I like Magilton but he has not done very well this year with a very big budget
-
I would rather we did this at the end of the season as there is no point in a change two games out. A lot of blame must be pointed at the two coaches but a poor squad with strikers loaned out and far too many untried youngsters is also a lot to do with it.
-
We have a number of players that are OK , a number that are not Ok and never will be and a number of players that are not yet ready for the Championship or perhaps Div 1. This is not good enough a squad mix to stay up and this is why we will go down (unless we win the last two games and EVERY result elsewhere goes for us)
-
I would rather we did this at the end of the season. We should know around that time who the new owners are and how much money we have for players to rebuild the squad - and who of the current bunch wants to stay and if we want them to stay.

I think there has been sheer incompetence at many levels from the top down. From a bank perspective (and I am definately not a banker) it is impossible to extend facilities with a non performing team, supporters staying away because they hate the chairman and marches on a match day to protest about the situation. It seems to me all you can do is cut and run. We have to move on now.

The premiership days and the Cup Final of 2003 are now a long distant memory

Why didn't Gavyn Davies save us from administration?
LostBoys replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
I understand he was considering a purchase with David Frost when Rupes, Guy Gutless and Mike Spineless took the club for next to nothing but there has been no real evidence that he has ever been interested since then - only rumours. -
I only ever read Nineteen Canteens posts when he is quoted as I put him and the other idiot Sumdunce Beast on my ignore list. Nothing he ever says would cause me to reverse my decision. He simply latches onto quite reasonable and lucid posts and states the most ridiculous nonsense. I think we should club together and have him assessed as he is clearly delusional rather like his pal Rupes. Alternatively we could all put him on ignore and he can post to himself. I think he would like that and he can congratulate himself on his perceived wisdom every time he posts to himself.

Truly awful all over the park. Never really in it they were a better team and better man for man - strange that two locally born players scored the first two goals which may relegate us. I had this down as a no pointer in my predictions but was hoping for one point. Unless results go for us tomorrow and if we lose on Monday I think it is all over even if a miracle is possible mathematically at least. Verging on suicidal.

I thought Youga looked shaky at the start but then played well once the Northam started booing him. Whoops poor mistake apart from the hair he did not look like our Linvoy.

Why dont we tell him that we would prefer that Askham and Richards do not appear in the directors area. mark.fry@begbies-traynor.com
-
I cannot believe they were there. When they were exiled they had the ex-Directory box and sat there but they released that when Lowe came back and so have no right to be there.
-
I have no objection to John Mortimore as he is the club President but what are Guy Gutless and Mike Spineless (I think these descriptions are great from another post) doing in the directors area.

It appears to me that Mr Lowe promised far more than he could deliver to Barclays and thereby lost credibility with them. I consider that he genuinely thought that his very risky strategy of a dutch revolution would work, ignoring the adage that you win nothing with youngsters because unfortunately he always considered he was always THE expert on football matters. I do not blame him for the entire drop in attendances this season but his persistent alienation of the fans who he never recognised as customers with a choice, is partly attributable. Due to the extreme circumstances we may have a doubling of attendances until the end of the season and he and his cabal will be damned as a result and on balance as his failures totally outstrip any successes, rightly so.

A company has been set up for fans to buy the club.
LostBoys replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
I am not prepared to criticise anyone who wants to help. It is very easy to hide behind a forum handle and deride other peoples efforts. I would suggest that if the consortia is for real they do actually form a company for the purpose with a web site and non yahoo email address and then go public in the Echo and local TV. In that way people can see it is genuine. -
Amazing interview. Talk about washing the blood off your hands and walking away. There is no doubt that arrogance and stupidity is a very dangerous mix particularly when you have manipulated yourself into a position of control without spending any money which is the only positive thing he has done - for himself at least. First rule in business is look after your customers not antagonise them in the blind perception that they will continue to spend their money with you like sheep. The biggest joke I have read in all of this is that he will buy the club back with his own money - well no-one else will invest with him. Sorry Rupes you have had your day and along with Guy Gutless and Mike Spineless (from other posts today) will you now please quietly disappear. We are moving on.

I do not feel strongly against Barclays and do not believe that any Saints fan would abuse a Barclays bank clerk and blame them for their actions. You could argue that they could have done it sooner given the way the club was managed. I do not bank with Barclays personally and as it happens neither do any of my clients but if you bank with Barclays (as opposed to them banking with you) and you feel strongly I suggest you change banks and tell them why.
-
I think we should take this at face value as an attempt to help the club. Mr Richards problem together with Mr Askham is that both being local people they now have to live with the fact that they will be blamed for the clubs problems. Tough - in life you make decisions and then have to live with them. They chose to convert their £100 shares into thousands and now they have lost the lot. Sorry no sympathy but we move on to do whatever we can to support the club.

Let's have some names of potential new owners then...
LostBoys replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Anyone with real money -
I think you want to be a bit careful about ground sharing with Pompey apart from the usual reasons. One of their bankers has demanded its loan back with immediate effect - allegedly £25m but I cannot find confirmation.

Lowe still a director of Southampton Football Club Limited
LostBoys replied to Beer Engine's topic in The Saints
I thought he said Kenneth Poynton but i could not hear it properly either -
No excuses for anyone not to go now - once they have finally gone
-
Please please please Mr Wilde Mr Lowe Mr Askham and the rest JUST GO. No excuses just disappear let us see if we can rescue anything from the debris. I am sorry that you have actually lost real money Mr Wilde but you put the cabal back in - did you really think that the supporters would just roll over and all carry on turning up and paying the money. Naive at best. No more stories leaked to the Echo or BBC to retreive your reputations - you have none - just disappear please. If you want to come to the games buy your seat or your box but no more perceived wisdom.

Fulthorpe who - must be a name from the past
