  1. It will be the both down anti climax referred to above WAD IMHO.
  2. why are none of the players wearing any?? surely asking for unnecessary injuries?
  3. so I reckon a gritty 1-1 draw at best, but not to get upset if we lose, no shame, they are full of good players, we have many far more winnable games. COYS!!!!!!!!
  4. I hope the Charlton offer with the aim of a big gate does not backfire on us like Notts Forest! Be even better if we were out of the mire by then anyway!
  5. Nothing like the winning feeling, the drug we all crave... Still a bit concerned about the right side of the team, but lets play to our strengths! COYR!!!!!!!!!
  6. The FL have refused his loan to Cherries - but why? he could play right wing.
  7. I would add BWP instead of Lallana on the right wing to your experienced 442.
  8. At least next season we can get to Wembley in the Johnstones Paint Final....!!!!
  9. Ted Bates managed real men, not overpaid pampered big heads like the majority of modern premier players. Lawrie mac arguably had the most awkward mix and got most out of them in 1984 when we were genuinely a bloody good team, fit, entertaining, much better even than late 2003. With Ted in the background, fantastic leadership.
  10. So many games watched, cant remember a thing, (mostly the last two seasons!!) but that day it all sticks! never went down so many terrace steps when we scored ever again, sheer bliss! Oh for the chance again to wipe out 2005 now. one day......
  11. And Saga has been back for another week, Doncaster play on the deck, so 3-1 or perhaps 2 or 3-0 even as they dont score many.
  12. Also, why dont we now play Norwich next Saturday as we are both out of the FACup, save a long midweek trip and game, more time for rest, or is that being too sensible?? expect usual drivel about police, pre sold tickets blah blah....
  13. What a performance.....should play the video of that to the team before every game! Marian was never the same after that thug at Swindon took him out with a two footed tackle in a pre season friendly, appalling challenge.
  14. That none of you have mentioned McGlaggon, who to me has been the brightest spark on the pitch for a while, and 10x the player Smith is. He should be on the bench at least for throwing on for the last 30 minutes IMHO.
  15. for those of us old enough to have been there and I know there are many on here who were, the Cup Final will never ever be bettered as a win against MU, it just meant so much, and still does, seeing the ball go past stepney still brings a shiver down the spine, the split second of disbelief, followed by complete pandemonium!! The top tier of the old stadium was literally bouncing up and down, incredible memories...
  16. All I wanted was 6 points nothing else, as then I knew so many others would be happy as well......thanks a bunch SFC!!!!!!!!
  17. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. When 6 of them are not even playing for the team at present!
  19. very sad to report but Kev is now suffering memory loss etc... And it did pour down that day, we sat on the side directly under the edge of the old roof and it dripped on us non stop! But the game kept the cold out tho.
  20. Just look at Burnley beating Young Guns last nite!
  21. We will be back to send you down.....!!! If they sing it again, could be poignant!!
  22. yep, 43 years and still obsessed, madly deeply truly in love, still heartbroken and sad too much, but the memory of the good and really good times is much deeper in the well than this current puddle; another 43 would be not long enough...!
  23. As I wore my new reduced £30 away shirt on Saturday afternoon it is clearly lucky, so I will have it on and we will win 2-0 no sweat!!!!!
  24. Like Bridgey. Who scored most goals, got in crosses, made tackles and blocks ie defended and attacked with real effect - I bet David Peach would come out on top just ahead of Denis Hollywood.
  25. Up until now had not seen anything on TV but from that picture I would have sent both off, as the follow through contact from either could have resulted in a broken leg - Euell has his studs up high and Stearman is stamping in effect, not pretty either way.
