  1. It does appear an odd decision as they could be marched to SMS and then just drink in there then marched back. Hope the police wont be as stupid and let any without tickets into the Itchen for free as they did in the FA Cup game. Perhaps Millwall are classified as a safe family club now!
  2. Saints tickets now recalled by QRP so only £15 at gate no £10 tickets can be purchased from SMS as from 4pm today. **** was going to SMS friday to get one.
  3. 3200! dont think they have that many who go away with average 9800 for home games. But that could well boost the numbers to 20,000 to 22,000 which would be good for that leaque. About 20 teams in Div 3 (old name) had 10,000 or less average gate last season so lets not get to hopefull on gates as away fans wont be at full capacity.
  4. Charlton are full of the stuff you find at Skatesville, dont forget they also has that Curbishly git who If I remember corectly said saints were not good enough to stay up during the great escape. London clubs are full of rubbish, hope they get relegated again.
  5. Rather have AP than an alcoholic and gambler from skatesville. At least he has experience of getting teams promoted.
  6. At last, now lets get a team together!
  7. Stadium is in wrong place so fans put off certainly for driving and parking. Too many shops spread over large area to bet some people just spend all day in shops. The Docks is probally the only attraction , but a transit one ie those going on a cruise will see it. But I put the NO investor in the last 6 years down to the board and Lowe. Can you really think of 1 reason to invest during those incompetant years NO, you would have estimated that the club would go into Division 3 as we are now or bust as we almost are. The MTL consortium has at least given Saints a chance to build a `footballing ` operation not a yuppy duck shooting reverse takeover, we may just attact the investment we hoped for during 2003/4 in 5 years. PS I think Eastleigh has more attactions than Southampton!! Trainspotting hot spot Cinema Park Decent shops Spitfire monument (they had it years ago) Airport (Its actually in Eastleigh) Sports center (easy to get to and good parking) Lakeside Park Eastleigh FC (easy to get to and good parking for its capacity) Less traffic lights Less pot holes
  8. If the price is good. I would say £240-260 as some clubs come out at £11 on thier March madness but some are £300 ish and thats too much. Saints need to bite the bullet on raking in cash, Lowe has gone now so his £2.4m is not needed to be covered and wages should NOT be £8-15,000 a week unless the play makes considerable contribution to the peformace of the team like KD. The the recession and the possibility of Fords and who nows else being closed down Saints would be better pricing as cheap as possible then fans can fund now. Didnt we get 28K when the Forest game was £15 , just less then Northam Season ticket!!
  9. I would rather have MLT involved in a takeover and not know who is behind it rather than 2 that we do know that dont have any `real` commitment to the club other than an investment opportunity. MLT is one of a few who have kept in contact with Saints and does things to supprt the club. Even if it doesnt get us in Prem in 5 years its better to be with MTL, he surley wouldnt be stupid enough to ask Lowe back some others would. (lets hope Lowe go to skates to invest)
  10. That saves them from going bust and relegated then!
  11. Club should have stopped paying the players months ago and saved that for key staff to run the club then sold the players at the end of the season. Priorities all in the wrong place. few players are due to be sold so that should go towards the staff (not players) then if we go into non leaque at least we can operate as players can be found anywhere and all the big/mid wage players will have to go anyway. What a shambles
  12. Shame more fans couldnt attend even if just to see the bands as a music event, if you watched most of the bands it would be less than 50pence a band. I even spotted a Skate in one of the bands, I did shout somehting out to make him feel welcolme but fair play to the Skate for helping out Saints which is more than the players have done. many posts on the echo advised fans not to go as the money will go into a black hole or to administrator so that didnt help. But looks like many fans now dont want to be a part of the club with such big earner players and all the big share holders etc. That puts the block on anymore events to raise money.
  13. Just got back. watched the bands from 1pm to 5.30 then legged it to KFC, at some outside ground then back in for 6.10pm. All the bands were great and totally worth the £15 plus with last nights bands. Well done to all involved and the bands, a Saints Aid to remember!
  14. Went to Louisiana last night to see the metal bands. watched the first 4 bands before getting the last tain back to Eastleigh. Bands were great, mostly youngsters but you have to hand it to them , they were all in time and very professional.I think the sound engineers were from the Joiners. Not sure what to expect at first but the setup was excellant and very clear, the venue was just right (could there be another??) but shame there were not more who turned out!! The bands put a lot of effort into the performances which added to the event. So all in all very impressed and hope to see these bands again.
  15. Should be £2-3m. Sounds a bit steep for me, does he not know there is a recession on. Cant the buyer just pay £1 ?
  16. Eyes K8, my recommendation would be , never build a new stadium, just expand the one you have. Saints should never have moved and its now come to light that not much of the ground has been paid off as expected. Also you will never generate a `real traditional football`atmospher in a bowl due to the shape and spread, distance from pitch. I went to the Forest game and the ground is fantastic a good proper ground.
  17. I think the Prem will change as the FA have seen this as a problem and will split the Prem in two so the big 8 in one leaque and the others in another. Any team not able to attract huge TV audiance wont be in top part unless by promotion/scambling survival each season. The top 8 will then eventually play Euro teams and celtic Rangers. With probally a token few games with some other clubs.
  18. This is all symptamatic of the `capitalist Culture` we are all tied up in. The MP, RBS Directors drip feeding huge amounts into thier own pockets. I now belive there is not a credit crunch` its just certain high earners have just gambled and wasted so much money they want more. The same has happened with Saints, Saints were NOT short of money and never have been, they just gave too much of it way in wages. 30 players give up 1 weeks wages of £3,000 and the board help out with £10,000 and thats almost the initial money that was needed to keep the clubs lons going. In proportion to what the fans have spent on tickets etc and given that we have to work for our money its a scandle. Look at BORO yesturday the ground half empty for a crucial game but these footballers dont understand what its like to work in a real job, to have to work hard, to have to keep an eye on money. I have said it before, it maybe best for fans that the club goes bust and we start in non league then the game will go back into the hands of the fans and we wont see the likes of these `kiss the badge and go` players. Some of the players playing for Newcastle and BORO are so poor you wonder why the fans turn up and then you see the empty seats and realise the Prem is no better than CCC, its all full of crap players we have made millionairs. I am going to spend my money on better things or save it! None leaque here we come.....
  19. The whole thing about Southampton FC being in crisis is not all its made out to be. There are fans scambling to save the club, there are wages paid out to some who could help but the fund does not replicate a proportional amount. That being what fans find and what other could find. The relegation to Div 2 will see only real dedicated people who want to be with Saints and the low wages will hopefully get only those player/board memebers. It appears day by day just like the MPs allowances that some think its thier right to be greedy, well its a free market so FO to another club! In some ways I would rather see the club fold and start again in BBS, £8,000 a week to play football when some earn just that in a year!! get real your in the **** leaque now!
  20. I wonder how many teams will go ahead with new grounds in future. I certainly dont think most clubs need a new ground as its just a financial risk. 20% of all fans at clubs dont go to the games when relegated (or like some prem teams not doing well) and that just makes things worse. I say keep your ground and fill it!! I hate those bowl stadiums, Forest was great, good stands, not all closed in and good atmospher. I can see Brighton going the same way soon!
  21. Just got back, and yes the fans banter was good, but for us as many have said a 2 half game one good the other not. Good view from the seat and better than I rember the ground from the 70/80s
  22. swing Lowe bt 2100 saints fans during the 90, lets have it!
  23. Hayes and Yeading 0 Eastleigh 3 Come on!! brilliant considering H&Y form team uneaten in 15
  24. Been watching Eastleigh FC for last 2 seasons as well as Saints, this season to 8 games and Saints would struggle in the BSS. Its good entertaining football with a proper ground, I just hate SMS and the bowl shape plus too far away from pitch. It just shows how awful Saints scouting has been as we could have stayed up no problem if we got some plain basic Div 3-4 or non leaque players, also at Eastleigh the front players actually kick the ball in a straight line towards the net!! get down to the 2nd leg playoff vs Hayes and Yeading this Saturday!!! £10, first leg away tonight. You might be enlghtened as to how far Rupert and the board of idiots have ruined SFC. Oh yes there are lots of Saints fans each week!! and some have defected too, not just due to Lowe but the sheer greed of players and lack of commitment to any club over the years.
