  1. One of my mates put 75 quid on him getting booked ....... typically he avoided doing anything stupid. We were praying for him to score and get booked for taking his shirt off celebrating, or even just plain time wasting in the painful added on time ...but alas it was not to be!!
  2. Wow .... you can see that the feel good factor is back as nobody has put ...... " when (insert name of favourite whipping boy) is in the team as he contributes the square root of eff all to the team"
  3. Except for the fact that there aren't any trains that could get you back, if we had the evening TV slot. Of course a 1500 Saturday ko was always going to be too much of an ask, even if we weren't on Live TV, due staggered KO times for the International TV viewing I'm sure there maybe better options if you searched, but a quick check shows dep Accrington 2337 and arr 1243 Sun or pay for B&B overnight.
  4. The Counting House is always popular (maybe too popular!!) getting served can be a pain, but quite convenient for the ground and there is a Tesco's (?) or similar to get a bag of crisps or a sarnie across the road!! Not that the weather is suitable this time of year, but useful for buying bottles/tins and sitting outside the pub without paying pub prices!!
  5. But this the the thing ..... there is no need to rotate wholesale. There is only one mid week match in Jan and 1 in Feb ........ if you put out a good enough team to avoid an uneccessary replay!! Leicester are in no fear or relegation or breaking into the Top 6 ... so the only means of winning a trophy is going for it in The FA Cup or FL Cup. Is the game so focused on the Prem Cash Cow that clubs would rather secure 7th place instead of 8th and don't give a hoot to The Cups even though a place in Europe is there for the taking?
  6. Is he as good looking as Pelle though?
  7. Players need to maintain Match Fitness ... sitting on their ar$es every other weekend isn't going to help. Derby may well view promotion as a priority and field a weak team, we could take advantage get into a commanding position and then rest some players if necessary. Winning games breeds confidence and a feel good factor. Putting youngsters into an inexperienced line up and getting beaten could be detrimental to their confidence, plus adding the need to bring on senior players from the bench to chase the game, which could lead to more chances of an injury. We don't have any midweek matches until end of the month and that is after the next round of the cup which could be a blank weekend if we don't get through, meaning a possibility of a 12 day break!! If players can't manage 1 game a week, then they shouln't be starting at all, with the obvious exclusion of anybody carrying knocks of course. Cup matches are the ONLY chance of any sort of success teams like us have .... why treat them with such distain and disrespect for the fans who have made the journey. Many of the matches in my Top Ten ever have been at away Cup games. Plus I'm free for FA Cup Final weekend this year
  8. Didn't he upset some Huddersfield Fans as well celebrating our goals in front of them. He is probably being call all sort of FatBoy names when doing warming up runs along the touchline, so a bit of pay back is due!! Man City he was on the pitch though .... maybe we should just change the Charlie Austin's Red and White song to and he hates City
  9. Romeu is going to have his work cut out trying to keep Kante qiuet. JWP, Redmond and Armstrong aren't exactly going to be much help in the tackling derpartment.
  10. Didn't old saggy chops loan about 4 Spurs players to The Skates when they had a Transfer Ban and knocked us out of the Fa Cup at SMS? Of course the answer is null and void as they didn't need to comply with any rules Morally, FA/FL, HMRC or any other rules you could name
  11. Two complaints I make so often that I even bore myself to death with the repetition!! Such basics .... yet we virtually always lose possession from throw ins. Haven't noticed if RaHa's approach to defending corners is to have everyone back. Leave someone like Redmond up with pace and very unlikely to win a header in the box anyway, this means the opposition have to leave at least 2 defenders back near the halfway line instead of on the edge of our box. I'm glad to see that he has ditched the rediculous zonal marking from dead balls though.
  12. My favourite picture of The Dell ever!! The culmination of the best few days to have been a Saints Fan. The Milton Road End on Mick Channon's Testimonial May 76.
  13. LOL!! I see what you did there .... bogey team ..... Also probably factually right. Can only think of 1 win v them since we returned to The Prem .... 2-1 end of season a few years back when the wheels were falling off their Title challlenge and handed it to Leicester on a plate!!
  14. To qualify for Jack Carlton's World Cup Squad, I think you ad to prove that you had drunk at least 1 pint in your lifetime, or if not, that your Mum, Dad, Gran or Grandad had
  15. The pony tailed ponce and Mark Noble are 2 of the most dispicable players in the league. Forever wingeing to the ref for every tackle against them yet annoyingly always seem to be amongst the goals against us. Would love to dish out a spanking to them and get us moving up the table. Remember their Supporters Club hiring a pleasure craft on The Thames for a celebrate Automatic Promotion Party, but had to cancel it as we came 2nd .... smug ghets!!
  16. We were so slow and predictable with the last 3 managers, although Hughes did try and get them to play forward passes more .... now just about every time a player gets the ball, the first reaction is to go into attack mode rather than make painfully slow passes across the halway line which eventually leads to an aimless punt and possesion lost. Positive tactics inspires positive performances and encourages more effort as you are more likely to create chances rather than keeping possession for the sake of it.
  17. Binning the absolutely awlful zonal marking from dead balls was an excellent start that's for sure.
  18. Getting back to the days of bloodying the noses of the big boys rather than lying down and getting torn a new one makes up for a lot of the misgivings I have about The Prem to be honest. I can quite happily live with being in The Prem if we continue with this renewed appetite to at least try and compete against the Big Guns. I reckon I'd be walking around with a boner for a few days if we gave Liverpool a tonking at SMS ..... which I certainly wouldn't get beating the likes of Brentford, Rotherham or Wigan!!
  19. WTF does that mean? McCarthy has made some brilliant contributions this season, the defence has done him no favours at all though.
  20. Looking forward to seeing Moyes tell The Press that he'd be interested in talking to them about the job Bizarrely I saw a post that said his previous contract at them would still have 6 months left to run on it ..... so maybe they'll let him do it for free seeing as he's been paid off for the rest of his contract!!
  21. Happy Ending? Was it a Thai beer
  22. Getting Bertrand getting back up to his levels of 2 years ago would be like getting a new player for free!!
  23. The problem is lunchtime kick offs aren't condusive to a great noisy atmosphere .... not enough booze consumed for the boozy element, and empty rumbling stomachs angry at missing out on Full On Sunday Roast and having to make do with a soggy pie or bag of crisps!!
  24. SSSSShhhhhh ........ don't tell Arsenal!! We've told them it is on Sunday but it is actually on Saturday. Reckon we might get a draw out of this game now
  25. Bald Romeu = Booked Romeu ..... pretty sure refs used to book him for looking like a thug!! He couldn't pull off the pained "I didn't touch him ref" look of innocence at all!!
