Part of the coping mechanism

Dismal today again at Hillsborough. No home win since 1st Jan. Will drop Danny off at your place tomorrow.

I would suggest that Danny Rohl has done this with Wednesday. A fair few of the Squad are part of the League One team and have definitely punched above their weight since DR arriving in October 23. What we have not really seen is what he is like with a decent amount of money to spend. The bulk of what has been spent though has been wasted on Ugbo.

He did mastermind two Man United victories ......... against Leicester.

All the above is correct re Danny Rohl. What I would add for a bit a background for you guys on the South Coast is regarding his backroom team which is very experienced. There is Henrik Pederson, ex Red Bull guy and then subsequently Manager in his own right who left being a Manager in Denmark to join Rohl, along with Chris Powell who is vastly experienced. Rumours in Sheffield are that neither want to leave and could quite possibly be Wednesdays new Management team. Pederson is rumoured to be the tactics guy and Powell is just a breath of fresh air. Not bringing these two with him may dilute Danny's talents. There is also Sascha Lense who is team Psychologist who I believe DR has worked with previously. He is also Timo Werners Father in Law.

I think in your position I would too. There is no doubt however Rohl will go on to be a top class Manager. Realistically if he had not been Ralphs assistant you would not be linked.

We do rate him especially after last seasons rescue act. Danny has worked to a certain extent with one hand tied behind his back with this owner but also don't believe he is the messiah we perhaps thought. We are on course for our worst home record for 50 years and a good run of away results have really kept us away from a relegation struggle. We seem to have very slow starts in games and have relied on a few comebacks, which in itself is a good thing. Also he brought in 9 players in the Summer and very few have been a success as well as wasting the money we had on Ike Ugbo who has no goals or assists in 30 games. The team are still very reliant on the old guard of Bannan and Windass etc. Do we want to keep DR - yes, but surprised other teams are looking at him as they are.

You can stop thinking up Danny Rohl songs as a very trusted ITK person up these parts has confirmed nothing to see and DR is not interested in the Southampton job, if in fact there has been an approach however minor. Think its only a matter of time though as his stock / ambitions are rising and Wednesday in its current ownership model will not be able to match. As his young Family are still in Germany any link for a decent job over there has more viability.

Was this before, during or after he took training in Sheffield today ?

As a Wednesday fan I would say our current style falls between the two. Realistically I don't think we have the players to truly play the way Danny would like hence we are a bit of a hybrid. Strat of the season we were pressing high and harrying big style but that has dropped off. We do change formations a lot during games and he generally uses all his subs. As our record shows we are a better away side than home as really struggle put sustained attacking impetus together and better on the counter really hence the recent away results. We have won 1 in 7 at home and the football has been pretty drab. I have no doubt Danny will go very high in the game but in reality without your previous link you would not be looking at him as an option.

As a Wednesday fan we have feared Southampton looking for a new Manager as with Danny's previous links to your club thought there was a chance you would come calling what with his success over the last 12 Months. Danny has done wonders at Wednesday and is hero worshipped but realistically the Club are built on quicksand under the ownership of Dejphon Chansiri and can certainly see even a relegation bound Saints as being a better more stable option for Danny to progress. What may put you off though is the compensation demands. Rumour has it up to £10m. If you are paying off RM at the same time could see you look at a free agent. Undoubtedly Danny is on the up and I reckon he will manage a Champions League Club at some point but just hoping he serves out his training at Wednesday for a while longer. Also clutching at straws but don't believe he would be in the running without the previous link.
