Good - I think he is a very good prospect - the emphasis being prospect at the moment. He should not be rushed in as we have seen in the past - decided as not good enough (Mills senior and Monk) only to find they become successes elsewhere when they mature.

I thought that our 'offer' for him was deemed far too low by Peterborough. I had not read anywhere that we updated it. Brighton is a strange choice as the paper reported he was going to sign for QPR. You should not believe all you read.

I know a lot of people have written him off but I thought he showed great promise. I do not think that we are very good judges of midfield players on this forum as Harding Chaplow and Schneiderlin normally get written off as well.

When he was appointed we were all but doomed in fact he could only have succeeded if his name was Lazarus. Although he improved the team the performances from certain players remained poor and many chances were scorned - Blackpool away final minutes 1 each Surman breaks clear on the left and there are two unmarked Saints players in the box - and the ball ends up on the beach. I am not blaming Surman as he was one of the best players for us but overall we were just crap. I think that if Wotte had been manager we might have just escaped. I think he is a good coach but managing in the Championship needs experience from the manager and players.

Some of those selected to play in the games were shocking. Wellbeck had a decent season for Sunderland but could not hit a barn door - Mancienne was out of his depth as well as position and the guy playing in Lallanas position was just totally overawed and just passed backwards all the time unfortunately generally breaking up any forward movement just dreadful. The defence looked good that is all. Lallana and AOC could have done much better than those selected - bias or not.

I have a different philosophy - if I like the shirt I buy it if not I do not. I do actually have a lot of Saints shirts but probably more away than stripes. I never liked the Flybe ones because of the slab of plastic on the front but I did buy one of those for the JPT!!!

I think every Premier and most Championship clubs will have had AOC watched. If he does well and makes/scores a bunch of goals in the tornament this is bound to increase his profile and may tip the balance in terms of the size of the bid.

I do not agree that we would have gone down with Dave Jones as manager. I am glad Cardiff have booted him out as they will be weaker without him. I am looking forward to all the away days - bring on the fixture list

Have you mistaken Carrick for Fletcher. Carrick a technical midfielder - cannot tackle and can only pass to the opposition. I do not think that you could expect him to look good against Barcelona but you have to look competent. I am dreading a HCDAJFU when Ferguson dumps him.

Anyone would look good being marked or in this case not marked by that clown Michael Carrick. He wandered around never made a tackle and when he got the ball gave it away. On his way and please nowhere near St Mary's.
