of events to have to endure to get rid of all the characters who have been masquerading as directors having any idea of how to run a football club and hold the position only by virtue of worthless retirement homes. I have supported the club and I do not deserve this. However I travel around the country for my business and what really hurts is explaining to genuinely interested people how you can be in the Premiership and Cup Final one minute and then bust the next. You have to work very hard at being useless to achieve the position we are in.
  17. This is really silly. While accepting you have to reduce costs to avoid administration if you sell only those players that will keep you in the Championship then administration will follow anyway i.e. you cannot have a premiership stadium cost in the Championship or League 1 with low gates. I have real concern that we may be bottom by the end of October with seriously falling gates and administration will then follow. Even if we are taken over at that point and exit Lowe and Co and enter some money the points deduction will ensure we cannot then excape.
  18. Sorry I forgot my avatar was on the previous web site.
  19. I CANNOT believe even Lowe and co would be stupid enough to sell Davies. As you can see from my avatar I am a Svennson fan and I am praying his knee will hold out but our replacements are Perry and Thomas and hopefully later in the season Ollie Lancashire. This is not going to cut it in the Championship where you need dominant defences in an ordinary side whereas we have a group of younger players that we hope will come good. The newsappears to be only on this particular crap website Tribal Football and so I hope it is just a fabrication. Time will tell.
  20. Worst thread in a long line of worthless threads merely designed to wind up any sane peson posting on here
  21. I was sat a few rows in front of him and I thought it was him. He spent most of the game on his mobile. I was going to speak to him at the end but he had gone. I hope he was looking at the defence second half - I think we need two full backs and I think we will end up left to right Perry Killer Davies and hopefully Baird
  22. Lots of energy and effort but a bit lightweight in key areas like the two fullbacks. I thought we were muscled out of it a bit in midfield and gave the ball away a lot due to the pressure. I thought BWP and Dyer were hopeless when they came on.
