It's strange that a thriving town/football team often seem to go hand in hand, I do believe that the profile of Southampton City has dropped significantly since relegation! Imagine getting 32k or more into SMS again each home game with an exciting mix of proven quality players and the crop of the best youngsters, then develop the area with bars restaurants a hotel etc. Add in Sky money, corporate hospitality, being able to tap into an academy of players either for income or to play, with that in place the financial backing to sustain all the above will be there. It will take a lot to turn the club/city into a thriving commercial area again but the rewards could be huge with the club as a center piece!

As much chance of that as P*mpey building their own I suppose

Can't comment really, maybe to force a hand, I don't know?

Which main man is that??

If the proposed takeover wasn't about to happen and proved as such the banks may have called the loan in by now, although I can't prove as such
-
I wouldn't dare guess and post on here

It could have been too late already

Yes. It could also be the case that Saints would be in administration by now if this deal wasn't about to go through so RL needs to go to get his tuppence of investment back and quick!

As has been said before, the consortium were told to put up or shut up, now is the time to put up. When a tranche of shares has been purchased the LSE will notify us we don't NEED to be in an offer period for the club to be sold. At least RL has agreed to sell up and move on to allow ambition to reign at SFC again! Lets face it, if Shearer has agreed to join he would expect a decent transfer kitty has been allocated to him otherwise he would be making a difficult job even harder on himself!

I'm sorry you can't post anymore Welshy unless you pays your £5, but by our own admission you don't attend away games so you can't comment on the 3k(ish) CCFC fans trying to storm the fences separating the fans, or the ones running up behind people and giving them a kick in the hoop whilst merely walking through our city. That was by no means a minority, at NP that would be, but by my reckoning the MAJORITY of away followers are more than happy to have a pop at anyone who looks easy target.

I didn't go to the Bristol game last season due to holidays, the only team that has come close to CCFC was Millwall in recent history, the majority of CCFC fans it appears are very proud of their rep and do their best to upkeep it, hence the running through city center battering anything in their path. Whilst generalisations are often incorrect I see CCFC as doing very little to get rid of their thugs. All that said I know we have our element of nutters but I still feel CCFC are the or amongst the worst of what is wrong with following football. IMHO

Does this sort of thing happen often in Cardiff? I am well aware of the travelling support you muster that feels the need to go through a town and pick on innocent people as you did in Soton, I also wouldn't say it was a minority either. In my view you should be playing in the Welsh league, maybe we could swap you for Hereford?

Thats far to say yes, we have shown that we can play some really good football with the lads showing passion and fight, however ???marks over strength and being able to last a season are still there.
-
Yes thanks, a very excited one!!
-
Thats the way I see it also, I just hope that burnout doesn't happen, it is alot to ask of these youngsters to last the whole season. If we can consolidate this season, the next could be a good side able to compete near the top.

I can't state it as fact as it hasn't happened, yet! I don't think that the forming of Asturius is a coincidence either
-
Don't be surprised if AS is instated as manager very soon, and that doesn't mean the dutch duo will be leaving! I also believe that if the takeover happens before the month end significant strengthening of the squad will happen..we need investment badly anyone who thinks different is deluded. Good times are ahead IMO

Not voted yet, will wait till after the Stoke game tonight

Got to be worth a couple a quid on GR, does it still count if he moves club?
-
I do believe that if we keep it simple with quick passing and especially movement we can play our way around the bruisers. One thing I did find apparent is that these players have an understanding between them which will not only help with the quick play but I also think they will stick up for each other and even give a good kick in the shins back at them. From the WHU game we certainly were not afraid to get stuck in, saying that I don't know how well we will cope in the box from the high balls and the hustle and bustle that comes with it against a taller more physical side.

Good point, can we even fit 25k now?

Got to be looking for 25k+ f'sure
