Looks like every other year then, no-one ITK
-
I think this sums it up very fairly - I wish him well, but Saints need better quality ...and yes, how many of us have played that many games in the EPL?!
-
and it was all going so well
-
I'm afraid you have the script there, we've seen it all before
-
What do you think this is - a transfer thread !!
-
With all due respect, all views welcome etc, but I trust Ralph more than anyone on this forum I hope you don't have the last laugh in May!
-
It looks like Saints have decided we have enough to stay up. Better to get rid of deadwood, trim the squad and slowly rebuild the Ralph way. That makes more sense in the Summer rather than panic buys in January, unless the odd bargain pops up. I'm OK with that That leaves the forum free to bicker over who knows best and who said what - what its here for COYS

Saints vs Derby - FA Cup 3rd Round Replay Thread

Time and time again, season in....season out, but at least Ralph knows it now. We need some quality at CB. -
Imagine a vegetable seller with a cabbage in both hands. Even grosser.

Saints vs Derby - FA Cup 3rd Round Replay Thread

EPL is still priority of course but it would be a shame not to put out a good side with Accrington waiting for the winner in the FA cup 4th round. Am I getting over confident about staying up already? ....not on the evidence so far, but who knows -
Stuart McKinstry....possibly

I also worry about Saints. I also like the manager. I also think we'll be fine. Against Leicester we'll run around a lot, look relatively promising in spells, then make two stupid mistakes at the back to lose 2-0. I don't think there is any inconsistency in that (cue surprise "well you're also an idiot" response)

"With Southampton in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season, it is hard to see the Saints attracting a player of Mendes’s quality"
-
Well there isn't much alternative is there?

I don't know why, perhaps its just sheer desperation, but I keep looking at this thread in the full knowledge that it never has anything other than regurgitated media rumours and keyboard warrior's outpourings. I should know by now that anyone genuinely ITK won't be posting on here. Stating the obvious perhaps, but it may be unreasonable to expect too much to happen soon because: 1. No movement out - We have too many players who are not good enough, on good contracts. As a player, especially a more senior one, why wouldn't you just stay put and take the money for 2-3-4 years? ...rather than move and take a pay cut 2. No movement in - the squad, and wage bill, is already too big because of 1. 3. No movement out - its unlikely that anyone in the higher leagues would want our rejects (is another Premier League team likely to want Hoedt?) - anyone in the lower leagues won't be able to afford their wage demands (hence loan outs) 3. No movement in - We are in the relegation zone - why would a good player come here and risk relegation? and so we wait, waiting for a pleasant surprise...but with low expectations

Classic Cup game, a lot more bluster and hoof than quality I actually think we did OK first half, certainly score wise. You could see the high press rattling the opposition. Second half got very scrappy as Derby upped their game with the goals and we tired. Positives....mmm, we didn't lose, but I'm not even sure about that as a positive. Redmond was good again and we gave a lot of juniors a run out
-
He probably meant concentrating on finding one worth having
-
thank you, that's cheered me up a bit
-
Sums it up perfectly for me - spot on!
-
We didn't know who we were signing?
-
must be nearly full time?

Saints 3 - Arsenal 2 - I should start threads more often

permission to go seriously over the top now please? Remember Nigel's words - its never quite as bad as you think when its bad and its never quite as good as you think when its good its pretty damn good right now though!! -
Agreed. I'm only listening on R5 but I get the impression Saints are keeping the play away from our end more. We'll still lose ....but good signs of things improving
