  1. Born 1936 at Kent Street Northam, a hop, step and jump from St.Marys Stadium and opposite Northam Primary School. Joined the Boys Brigade 10th Southampton aged ten till seventeen and was priviledged to be coached by Saints George Curtis, the extremely clever forward. The only player who could make opponents fall over without touching them ! Moved to Sydney in 1967 and been here ever since, but try to see the matches every time I visit. Delighted that Foxtel broadcasts every match live in Australia starting last year and costing a well worth $16 a month !! Saints, PLEASE STAY IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE !
  2. The big treat here is the entree of huge cooked prawns, 4 to 6 inches long and still swimming in the ocean on Christmas Eve. The drawback ? Twenty quid a kilo bought at 6am on Christmas Day from the Sydney Fish Markets. Followed by the usual Turkey,Leg Ham off the bone, roast veggies or salad (depending on the weather), Christmas pudding and custard plus a Christmas Trifle with lots of sherry ! Finish that lot off with mince pies and a cheese and fresh fruit platter........then a nice long sleep !! Merry Xmas !
  3. Sunday 2am Fox Sports 1
  4. My pride and joy, a light green 3.5 V.8 Rover Vanden Plas, bought new 1982 and sent to the wreckers in 2006, 24 years later. Always garaged in Sydney, did three wonderful trips around Australia as part of the 330,000km(206,000 miles) lifespan, admired by all and sundry wherever we drove, especially in the remote settlements. Sooo comfortable in all conditions, thankyou Rover.
  5. Think I've raised the bar to new heights. 74 and 9/12ths and still philandering. (Bit of a flirt, if your vocabulary is minimal.) My only visit to Glastonbury resulted in two days of mud and rain with everyone happily stoned. Maybe different now ???
  6. Not going anywhere this year. No need to, have already lived in the Worlds best holiday experience for the last 45 years, SYDNEY !! SOUTHAMPTON before that.
  7. If the Albion Band has gone the way of most "good" music, then bring on the Salvos and play "pass the bucket" at half-time.
  8. Nobody mentioned TAUNTONS ?? Up the Avenue, loved smashing King Edwards at lunchtime in the Common. 1948 to 1954 in case you are curious.
  9. When the Datsun 240zx came out in the seventies it was an immediate world-beater for quality and price. The 260 continued in the same vein and then the 300 replaced it. Still sporty and solid, the targa roof is a must, and seven grand will get you a good one.
  10. Sydney Swans forever. OOPS, sorry, wrong code !!!!
  11. A big thankyou for posting that Sky 2 Sports thread. I was resigned to reading the BBC teleprinter every two minutes but received the full match live (and free !). Only trouble was that there was no sound, but the goals made up for it. Better go to bed, it's 2am Monday here in Sydney and work calls shortly ! Cheers again.
  12. My teenage years were spent idolising the likes of Alf Ramsey, Bill Ellerington, Ted Bates and someone who rarely gets a mention anywhere these days...... George Curtis ! George could make opponents fall flat on their face without touching them, I'm living proof. I'm talking 1950ish, that's old !
