Such fine lines again as always in games like this...MOTD highlighted the non closing down for the third goal, that was Armstrongs job as the late sub, that counts as a mistake as much as Jack v cardifff.
-
Long will start and do his 60 minutes instead of Charlie the impact sub; I think we have more chance of getting a point from this game than Spurs at home for some reason - perhaps because of a feel good off a win and up to speed match wise rather than the lethargy v arsenal. Otherwise the same team.
-
It will be Shane, although I would rather see Sam start, then bring on Obafemi after an hour, pace always works against teams later on in the game
-
Bites you in the bum when you try and take the mickey out of them at the moment though....
-
She is probably waiting to buy back the 80% at a knock down price from the Bank of HK in due course, cute move...
-
Question is; IF Ings, Lemina and Armstrong had all been fit and selected with Yoshida would we have won the game in a different way/ a canter? If the answer is yes then we have hope for the remaining 12 games
-
I think alot of you forget how many mistakes Yoshi has made always one a game in him and he cannot pass or drive out of defence like Jack; his headiong out is often weak as well. In a nutshell he gives me the jitters every time he plays.
-
Win we stay up - lose we will go down; the ramifications of this game are huge, that is why I fear it will be an edgy affair that could easily go either way. Oh how I long for a stress free open 4-0 win like in the recent past.....
-
Quite how he got on the pitch and not Shane Long is really odd....
-
Just bound to 'appen lad...

Has anyone acknowledged in this thread that PEH had a bad knock on his head that really didnt help him/probably should have gone straight off? Also McCarthy dealt with crosses really well vEverton but last night in the second half got consistently blocked off/fouled. Give the guys a little bit of slack please, rather than continually trying to find a scapegoat or write them off
-
Slightly concerning we are losing experience in the squad to be passed on to the younger players now being rightfully included; I will be happy though if we get a striker which we have needed for a long time and even more now we have sold Gabbi and probably Chaz
-
What strikes me is how Jack Jan and Jannick are all better as a three man defence rather than any combination as two central defenders
-
Rather than the next 5 look at the next three, as there is a big gap between game 3 and 4; have to aim for at least 7 from those , the hard one will be Burnley away after a Wednesday game, another physical battle. Did we do the double over a team last season?
-
Before the game I would have taken a draw ....but at the end, screaming like mad for 5 minutes at the front of the Northam (just like old times hank god at last) I would have run on and gone for that ref if we hadnt won!!!

Is it time to give Angus Gunn a run in the PL
fanimal replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
He was actually MOTM yesterday keeping the score down by a fair few, FGS do not slate him for one mistake; mind you the real MOTM was that inept referee who completely altered the shift of the game with two terrible decisions. Roll on VAR but how will it work with a penalty claim denied and the ball still in play? Reviews like cricket? -
I think we will do much better and get a draw. Usual caveat of need a little bit of luck and a referee who can actually see.
-
To be honest, we would be better off with Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick up front......
-
Would take a draw now says the heart but the head says a thumping and hopefully City will sit back and rest after an hour. On that basis park the bus, keep it down to 0-1 then hit them hard in the last 30
-
Same team if injuries/suspensions permit, Bednarek has to play, Yoshida just stand in the middle and clear everything keep it simple again; Hopefully Ings and Redmond are ok, also have to keep the following Thursday in mind.

Saints 3 - Arsenal 2 - I should start threads more often

Nic eto beat a team of screaming roly polys -
Marcus Barnes is a 22 year old forward, correct? It must be hit or bust time for him surely at that age? Give the lad a go, as I keep saying, he cannot be any worse than the sheer incompetence we have had to endure the last two years!
-
This is a 7 pointer game make no mistake. man up time.
-
!. Buy a proper centre forward 2. Get Sam Gallagher fit 3. get Gabbiadini scoring 4. get Ings fit 5. failing that, get Carillo back
-
Talk about starting off in the deep end! Tottenham away at Wembley Stadium! Bigger than a Rabbit Hutch, but a view as high as the Austrian Alps!
