Not a brilliant interview after a disappointing performance overall. However we had enough chances in the first half to bury them.

Who cares what Charlton fans think?. They are a miserable bunch just living off a few good years with an exceptional manager who did well with a very average squad. Pardew will be judged here in Southampton this season not on past performances however others judge them.

Some quite good football but no cutting edge and poor finishing. Their goal was a joke We need to play a lot better than this as Plymouth were poor - a lot of effort and organised but that is all

I am not comfortable being favourite at such short odds and so I welcome a different view. I am not sure that using historical parallels from different clubs and different divisions is a good basis for any judgement though. It is true we are not used to challenging promotion. Our track record is narrowly avoiding relegation each year as it was quite difficult to get promoted out of the Premier League if I remember correctly.

The easiest way is to 'ignore' the poster concerned - you do not have to do it to very many to make the forum a much better place - I will not name all of mine but 'ignoring' numpty canteen and idiot from the alps have done me the power of good. Better ignore than not renew because of a few posters who just want to be difficult and controversial and generally wind everyone else up.

I would not read too much into a pre season game with an average and possibly struggling Championship side. We were ok for the first hour with first team squad players and at times made Reading look ordinary but when the six substitutions were made overall we were pretty ropey. We now know that Pulis does actually exist but I did not really notice him in the game. With regard to the other 'academy' and 'reserves' players we know that some of them have promise but are not yet ready for the first team squad.

The shirt shortage is now acute with only small and 5xl left for a month. I am in the dog house as I bought my wife the same size new shirt as her old red and white stripe one to find the new one was in fact the same real size as my son's red and white one - TWO sizes smaller. No problem - go back and change it for a bigger size complete with her red and whire stripe one as a comparison only to find none are left. When I queried the huge difference in size with the staff - wait for it - it is because the new shirt is fitted!!!. This presumably means the previous shirts were not - particularly the one that strangled you due the neck hole only being big enough for an infant. Why do they not have any shirts at present - they underestimated demand - for a retro shirt without a dreadful sponsor slab of plastic on the front - I cannot understand why that would be popular!! By the way the training kit sizes appear to be ok as I had to buy one to appease my wife who will have to wait a month for her home shirt.

I would not want to diss the Trust as they are fans and I enjoy the Ugly articles even if I do not agree with them. I have never understood that the Trust serves any purpose apart from represent 'the fans' general viewpoint which they simply just do not do. They alienated vast swathes of the fans with their antics and comments during the reign of Rupes version 2 - a seat on the Board you are having a laugh. If the AGM simply dishes up anti Liebherr, Cortese and Pardew sentiment they will simply marginalise themselves still further.

I love beating up BMWs especially the ones with the funny M on them they have apoplexy when I outrun them. The joke is though that my car is a BMW colour!!!
