The short sightedness in loaning out players.
LostBoys replied to ooohTerryHurlock's topic in The Saints
I do not want to rub it in but he scored last night as well and I appreciate that it is a two edged sword as if Watford did not win Notts Forest who are our immediate target could not lose. While I did not expect Watford to be down among the dead men like us the sheer folly of loaning out all of your strikers financial constraints or not will be written on Lowe's epitaph at the end of the season if not earlier. -
I thought the miss was dreadful and i have seen better finishing in the Tyro league. The whole midfield were poor but Surman produced the worst performance I have seen from a SFC player this season. He could not pass tackle head and was frequently out of position. I agree that the two points dropped against a woeful Derby side could cost us dear in a few weeks time.

I think if you read the numerous posts on the subject posts a few reasons why Lowe should not be here may emanate from them. The fact you found one fan in Woolston does not change the reality of the situation we find ourselves in as a result of a litany of stupid and arrogant mistekes. It may very well be that only administration will get rid of him
-
That was my point - I look forward to seeing 25,000 people stand up and chant for Lowe to get out. I regret if my post was not clear.
-
I remember his name as being one of the potential appointments but there was never any protest or fan backlash Burley was chosen by the board. I do wish that Mr Wotte would not get embroiled in rewriting history at Lowe's behest rather like his comments at the fans involved in the protests (like me)
-
Sorry Lowe lovers (and Lowe PR plants like the Nineteen Canteen and Sumdunce Beast - are they the same person because there cannot be two such ridiculous caricatures in Southampton) but I think the next march and protest is scheduled for the next Saturday home game. I think this continuing pressure will get the bank/mortgage holder to get rid of Lowe irrespective of the results. I am looking forward to the 'stand up if you want Lowe out' campaign again because it will mean there are 25,000 people in the Stadium to protest at his antics.
-
Being totally realistic I think we will end up with 52 points and that should just be enough to keep us up - unlike Leicester last season. Anything higher than that should see us definately safe. Before the three wins I though 6 wins would see us safe but with some of the recent results we may need 7 or even 8 i.e. 4 or 5 more.
-
They may not be guilty and may have been defending themselves but if found guilty by the CCTV they will have to go if the fan was SFC. I think Bradley will be released anyway as he has failed to deliver apart from the odd game like Reading away.
-
While I would like all three and we need them, I would settle for a point
-
This is just a PR ploy to try and head off more of the protests. I thought what they might do is invite one of the Saints Trust numpties (or their self styled publicist and self proclaimed supporter's representative every time the cameras are around) onto the board and claim they had a say in the running of the club on behalf of the fans. I thought that was why the ST had kept quiet until their ludicrous statement last week.
-
Please don't take away my perks just because I only paid £100 for my shares in the first place. Rupert is my hero and if he goes I will have to pay for my share of the Ex-Directory Box again - boo hoo. Complete rubbish trying to rationalise greed and abject failure and stupidity
-
I do not think the Trust has ever claimed to represent the fans - they certainly have never acted like it with the exception of their publicists every time there is a reporter around. Regretably they are totally out of touch and the latest ludicrous statement has come far too late to be taken seriously even if it did have merit. A waste of money for those fans who have pledged their shares to them I am sorry to say.
-
This is one of the most stupid suggestions I have read on this forum. The only credit the Trust can gain from this is at last they have said something. Do they really think that Mr Lowe and Co are going to agree to a form of power sharing with Mr Crouch and the two local MPs. Get real. They are only here to try and preserve their share value and Mr Wilde excluded most of them never paid hard cash for the shares in the first place - unlike the fans who pledged them to the Trust. Totally out of touch.

I watched him warming up and while he was jumping well off both feet I though he ran awkwardly and less than full speed which is normally a pretty good sign that you are carrying an injury(ies). On yesterdays performance he will not be missed. I thought Seijs played well yesterday and Liptak good in the few minutes - one header he did he was over a foot higher than Parkin could jump - shades of Michael
-
Who but a complete idiot would let him go out on loan for the first half of the season. Keep it up Saga your were excellent yesterday and off the the Premier next season
-
I have been watching him through the academy and reserves and he is a very average player - slow and cannot tackle but his crossing I think is good quality. His passing is below par and he gives the ball away far too often when not under pressure only surpassed by Gillet. However after having a 10 metre head start and ending 10 metres behind the Bristol player last week in only 30 metres he had a better game yesterday
-
A close run thing between Norwich and Plymouth but probably Norwich - Saints bottom and Charlton just above. Interesting if it wasn't so heartbreaking that it is likely that all three clubs to be relegated are recent 'premiership' clubs
-
Only teams who score more goals than they concede win games and the league table will reflect that - the rest is of no consequence in the end. Luck is not where you have an opposition player not only start ten metres behind the Saints defender but end up ten metres in front of him in only thirty metres and with the defender then stopping running on the edge of our box it is just poor player(s) and poor coaching. I think Mr Wotte should reconsider his post game comments - we are a laughing stock as we are.
-
Someone said luck is where preparation meets opportunity - this squad is ill prepared for this division and some would say Div 1 as well. Poorly coached and managed with poor strategy on and off the pitch and the least said about the incompetent directors the better
-
I would not like to predict 3rd from bottom as it could be one of four but I think we will be bottom with Charlton above us both with 10 points adjusted because of administration
-
Le Tissier suspects we'll be relegated before last game of season
LostBoys replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I think we wil know in about 4 weeks time when we (together with Charlton) will be too far adrift to recover unless winning every game with a huge goal difference. As that time and before 26 March 2009 the plug will be pulled and Lowe and Co will be gone forever -
I can only compare Mr Mandaric and his interview over the weekend. He has had his problems in his business but has pumped the £15m into Leicester they lost when being relegated last year.
-
Apart from Saganowski the rest do not know where the goal is. I said on other topics that with the squad we have we would be bottom by October 2008 and would not be able to get oit of the bottom three. I have been wrong due to some good away perfermances some of which I have witnessed and Charlton but it has been obvious for months. There is always a mathematical chance and some other teams are not much better but the difference is they have changed and improved their managers whereas we have not. I cannot see us getting to the 50 points mark by some way - prediction around 40 and second to bottom by a fair margin. This is without Administration. Picking up on another point I cannot see Lowe and Co trying to buy the business from the Administrator. We are already in the cack for next season as I cannot see the season ticket holders like myself all renewing in the same numbers as last year.

I thought that the team selection and positions allocated were not appropriate to an 'in your face' hardworking no talent team like Sheffield United who have also been selling players recently as well as Beattie. If you take this coupled with some truly dire performances from Davis, Lallana, McLaggon and McGoildrick you are going to have big problems. I think that Wotte is here to stay all the way to Div 1. The removal of Pearson and the non hiring of Billy Davis when faced with Dutchmen way out out of their depth will be our epitaph this season. Do we all realise we are a laughing stock? I was in Reading on business and I was asked at the meeting what is going on at SFC as they advised they always envied Southampton when Reading were at Elm Park and way down the divisions. I explained they have a good chairman and manager and we have neither. Also stupid Steggles was there in the Hotel - what was he doing as I haven't seen him around lately. Any one know?
