I really did not like Neville as a player - I never thought he was any good - but as a commentator/pundit he is excellent. I do not know why he would like us I remember he used to get terrific abuse at the Dell.

No - Cortese would not put up with his crap and Rednapp would not be allowed to get involved in players deals and so he would not come anyway.

Benitez still has a home near Liverpool. He gave an interview at the gate when Dalglish was sacked. It can have been Spain as it was pouring with rain an he came out with tea.

Defences keep you in the Prem

Bit difficult to be upbeat after you have just been dicked. At least we do not have to 'take the positives' as there do not seem to have been many

I could only listen on the radio but most teams who do well at Arsenal achieve it by operating as a defensive unit front to back and stop them playing. We do not have the players to do that and are not used to doing it in the last few years. There are bound to be games where you have to do this and we have just had three of the four and failed miserably.

Its wider than this - Welbeck Cleverley and Carrick were poor against us with Cleverley less so but all three turned out for England. They were all poor again against League 1 Moldova and yet appeared again against the Ukraine. Cleverley was dreadful again and and will never make a striker as his woeful finishing showed. Its all to do with who you play for still but he will return to their U21 side.

Very pleased for him and us. It is deserved particularly when you recall the crap performances by Carrick, Welbeck and less so Cleverley against us. All three were crap again when they were still selected and played for England against League 1 standard Moldova. I hope he gets on and I hope he does well.

I thought it was astonishing that Carrick Welbeck and slightly less so Cleverley were rubbish against us but still made the England side and then were rubbish again. Would SRL have converted the chances we missed against Moldova?

I loathed him as a (useless) player but I think he is very good on Sky.

A small point is there are still players in the named squad who needed to be moved on before Mr Sharp

I still do not fully understand why he has been released for a season (or longer). He played well for us with his only problems being a bit unfit when he arrived and bad misses at West Ham and Blackpool. It now appears he did not want to go. The value of the decision can only be assessed depending on how well we do this season and how many he scores for Forest.

Its a shock all right - the Echo have done a bit of trawling and come up with a possible story

Very enjoyable game and we should have won based on overall performanmce on a world wide stage BUT Fox does not go tight on Valencia and watches the cross Clyne slips and VP scores 1 Guly finds himself at left back as an overhit corner comes his way so does he leave it as there is no one behind him - no he heads it a few yards to a Man U player - VP scores 2 Fonte makes an unchallenged poor header out straight to a Man u player ball comes in to him again and he slices it for a corner. VP comes across the defender and scores the third. Really amateurish defending which ruins a very good performance otherwise. There are a few players making basic mistakes and while you can get away with them in the Football League the ball will end up in your net in the Prem. I thought the substitutions were a disaster. Very disappointed but i had us down to lose 2 zip in the prediction League but as ever it is the hope that kills the spirit.

Funniest thing I have read all weekend. I would not watch MOD last night when I found he was on.

I am not surprised at him moving on but he could have done better than Brighton - I think that is where he comes from? He always did his best for us and played a big part in the promotions and I wish him well with my thanks for what he did for us.

Not happy with this at all. Ok there were a few costly misses at West Ham and Blackpool but he did well for us and arguably ensured we were promoted. I am not surprised that half the football Championship were after him. Very disappointed.
