F*ck. Ipswich signed Broja too...?????
-
I thinks so too . Maybe Bournemouth too.
-
Maybe. But little chance of that imo. They were away from the PL for more than 20 years and must feel a little alienated to the prem, so - on the whole - I'm far from sure they'll finish above us. On the contrary. New portuguese midfielder coming in I read , but we still need a PL quality keeper that fits our system. Maybe a winger and a striker more.
-
I agree. Pisses me off too. Not that he is a bad young player but Van den Berg was probably never bought to play for Liverpool but to get hyped up and sold for double price to a desperate club. In this case Brentford.

KWP off?
-
Ok, then JWP must take a pay cut if he wants to come back. These players are ridiculously overpaid, and I can see JWP realizing that he has to play for less money if he wants the move.
-
I think JWP was already on a 100k in his last couple of seasons with us - as our best paid player. If he wants back to Saints , being nearer his family (based in Pmouth area), I think we should negotiate a deal if financially possible.

Welcome Lesley. I brings me calmness that we have more debth in our central midfield now. He seems like a - primarily - defensive midfielder, but I hope he has great athleticism and ability to learn fast -> can adapt quickly to our system and run from box to box. As Alfie House said on Twitter (didn't he?): "Good loan signing". Now we await the news of a new, good PL keeper. Then there is light ahead and genuine hope for a good season with us comfortably ending in top 17 as I see it 🌞

I wouldn't per se mind for a second if Ings came back, as I can see him score a few important goals for us, and he's the last Saints striker to get 20+ PL goals in a season. However, how much money would he demand per week?
-
Yes, but that way we wouldn't have had those 50 mill. for Romeo Lavia, I assume

Thank you 👍 never really heard of such a deal between a selling and a buying club before but I kind of like it. It seems sober enough. The player got his get out of relegated S.U. wish fulfilled, a proper pre-season at Villa and a new contract elsewhere. Ok
-
I'm a little confused but glad we got him. Villa sold him to S.U. last summer for around 18 mill. I get that 👍 , BUT was there an "immediate buy back" agreement in the event of S.U. relegation since Archer seems to have had a full pre-season with Villa? And have we therefore signed him from Villa?

Some good goals in there, yeah. I always thought his speed was one of his main attributes in his game. 15 million pounds. Sounds fairly exciting to be honest. Sign, seal, deliver and whole-heartedly welcome, Cameron Archer.

The Keegan signing from Hamburg, Keegan being at his absolute top, is still to this day qne of the wildest signings in football. For those of us old enough to remember nothing compares. I was really thrilled with the 600.000 pounds signing of David Armstrong from Middlesbrough in the early 80s. Really good business and one of Saints several cult players of the 80s. What a brilliant left legged attacking player. Loved his (lack of) hair. R.I.P. David. Re-signing Mick Channon from M. City was also a great signing. Talking about the last decade only, I loved our last-day-of-the-window-signings of Davis, VVD and Sadio Mane.

Most likely they found something not very alarming during ABKs medical - for instance on his ECG (ElectroCardioGraph) or they heard a heart valve sound with the stethoscope that does not sound 100 % normal - and such findings often requires for example an ultrasound examination of his heart by a cardiologist. This ultrasound (echocardiography) examination will most likely conclude that the findings have absolutely no "hemodynamic consequences". Happens every day that for instance a GP finds something with the stethoscope or ECT machine that he/she just can't interpret by themselves, so he/she refers the "patient" to a heart specialist, who typically finds that the heart and the heart valves / the heart rhytm etc. is fully ok. I am not , a priori , worried about ABKs health, and I'm pretty sure that his career is not threatened That said - yes, we have seen some horrible collapses on the football pitch. Christian Eriksen and Lutons Tom Lockyer for instance - heart arythmias that, unfortunately, typically , are impossible to foresee.

150 million would be fantastic, but I doubt that SR would be comfortable with spending such an amount of money. However, we should never forget that we actually sold players for more than 170 million pounds last summer (which unfortunately , more or less, went into a dark whole as I understand it). And then, yes, we made some pretty great loan signings last summer with Downes, THB, Fraser and (from January) Brooks. Manning on a free transfer was also totally ok, I thought. On the whole very well done to achieve promotion after having sold so many players. Was it 18 players who left the club after we were relegated?
-
ABK apparently didn't pass his medical at Hoffenheim Now what?
-
No more Garth Crooks ("The Fish")??? He always irritated the majority of Saints fans with his PL team of the week rubbish. Troy Deeney (currently out of jail) is more likeable - and was a great co-pundit at the championship play off final.
-
Good question. Unfortunately still undecided, I guess.
-
100 % 😎

Yes, a goal - most likely from Aribo - who was ready to receive a cut back from Sugawara to put the ball into an empty goal, was stolen because of the lines mans blindness.

Well, I'm not sure how bad our position is, but burying that question mark for now - apart from the Pochettino era, Koeman era and a portion of the Puel era, YES, we are most likely in for a very, very tough season 👍 On the whole, In my view, right now, we seem to be where we were in the majority of the 90s, where player prices and salaries really began to go through the roof, and where we had to battle REALLY hard - because of our limited budget and the small (but legendary) stadium - season after season - to maintain our elite division status, which we managed to do. Personally, I have strong belief in Russell Martins skills as manager - plus , after all, let's remind ourselves that we "just" have to stay above 3 teams to survive, for instance B'mouth (who just sold Solanke), Leicester (who may start with a point deduction AND finally lack the old rat Vardys magic), Ipswich (who might find it difficult to perceive themselves as a PL team after so many years), Nottingham Forest (unconvincing manager imo), Everton (who seem to keep continuously spiraling downwards), Brighton (new manager, seem to loose key player(s) again), Palace (loosing key players apparently) - and, not least, small club Brentford (who may finally run out of both player recruitment wonders and STEAM. especially when they sell Toney + Frank is a very serious contender for the job as manager of Denmarks national team within maximum the next 6 months). Call me naive if you want, but personally I think we can actually manage to survive for much more than a season, having seen Saints survive in the elite division for so many seasons since 1980 (1978 actually). If we keep hold of RM and if we can improve in developing youngsters and signing the right players at the right price, which I hope and believe we can, why should we go down and not 3 of the teams mentioned above? Just my opinion. Time will show. Come on you Saints 💪 Thank you.
-
I share that opinion as long as we do sign a couple of further new players or 3 in this window, which I think we will, but likely it won't happen until' the last day of the window.
-
Totally crazy. I suppose some regard him as the best English no. 9 in the premier league behind Ivan Toney. Other crazy things: L'pool sold him for 20 million to B'mouth. He scored 3 goals in 42 matches and B'mouth were relegated. In the championship he started to bang them in , B'mouth went back to the PL after 2 seasons , and now he is probably regarded as a striker who scores every third match on average ; for a small PL team , and.... Liverpool collect 20 % of the 65 million pounds from the sell-on clause they agreed on with B'mouth back in 2018, which means Liverpool will potentially earn further 13 million pounds on Solanke 🙄
