Saints 2-3 Liverpool - Match Thread
Football Special replied to Weston Super Saint's topic in The Saints
It's an interesting question, and for some fans the answer is now no we don't. I know of two season ticket holders who have already sold their seats back in the ticket exchange, I'm sure there are plenty more. Club love it as they just stick 1/19th of the season ticket price as a credit on your account and get to sell your seat again at the full category A match price, nice little extra profit in it for them. -

We don't want to show them all our tricks, need to keep something back for the more important Carabao fixture in a few weeks. Liverpool's last visit to St Mary's featured some calamity moments, Carry On Defending it should have been called, need to get that Kamaldeen mush back involved what a player he looks to be -

Where we end up with 4 wingers on the pitch plus Onuacho but no one actually crossing the ball -

I did notice in that clip that defenders were comfortable on the ball and passed it out from the back, I thought Russ invented that? I don't think he was born then so must have gone back in time and left instructions for Lawrie Mac. -

It's not been a great international break for the club, awaiting news on how long Ramsdale and Bednarek will be out for, obviously miss this game. Mccarthy to be beaten at near post by Salah seems a likely scenario -

Another option is to avoid watching the game and spend 90 mins watching these instead -

I'd love to see our Russ get the opportunity to recreate this moment on Sunday -
I see he started both games for England u21s , anyone watch? How did he do?

Those blocks are sold out I think, family members have tickets in block 30, most of the Kingsland and Itchen stands are sold , its behind the goals and corners where loads of availability still, makes sense as it's same price all over the ground the "prime" seats sold first. Dread to think how many plastic southern Liverpool fans will be in there.

He's already been at Man City and realised he had to leave to get these opportunities so would hope he wouldn't rush back to a top 6 until he's established himself a bit more Good to see Livramento doing well after that bad injury he had with us
-
I'm pretty sure JWP scored perhaps against San Marino?
-
And Russell Martin, won't be pleased with him picking up these habits when he could have headed it back to a team mate and retain possession
-
Away to Newcastle at St James Park this weekend, expecting a big crowd , good experience for the ladies
-
And don't we just know it !
-
There was a complacency at the club in the summer that it was just a matter of time until we off loaded some players, they were expecting higher bids for KWP and Onuacho , hoped ABK was going for a few quid to Germany , Edozie was being touted around looking for someone to take him , also hoped Kamaldeen would go, possible all of them could go in Jan depending on offers, except obviously Edozie who has a season long loan. If Ross Stewart regains fitness that will feel like a new signing 😃

Need to get Edwards out on loan for 6 months in January, get him playing some regular football in championship or league one.
-
The club already believe the squad is too big, I can't see us bringing anyone in, but if we do need to offload some first, hopefully can cancel the loans and roll the dice on a couple of new ones that can contribute more than our current ones.

You have to laugh don't you, what a clown. What's worse is then backing that manager with a club record buy of Guido Carillo followed by shortly afterwards sacking the manager then eventually having to pay Carillo to leave. Really really poor management
-
Does all that money spent include the millions paid to Luton to buy Nathan Jones out of his contract and then also kept paying him after sacking? Eye watering wastage , the January 2023 transfer window might as well have just driven around Southampton throwing cash out of the window , shocking really Onuacho, Kamaldeen, Orsic , £50 million pounds , scouting and player recruitment department should be put in the stocks outside St Mary's
-
Correct, payments continue monthly unless an agreement is reached to pay off X amount on the basis the manager agrees to early termination of contract.
-
I'd been banking on some other teams getting points deduction, now that's not happened we're nailed on 20th place, sad state of affairs
-
He's not being sacked, certainly in the short term
-
Competition is a complete waste of time for all concerned
-
You're allowed to take segregation out of the allocation so the 3000 allocation plus seats lost to segregation can = 10% . Season ticket holders can buy up to 4 tickets each from today on one customer number so I'm sure sales will pick up as people buy for mates. Wednesday 13th November: 9:30am – Season Ticket Holder additional (4 tickets per supporter number) Thursday 14th November: 9:30am – Supporters with a booking history from 2021/22 season onwards. (4 tickets per supporter number)

I believe FA Cup rule is 15% capacity but league Cup is 10%? But no obligation for us to offer more. Must admit thought we'd give them extra as we won't sell them, two years ago v Man City tickets were cheaper and crowd was only 22,996 including 3k City in the same round. Having said that Man City's own end was on general sale and only just sold out so no demand from them whereas Liverpool will sell theirs easily and have loads of local glory hunters in the home end
