Underless RaHa is a miracle worker, I can't see us getting anything but a new one torn for us if teams like Fulham and Cardiff can create so many chances against us with relative ease :-( Happy to be proven otherwise. Hopefully Cedric and Bertie will come back fresh and re focused for the job at hand. And Ings with his goalscoring boots back on would be a bonus!!

Pretty sure I heard Solent say that Paul Sturrock was the last manager to win his 1st game in charge back in 2004. I am also pretty sure they said 9 managers ago, but having just had a quick Wiki, it should be 19 ... yes ner ner ner ner ner nineteen 19 (including 4 caretakers such as Kelvin last week). This is counting Bassett & Wise and Gorman & Dodd duos as 1 appointment each. How come we always seem to be the victim of New Manager Syndrome and fall to rejuvenated teams, yet can't muster up a single win over 19 appointments ourselves?

Is the loan deal with Liverpool a 100% that we have to buy him at the end of the season arrangement? Pretty sure it is, but I don't suppose we put in any what if he's permanently crocked like he has been foe the last 3 years get out clause in it?

Having just seen the Cardiff line up ...I have never heard of any of them except Arter!! Lets hope for a feel good factor with the new boss rather than a fear they'll be out on their arses if they dont perform. Our wing backs and mid fielders will have to cover Target and Valery closely. Optimistic .... why do this to myself, but feel like a win on the cards today. COYS Viva la revolution!!

Excellent point. Les Reed's trip to buy a Lambourgini could also have been a bit of a ruse. Must be dealers in London if not locally surely. Presumably some of Cortese's trips which ended up bringing players back, were really Silver Spoon Hunting Expeditions? Wonder where RaHa will be going to purchase his washing machine in January?

Woodwork 3 times, couple of great saves from the keeper (although simple dinks over him would have done the job twice), 2 glaring misses by Armstrong (although offside each time) a WTF was Davis thinking when he passed instead of shooting and Yoshi doing a better job of defending at the wrong end by clearing JWP's free kick off the line ...... BUT and a very big BUT .... you just felt if Spurs needed to they could have shifted up a few gears and scored more easily!!
-
Umm .... just noticed that the pressure is off us actually beating a Top 6 team, as Moan U are languishing in 7th place ..... so technically a win wouldn't count as a Top 6 win!! So do we approach the game without that monkey on our shoulder and treat them the same as Burnley, Newcatle or Brighton and get a plucky draw, or save ourselves for Spurs away to get that elusive Top 6 win? I fear a United backlash. Even if we found ourselves 2 up I wouldn't put my mortage on us winning even against this current United side. Hope I'm wrong.

After so many poor displays of late, Morinho will be looking to get his show back on the road and what better team to play than us. I'm normally optimistic of a possible upset, but what is it 3 seasons or something stupid without a win against a top 6 team (Can Man U justify the label though?) is likely to continue. Lukaku will score for fun ... 0-3.

Playing Parklife at full blast to inspire a Austin brace I scored a goal (Parklife) It wasn't ruled out (Parklife) So I scored another just for fun (Parklife)

LeG isn't one of reliable pre match sources is he? Hopefully he is pulling our LeGs with that and just missed out the end of the sentence .... Gabbiadini dropped a cup or something!! All will be revealed in just over 10 mins ... lets start ranting then if it is true!!

Pretty much this ...... most London teams and the likes of Liverpool and a few others would normally get in early and stand in the Milton .... only to be unceremoniously moved along from behind the goal by various mobs of later arriving Saints. Man U were the exception ... they virtually took over every part of the ground by sheer weight of numbers as much as anything else. Policing back then was very much reactive rather than proactive ... they'd form a line between the fighting factions rather than dictate where they stood.

You're gonna get your effing head kicked. This was sung within a nanosecond of the away team scoring a goal... or a little bit longer for the neanderthals to register what had happened and what the appropriate response was!! It was hilarious (or embarrassing if watching MOTD with parents) that The Beeb didn't think about muting it out for ages, at a time when bugger or bloody were the only swear words you might hear on TV back then!! Hello Hello ..... Milton Aggro, Milton Aggro ... and then when away supporters were put in The Archers ... Archers Archers do your job!! All very civilised back then!!

This is the worry .... Wilson is probably the only one with any sort of Football Knowledge, leading the search for somebody who's 1st job would probably be to sack him!! What could possibly go wrong?
-
Not so stupid as it may sound .... end of the day both teams are probably going to be putting out a 2nd X1 anyway .... at least you'll know what your shelling your money out for if you decide to go!!
-
Lets hope their 2 early goals against Man U was just a one off. But lets be honest, hey will be viewing this as a winnable game to get their season started, very much as our no show at teirs end of last season kick started their survival run. Actually yhat was probably one of the last games they have won!!
-
There is a stat going around that we have had the most attempts on goal outside of the top 5 ..... so it seems we are creating chances, but obviously not clear cut enough that even me or you could scramable it in with our backsides!! A problem for me is playing Redmond on the left wing. He simply cannot cross with his left foot and it is so telegraphic that he will cut inside to get onto his rightfoot that defenders don't commit to blocking a possible cross!! This was very evident a couple of times on Saturday.
-
Didn't see it ....but sounds like it was entertaining, and they didn't crumple and surrender after giving up a 2-0 lead. 1st XI .... a lesson here?
-
Other end it would have been a Goal of The Month Contender

Back of a fag packet calculations but I think it has taken us 10 games back to the beginning of the year to score 8 goals at home this year

My enthusiasm this season has got so low, and the constant International Breaks have led to me never knowing who our next game is against or when!! A few weeks back I took some last minute leave back to UK and only then noticed we were playing Liverpool and I was going to be in the area. (Un)Luckily I managed to get a ticket, but nprmally my 1st part of leave planning is to try and make it coincide with a Saints match!! This weekend I had to look on here to find out who we are playing. Sadly I don't think I am alone in this lack of caring mode.

Premier League TV fixtures - December and January
ericofarabia replied to Pamplemousse's topic in The Saints
So at least we have a watertight excuse already built in for why we won't win any of them -
How about Fairy Cakes? Cream Puffs?

Can't see anything but a Saints victory. Imagine how much confidence beating Everton reserves in penalties will have given the whole squad. The push for Europe starts here, Top 6 and Wembley Cup Final .... happy days. Obviously last night's the effects of last night's BrewDog 5am Saint Bottles haven't worn off yet!! Shame Chelsea don't have a tough away Euro game in some foresaken Hell Hole of a place tomorrow, but a home tie against a team I've never ever heard of, so no Euro hangover t help us out. Best we can hope is that it's a team of cloggers who take out Giroud and any other 1st teamers who may get a few minutes on the pitch!!

I did fear Redmond was going to take the 5th and miss it .... giving the haters all the ammo they'd need to destroy him. Just seen Cedric's Pen .... nice!!
