  1. I do not think we will get any knee jerk reactions but some of the players have to be replaced based on last nights performance. How many rubbish perfermances can James ans Mills put in before they return to the Reserves.
  2. Ref was poor but we have to get used to it. The first half tackle on Hammond was not only late but just below the knee from where I sat and the Ref bottled it then and got a lot wrong afterwards. However it was not him who missed the sitters and cannot do even basic defending.
  3. We should know by now this season that you do not get points in this league by outplaying the opposition. If you cannot hit a barn door from a few yards out and make schoolboy errors you will not win anything. There were some dreadful performances - Mellis Davis and James yesterday and why bring on Mills who continued his dire contribution from Saturday. We need someone on the left as a matter of urgency.
  4. I only listened on the radio but to have 7 chances in the first half and not score is worrying. Also it sounded like the final pass and cross at the end of each move was dire - again. The other thing we must address is the ability of the opposition to punt the ball past James and then outrun him - Mr Leitch of the Echo thought this was amusing whereas I do not. 2 points lost but we are at least unbeaten.
  5. Super stuff - great shots of the Milton Road end and Toomers where I bought my footie boots.
  6. I am proud to say I actually got sent off playing hockey for my school. Being a lefty I played the wrong way round and the right back kept whacking me as I breezed past him. As I had a Soton Youth Cup football semi final that afternoon I was worried about being crocked and so when he took the umpteenth lump out of my leg (quite legitimately as you cannot shield the ball) I decked him. We were 14 nil up at the time. I ended up in serious trouble but this did not compare to the deep proverbial I was in when when my team picture with me holding the match ball appeared in the Echo having won the cup - as my school played Rugby!
  7. I think Thomas has been extremely good at right back and if he is injured this is a real blow.
  8. What totally crap journalism. Oh no I was forced to play hockey at school and I am associated with the club as I sit in the Kingsland - I had better check my ancestry to check I am not related to the village idiot of our ex chairman! The Guardian does not do humour by the way.
  9. Just another Echo headline with a threadbare article underneath in a slow week for news. I have seen every game this season except Huddersfield and there have been mistakes in my opinion from both manager and some players and there are at least two players in the team who will not be there much longer. I am happy it will come right - we played Charlton off the park for long periods on Saturday - even theit own website agreed.
  10. I think Solent is dire - who wants to listen to Dave ' I've got a huge chip on my shoulder where Saints are concerned because Askham sacked me and I want to be director of football' Merrington whinge away

    Trotman

Now now Thomas has been a revalation this season - at right back!!! Jaidi Trotman and Thomas now that is a sizeable back line
  12. Ok we have to respect APs opinion and Gillett had some good and not so good performances but you have to take into account he was in a poorly performing side. However I would put him in above James any day of the week.
  13. He was on the pitch at Charlton warming up when you posted this
  14. I personally would have played Saga not Lallana. His goal was good but the rest less so. Also Mills is never a left midfield player and James was given the runaround by Jonjo Shelvey yesterday
  15. Good overall performance and we should have had more goals first half and Lallana should have scored with a unmarked header from a few yards out in the second. Usual stupid mistakes and Jonjo Shelvey - hardly a quality midfield player even in league 1 - gave Lloyd James the runaround. The Charlton fans after the game said we deseerved to win and would be a force to be reckoned with if we could shoot straight. Other than that a good day out.
  16. No Saganowski on OS squad?
  17. Rupert who?
  18. James Mellis Paterson and Thomson are not ready for full time stints in this league. The jury is still out on Lallana. I agree the situation will resolve itself when Jaidi and Papa can play and Murty Holmes and Saga 'return'. I also want to say that I think Thomas is formidable at defensive right back.
  19. I agree but a lot of posters appear to favour James who I think is a very poor player at midfield and even worse at right back.
  20. Unfortunately our chances fell to the one player who will never score while he has got a hole in his backside. There are a large number of players in non league who would have put his chances away - he did one flick on pass and the rest was just dross - a rabbit in the headlights just like he plays in the Reserves
  21. I thought it was hilarious. However I seem to remember he bought the house when Sandbanks was not as horrendously expensive as it is now out of his insurance pay off when he had to give up playing and became Bournemouth manager.
  22. I thought we could have won very easily but the chances kept falling to players who are just not good enough at the moment. I thought that Paterson James and Thomson were dire - I will give Mills the benefit of the doubt as it was his first game back from injury. I am still going to Charlton next weekend and hope for better things.
  23. Good - I hope they stick with it
  24. Not very bright to do it and even more stupid to own up to it years after the event. Not good
