I'm afraid thats my feeling also. His definition of success is "fulfilling our potential" ....well that might be 8th place in the Premier League with the squad we have I really want to give him the benefit of the doubt though. I might start to believe when I hear him and MP refer to the Southampton Football Club again rather than "the project" ...oh and we try to win the FA Cup if we get given the chance on a plate Onwards and upwards!
-
good job we've still got the cup ...oh
-
Brilliant timing after the FA Cup example of supporter relations! ...shame we didn't have someone in post a few weeks back - or will it just be a case of spinning what the management want to do anyway?
-
an apology to the fans is due - concentrating on 7th place?!
-
and thats got through to the team
-
We won't get relegated, we won't reach CL ....8th or 9th would be a pretty good consolidation year Play the reserves v Hull and save the first team for the FA Cup!
-
only the second time Arsenal have shipped more than one goal in a game in their last 22 Premier League fixtures
-
A great performance, we should be proud of that team. The real mark of when we have made it in the footy world is when the journos talk about "Southampton held at St Marys", instead of Arsenal held...
-
We look like ending up 8th or 9th - without much chance of movement either way irrespective of signings. In that case we might as well keep our powder dry until the Summer when it seems better value signings are to be found. ...Although I guess at a long shot a January signing might help us win the Cup

Should we rename St Mary's to The Liebherr Arena?

Theatre of Cranes -
Agreed, the injuries are the worst aspect, but defensively its disappointing, we had the goals at the other end
-
This is ridiculous - Sunderland weren't even putting in tackles in the first half!
-
"Mauricio Pochettino believes it is important for Katharina Liebherr to attend tomorrow’s game at Sunderland" Coming from Switzerland to Southampton is one thing but venturing up to Sunderland might be expecting a bit much

Its easier to deflect questions about her intentions for the club if he says the meeting was brief and she just wants the best blah blah There were mixed messages however - "My contract is with Southampton and I intend to see out my contract" at one stage then later saying that he will assess at the end of the season Doesn't matter what he says really the tabloids will make up their own stories "according to reports" etc -
i can't see the press conference - how is the mass exodus looking?

Cortese has left Southampton Football Club - Officially Confirmed

This is the forum .... knee jerk is what we do. Our future can only be Champions League Winners or Administration -
Once we get to the end of January, after Sunderland away and Arsenal home, 6 out of the following 7 games are against teams currently below us in the form table Looking good for 8th place finish I'd say (oh... and the FA Cup)

"not sure Gaston meant the pass to AL for the goal" v "Exquisite piece of skill from Gaston to set up the goal for Adam" Very happy to get 3 points though, and a clean sheet. Nice to have the defence back again.

Depends if you believe Twitter and newspaper rumours.... padded out with a few ITK claims and quotes from someone rumoured to have understood according to reports - it should be good for a few more pages yet

http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/football-news/37911-hammers-reveal-transfer-window-plans.php#.UsrAZHn259I A source told us exclusively: "We are moving heaven and earth to get a top striker in along and are also in tallks with Southampton over a possible deal for Rickie Lambert. We also need a central defender given the injury crisis we are suffering."
-
Well I think his shot stopping is probably there. His positioning can be improved with coaching and his confidence can come from successful playing time. That will help the other two aspects. An extended loan seems favourites but thats not easy right now.

Fox, Jos and Gazza were three unwise men, who came bearing gifts not their fault, I'm sure they'd all like to be better. Gazza will become much better in time, Jos is just too inconsistent and Fox was really never up to upper Championship level it will all look a lot different when we get our defence and DM back - you have to build on a solid base

Arse repair then? -
Yeh, a couple of years ago we'd have laughed ourselves silly at the thought of being 8th in the EPL
-
Sam Gallagher on - does that mean we've settled for 1st team experience - or will it be an inspired change?
