We are reliant on fantasy published in the press but if the basics can be believed AM had a break clause which they allegedly did not action in time nor have paid the money which meant we had first dibs for TA at a pre-arranged price. Have we paid them the pre-arranged price to obtain his contract/registration? It appears once AM did not activate the break clause and paid the fee Saints were in pole position to sign him but TA appears to be going to Spurs. It does not hang together guys and I cannot wait for an eventual statement from Saints. In an earlier post on this topic a poster alluded to a senior member of the Saints management team responsible for inter alia 'legal matters' left suddenly on 24 June 2015. I have no idea if this event is connected and certainly will not conjecture but I do know my definition of 'mutual consent' compared to 'pursuing other interests' after 40 years in business.

I am surprised Toby would go to Spurs but it is Spurs doing the reporting of this. I agree with the Club saying nothing until a deal is done but I am getting fed up with this deluge of crap from the papers about our players leaving - probably becuase it is very likely true

Sad news - he was uncompromising on the pitch but a modest unassuming cultured individual off it. I had the pleasure of meeting him a few times while he was playing and it was a genuine pleasure to spend time in his company.

I am not sure why we are surprised at Clyne. We were happy to take him from Palace where he did to them what he now appears to be doing to us. A business contact of mine in the land of the Mancs told me on the Manure Fanzines it has been reported that Clyne met Manure in London recently to agree terms. They are fed info by the club and they were right nearly a year before Shaw went and I cannot see them being wrong again. Against this Clyne is of course from London and this may be important to him and he is of course much brighter than Shaw and will want guarantees about being first choice etc. A bit more water to run under this bridge but I cannot see him being here next season.
