  1. Great for you McFly. But I will never become a brand new target of yours. So forget about that. You obviously suffer from NPD ✔️ - heavy end of the spectrum. I keep distance from such people - people like you -as should everybody else. Very disappointing that a heavy NPD like you has managed to stay here as a member, I must say.
  2. I like that interpretation 6ft8saint 👍 , and you're obviously a normal, good person, but , honestly, "friendly banter"? No I certainly don't think so.. And take a look again at the sh*t "C B FRY" (McFly or McFry seems a more fitting name for this lame dude) wrote in the forum about Russell Martin last year, including "an open letter" threat to the board of SFC - after a set back in the league. In September.. "24 september 2023 This is what you have fucking done to us Russell Martin. This is what you have done. We're on to the "open letters" to the board already, and the clocks haven't even gone back yet". This dude, who calls himself C B Fry ( a name he obviously took from a well known cricketer / author / etc. ) does certainly not seem "friendly" or educated at all in normal, social behaviour, and I expect him to try and target me continuously with the NPD or whatever he's suffering from.
  3. Don't know what you mean. Before I cut you off completely, because it doesn't make sense corresponding with somebody so hostile and abusive as you, I ask again: Are you really a genuine Saints supporter? or are you primarily here because you and your personality take joy in targeting Saints fans who may have other opinions than you? And take joy in being abusive, threatening and hostile towards our manager?
  4. Answer your question? 😆 Not necessary if you can read , process and interpret information from people like yourself which I'm sure you are capaple of. Are you not yourself the perfect example of an arch type negative **** **** fan with your negative, hostile, abusive comments on the forum - even including your embarrassing attack directed at our manager last season in September. You are wasting my time. Too often your comments are brainless.
  5. Wow! After a difficult, painful september last season Mr. "anger management" himself, CB Fry, surprisingly jumped to his keyboard and attacked our manager. "This is what you have fucking done to us Russell Martin. This is what you have done. We're on to the "open letters" to the board already, and the clocks haven't even gone back yet." Dream comment 👆 Received a doctorate, did ya?
  6. God damn. Hold it right there pal. Who the hell do you think you are? Describing my comment as "a fucking great strawman argument in order to position myself as some kind of super megafan"... I don't think hostile and abusive language like that is allowed here, McFry. For more than 4 decades I have been a big Saints fan. You? I know SFC very well since 1980 when my support began and I love my club. You? I always try to be positive about my club and the people who run it - especially when I feel that the people in charge work hard for progress. I'm quite optimistic before the 24/25 season. I have explained why in a friendly way. I don't hide my optimism and I don't support too much moaning and negativity before the season has even begun as it will undoubtly do the club or fan base no good - ultimately shut down the forum as happened with the saintsforever forum back in the day (while U were a little boy wearing a diper?) How does my optimism and joy of Saints being back in the PL make you uncomfortable / angry or whatever negative feeling?? Calling me a "strawman" wanting to "position myself" as a "super megafan"? What's your f*cking problem dude? NPD? Troll? Portsmouth fan in disguise? Basically, we should all be "SFC friends" here in some capacity and treat each other nicely whether we agree on discussions or not - if we are genuine Saints fans. Are you a genuine Saints fan or just here to target people for abuse?
  7. Ok but I think we will sign a new first keeper before the window shuts down.
  8. Agreed. I hope RM sees it the same way - Alex M as a decent back up. Because why would Big Al peak now? It happens that a keeper peaks in his mid thirties, we've seen that before, but still...
  9. An Antti Niemi eqivalent would be most welcome 👍. He was affordable and bought when we already had, imo, an ok first keeper in Paul Jones. The keeper position is without doubt extremely important and I would be surprised if we are not looking with Bazunu out. That said - Alex M. was player of the season back in 2017/2018 (when he played cirka half the season) and he did very well in the play offs , so it's ok with me that he is still with us.
  10. Good (discussion) point. Yes, we can and should certainly learn / take inspiration from other clubs. I don't know why some of us are so helplessly pessimistic and think we are already relegated before the transfer window is even closed and a ball has even been kicked.
  11. I wish you more optimism Mr. Fry.
  12. I'm talking about the DNA of our club in the context of surviving in the best league in England. I'm tryin' to bring forward a little optimism. You think we are already relegated. That's ok 👍
  13. Ok Ok...., and I don't wanna sound like an 'elite division survival stats nerd' (maybe I am) , but as I see it (and let me add btw that we are not bottom 3 lowest budget in the prem I don't think). 1978 - 2005: elite division. 27 years in a row. ✔️ 2012 - 2023: elite division. 11 years in a row. ✔️ Bottom line: 38 out of the last 46 seasons in the elite division. ✔️ Isn't that ok elite division football club DNA ✔️ ? I mean how many of the current elite teams have done better when it comes to staying in the elite division since the late 70's? Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, Man.U., Everton, Chelsea and not many more, if any. I´m not sure even Man. City have played 38 out of the last 46 seasons in the elite division. 😊
  14. 👍 Let's hope Fraser, who I think is PL level, returns and that we sign a classy PL keeper and Matt O'Riley (or Haji Wright?). I think David Brooks might return too and then, from my perspective, it does not look so dark.... We still have the best fans, and that means a lot as does the fact that Russell is a proper manager in my humble opinion.
  15. Hold on. Try to keep calm, cool and collected, please. I know this is a cliche and I know I'm an older Saints fan who therefore remembers when we were pretty serious contenders for the league title in some seasons during the early 80s, BUT: What about the DNA of our club? Is it bad DNA? 1. We are, respectfully, NOT a small club like for instance Brentford and Bournemouth. 2. We are at least a medium size club, well known for a fine academy having developed many great players scouted at a young age from all over Britain. 3. St. Mary's is a "UEFA 4 stars" 30.000 plus stadium suited for international games (in contrast to for example Brentfords and Bournemouths not so great stadiums). 4. We have 36 seasons out of 44 seasons in the best league since 1980 (when I became a Saints supporter) = MUCH better than mighty West Ham, mighty Wolves, mighty Leeds, mighty Villa, Brighton, Palace, Leicester, Brentford, Ipswich and other current PL clubs for that matter as far as I'm aware.. Does that not count for anything? Add to that a young, ambitious, skillful, visionary, exciting and lovely manager like RM plus the momentum we can carry with us from a great last season in the championship. Yes, I know times have changed, football has changed, but in how many seasons in the top flight have we been relegated since 1980? NOT many. I'm looking for more optimism here. Faith in our club. I trust that we will be as competitive and ready as other clubs similar to us in size and wealth when the PL 24/25 season begins in a couple of weeks. That said, we will hopefuly bring in more players before the window closes to strengthen the team 👍
  16. I can't believe what happened to Kamaldeen Sulemana. He burned off the Danish Super League when he was 18 and ev.body thought he would be sold for a billion to an ok club abroad..... He went to league un in France, Rennes I believe, didn't pull up trees there, and ended with us for a far too high price and has produced close to NOTHING with us. SO frustrating. 🤔
  17. Ok 👍 12m, but not a cent more and only if he has 1+ years left of his contract with the sky blues. I like him. Quick feet, moves the ball forward with ease and has great vision. To be fair Coventry should have been promoted in stead of Luton Town.
  18. How come nobody mentioned - till' now - that Smallbone actually nutmegged Ampadu, the Leeds captain, when putting through Arma to score a fine goal = the only goal of this years Championship play off final....
  19. "THE nut meg killer pass" from Smallbone to Arma in THAT match, one might add 😎
  20. Sorry, I over-thought it 👍 - eager to point out a flexible 3-5-2 / 4-4-3 formation 😎 I think I'll take Edozie out and go with a 3-5-2 formation as a starting formation away from home
  21. Sorry, I over-thought it 👍 - eager to point out a flexible 3-5-2 / 4-4-3 formation I'll take Edozie out and go with a 3-5-2 formation as a starting formation away from home
  22. Status: If everybody fit. Would this team be LOST vs N'castle away? System: A flexible 3-2-5 Keeper Mc'Carthy . CBs: THB , Janny B., Stephens Wing backs Right: KWP (if sold -> Sugawara), Left: Charlie Taylor (Ryan Fraser may join us before N'Castle (I hope) and be an alternative as left Wb/winger) No. 6: Downes (S. Charles probably the only alternative right now) No 8's: 1. Smallbone 2. Aribo R.Wing: Arma Center->Left Forward: BBD Subs from: Manning Kamaldeen Ross Stewart Amo-A Dibling Alcaraz Ronnie E Nathan W Mara Lallana Lumley
  23. If Lallana is true to his word from around early 2012 he did himself learn a hell of a lot back in the day from - among others - David Connolly, and hopefully 1) will pass on knowledge himself 2) play in the cup competitions when we rest midfield league starters 3) do cameos in the league when fit, 5 - 30 minutes at a time.
  24. Well..... He is in the form of his life. If we end as 10 in the table and can sell him for 40 in 2 years --- 25+ is a fine investment. We have to trust the club if we come up with a silly offer. Personally I would be really happy if we get him.
