Fuck me. Fourteen days reduced to a maximum of six hours. C**ts. At least make the bastards work until midnight.
-
Back in the noughties I lived very close to Fulham's training pitches. They were surrounded by fencing which you could easily see through, and on public pavements which were on all four sides. You could just stand and watch them train. This whole thing has a snowball effect that has got way out of proportion, like the punishment.
-
They had the opportunity to postpone the second leg and didn't react quickly enough. The EFL are a client of the body responsible for the decision. Surely a conflict of interest. They are ignoring their own rule of allowing 14 days for the appeals process and kangaroo courting it in to 24 hours. So yes, we've fucked up, but they are a truly shit organisation.
-
The first comment I heard from the media was that he was on a grassy knoll. I thought they'd found out who shot JFK. Turns out it was an even bigger conspiracy than that one.
-
Let's say we're kicked out. We appeal. Everything is delayed. Whilst this is on-going, we lose Ross and Larin to the world cup, our two key forwards. We sue FIFA and delay the world cup. So many wormholes in this 😅
-
Exactly. The Swindon case means the EFL can say rejecting us is not unique, even if the circumstances are very different. Have I just agreed with you MLG 🤣
-
For sure, hence my finger in the air comment. Most footballing bodies are generally incompetent and the fact they instigated a rule without defining a list of punishments for breaking that rule is unprofessional. They've left themselves open I think to potential lawsuits no matter what is recommended/decided.
-
Is there a precedent for a club being ejected from a competition for something they did off the field? Or is this finger in the air stuff ? Also, the independent panel I understand is run by Sports Resolution, who list the EFL as a client. So, truly independent? There's a slight conflict on interest there. Also, why didn't the EFL postpone the second leg, given the story was already out there. Surely that would have given them more options. Just my own personal observations. Who knows if we'll ever get the whole truth, but what I do know is that I don't want Boro anywhere near the final given their petty vindictiveness.
-
Unless the ref heard it, can't see anything being done about it?
-
Boro fans in proper meltdown on the BBC thread. Apparently we're the worst fans in the game and we'll be banned from the competition before the final. Idiot commentators on Sky already predicting Hull will beat us. Let's fucking smash them. The media will hate it 🤣
-
We are always weaker defensively with Charles but maybe better going forward. Swings and roundabouts. Prefer him off the bench with Downes or Bragg starting with Jander. Need to settle now.
-
Positives: Came back twice to keep us in it, still unbeaten on this run, play offs guaranteed, no obvious injuries and no red cards. Negatives: Can't play like that in the play offs, if we beat Ipswich it could just hand second to Millwall rather than help us now. Ref was utter shit.
-
Football is sadly predictable. Can't blame Tonda, the players all look like they've decided to take their foot off the gas for the Wembley trip. Often happens. Play offs still pretty impressive from where we were.
-
That puts this into perspective in a tough, tough league. Wow.

@Turkish I still reckon whatever you did was probably both immoral and illegal but it f***ing works 🤣
