Gordon took a woefully thin on quality squad (with four very very good players who played down the spine of the team) and got them to perform well above their station. He know the prat Lowe would not be spending any money on the squad and Gordon knew that this would only lead one way.

I do not think this is true. Celtic rated him very highly but there were rumours of Stolichnaya- itis while he had injury problems.

I did laugh when PFC denied it and the Blackpool Gazette apparently took a piccie of Appleton in a Blackpool hotel on Sunday night according to a Pompey friend of mine. He apparently took flight when it was reported that the blue few best supporters in the world are not coughing up their £900 pledges in advance of the share prospectus. Now Nigel is going to Blackpool where everyone else thinks it is Appleton

Pretty good but largely irrelevant as the circumstances are different in each case in terms of teams played and the PL is a very different place now than it was then in terms of quality of teams etc. Also a word of support for Mr Wigley - he had horrendous injury problems when he was in charge and got the boot when the players started to return but the article is correct he was not suitable appointment as he was a better coach than manager. Hang on a minute we have had a few of those - Big Dave and the two Dutch boys just to start the list.

I was commenting that if Cortese sacks Nigel (which I don't support but Cortese has not asked my opinion) I do not think it would be someone with no experience except a lot of mouth. I was not comparing our current Chairman with the deluded idiots at Blackburn and the high risk strategy they have just decided with an unproven Chumpionship manager either. I seem to remember a previous SFC Chairman tried that. With regard to the banter on the forum sometimes it is funny and I have no problem if someone does not like anything I post and takes the p**s but every thread at the moment seems to carry the same stupid comments by the same bunch of t**ts and so I put them on ignore. I had to listen to the game on the radio and I never heard him say that. DM said he thought that Saints had to be more attacking and make changes in players and shape. Not rocket science as we had not had a shot at goal.

I think Nigel may be gone next week with another poor performance at West Brom but the Chairman will have someone more high profile with experience lined up I have ignored the school playground comments on this thread - it is difficult to read them as most of the t**ts are already on ignore. Get a life and post something sensible if this is possible.

I think they should get the whole Leeds ticket price off the QPR tickets which they should be entitled to automatically. Midweek is impossible for me normally although I am trying to juggle a meeting in Brum next week but those that can make it should be supported with extra points.
