The details of the bust up has some credibility as it explains why there is no replacement immediately available. All in all I remain very disappointed with the whole sorry saga

Seems to be a lot of discussion around Phil Brown after his statement that he would be interested in the job. I still prefer Martin O'Neill but I suppose he and Cortese would be like bumper cars crashing headlong. Oh the avatar is a feeble attempt at humour - don't rush to my home page to see if Mr Cortese is posting on here in disguise

Dreadful performance. Has to be better for the visit of Rochdale.

"Unfounded" speculation and rumour in the Echo.....
LostBoys replied to CB Fry's topic in The Saints
The men in white coats are coming. I thought we had all agreed about the useless Echo? -
I do not think so - he has just joined Wolfsburg. I think it is Martin O'Neill

Love it :vuvu:

There are a number of sub threads running about why this has happened. I am very surprised by the timing of this. I have just two further points 1. We will look back on this decision as inspired or the exact opposite if we go through a period of disruption which costs us points. 2. I detested Rupert Lowe. Having met him on a couple of occasions I concluded he was an arrogant little boy who would not listen to anybody and thought he was always right. Unfortunately for us he knew nothing about football and the results for the club were disastrous. A number of posters have been making comparisons between Lowe and this latest development. I am hesitant to do this but I have to agree that the timing of this is very like Mr Lowe. I am very concerned about this after the 'high' of Saturdays result and I think the performances have been good this season but we have not be converting chances until the Rovers game when we should have had double the number of goals.

I certainly never saw this coming - definately at the end of September if we did badly against the lowly opposition in the next few weeks. It does not look good after a 4 nil drubbing of Bristol on Saturday. I do not think we come out of this very well. It reminds me of the Div 2 manager who was voted manager of the month in the morning and sacked by the Chairman in the afternoon who was not aware his manager had been voted the manager of the month in the morning. Clearly Cortese has a new manager and team already lined up.

Bristol Rovers (0) V (4) Saints,Post match wooting..

You should only ever put your mouth where your money is and yes I placed a bet that we would win the league. I am sorry that some people on here want to slit their wrists because we only drew with Leyton O when we should have scored 6. I intend to enjoy this season and if other posters on here do not then I am very sorry for you and you need to get out more. -
Another poster who is taking all this soooo seriously. Please just wallow in your own misery while we enjoy the season.

Well done lads it sounded great on the radio. I cannot wait until Tuesday now. And for all the sad people on this thread saying we will not win the league - you are very sad people and you need to get out more. -
I agree that Hammond along with the other midfielders (Lallana aside) have been below par - but we have still created loads of chances and won every game so far.

Hesitant To Post This, But Me I'm Out Of Patience

Standing ovation last night tells a different story from your view. Having worked for three years in New York before the days of internet and relying on reduced faxed copies of the Football Echo report each week, I understand your polarised view - every loss is a disaster - but this is not reality. We will win the league as we have cut through every team this season but have not made the best final pass and score. Not the end of the world. -
No one wants to film us in the Kingsland, i am feeling quite excluded and left out.

What do you expect when there was a riot going on and SFC fans fighting with SFC fans. Oh there wasn't a riot going on and no one was fighting - we were just singing Markus Liebherr's Red and White Army - well you could interpret that as a riot if you were a policeman with a camera. Ridiculous.
-
I counted clear 11 chances and we only scored once we should have been 6 up by half time. Their goal was woeful. Some of the balls played into the box for Rickie were terrible. It can only get better.

I am away this weekend for a wedding but will go on Monday
-
Very sorry to hear this news. A bolt out of the blue does not go anywhere near describing it. The club will be forever in his debt and I am sorry that he will not see SFC in the Premier League. Our condolences to his family and friends.

I thought it was funny - I wonder what thy would have done if we had scored
-
Always tastes better out of a real glass rather than a plasic one - I did not say that Tetleys would be my first choice by the way - bring back the 1.5 pint bucket and change to Greene King IPA
-
Lucky not to get sent off - any later and he would have done
-
We outplayed an alleged Championship side for most of the game and gave away a numpty goal. We will still win the league and Plymouth will end up only mid table as you cannot rely on riding your luck with last ditch blocks all season
-
Great all day breakfast and a couple of excellent pints of Tetleys - oh sorry that was the Dell Supporters Club :vuvu:
-
I meant of course crosses that went just over peoples heads and misplaced final balls. On another day we will connect and score. I agree in terms of working the goalkeeper we did not do well - a couple of freekicks straight at him
-
Yes a few of us in the Kingsland stand had a go at a guy booing well before the final whistle. He then left and I hope he does not come back.
