  1. Am I right in thinking that we can only control the media rights on our home games? If so it will be interesting to see how many photos we get in the rags. Based on the thin coverage of League One I think the difference is likelt to be minimal. The Sun are very used to paying big money to 3rd parties for photographs, they do pay Papp's for photos I would assume. It seems that the clubs plan has backfired for now, but I wonder had it been one of the big four going first whether it might just have become the adopted model for football.
  2. Solent report a takeover for Pompey tomorrow - The good news (for this thread) is that it is Chanrai. Roll on post #50k
  3. Having backed him at 33-1 I would have taken a very small mgt stint from him.
  4. The vast majority of Pompey fans have shown respect and they are to be thanked for that. Every club has its fair degree of nobbers, though they would appear to have more than most. I actually put it down to jealousy. It is not that Markus lumped in pots of money, in fact that he would have invested similar amounts to that the Gaydamark and Chanrai 'claim' to have into the skates, but that he was a decent honest man who wanted nothing from the club but success achieved through good honest ethics, attacking flare and a sense of community. As well as saving us Markus brought unity, belief and pride back to our club. Maybe one day they'll be as lucky as us.
  5. So the OP question: What happens now? Well for me it is simple, we unite behind the manager, team and club management and walk this league.
  6. FFS - The moral compass of some posters here is unbelievable. My thoughts are with his family, the club can wait.
  7. Agree, 13 months ago we would have taken anything to save our club. Never understood people who pay to go to every game to simply moan. I go to work and get paid for that.
  8. I am no mechanic but I would try and jump it off another car. If it was the battery you may have got a bit of a warning that it was on the way out. If it starts, run it for 10 minutes and then try and start it. Chances are you have left the lights on or something and it has drained the battery. What you may find is by emptying the battery you have knackered it and will need to replace. Easiest way to tell is use a multi-meter across the two terminals to check alternator and battery. You are aiming for 14.4v on a good battery. You can also use the multimeter to check battery drain.
  9. With respect, if I had to return to Pompey I would try and stay in the West Midlands as long as possible too.
  10. We have nine more points than we did at this stage last season!
  11. I actually really enjoy GM's posts. He is a very articulate chap with a clear love for the club. Sometimes I wonder why the posts and thread starting to put a some of the less talented posters down.
  12. More like loose cannon this time.
  13. Forget the debt - it's gone, wiped out, Kaput. Even having basically having their debt written off they have: - A team they cannot afford in NPC - No stadium - No offices - No training facilities - An average sized fan base - A sponsor that is hedging their bets - No revenue coming in from shirt sales If I was being uber cynical I would add: - A Hong Kong businessman keeping the corpse on life support to simply rape it for parachute payments. - The very real prospect of massive points deductions due to tax evasion and agent misuse. As we have seen, the bastards won't die, but their pain will be hilarious to watch all season. Gents, this is not the end of the thread, this is Pompey Takeover Saga (Season Two). I for one will be watching it unfold.
  14. Following on from the shock of yesterday we are presented by a whole new set of circumstances. I am not sure it has ever been proved that BC or AG actually injected all the funds they claimed to have into PCFC that appear as loans on the balance sheet. Hypothetically, Just suppose a slightly shady character domiciled overseas owes some money to a business colleague, his assets are frozen so tells him to 'lend' £15m to his company and take a secured charge against its prime 'asset', the current 'owner' will then default on an agreement and that company then passes beneficially to the business colleague who is free to to withdrwa Premier League payments and cash sale amounts for player sales in January against his 'loan'. Then if the club gets placed into administration (with a helpful creditor being made to look the bad guy) said business colleague is guarenteed a pay out as a secured creditor due to parachute payments. Effectively business colleague gets paid, no risk to him. He can then sell a football club as a going concern. Hell he might even team up with an old buddy so they can package the stadium and land together and sell for a few million quid.... This would then mean the figures on paper are fairly meaningless, it is all about the flow of cash. All hypothetically of course.
  15. Mr Sheldon, for Pompey, claimed player was perfectly entitled to vote under the terms of reference for the Company Voluntary Agreement to make a claim for £1.3m which would be owed to him over the rest of his contract . It thus follows that the HMRC would be entitled to PAYE and NIC as well. Logically if the players contractual entitlement can be included, so can the tax liability!
  16. Excellent, 3 points tonight to make up for the ones we lost Saturday....
  17. No club shirts = No image rights payments? Doh!
  18. From the Independant Article: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/pompey-braced-for-showdown-with-taxman-2040763.html "And if they thought things couldn't get much worse, Pompey are in danger of losing their shirt sponsor, Jobsite, who allowed their name to be used yesterday since the fixture doubled up as a testimonial for Linvoy Primus but who have made no decision about the new season." I can't understand why this would be? The Skates are clearly now the sporting equivalent of a brand sponsoring the new Gary Glitter tour.
  19. The Linvoy Primus Community Stand LMFAO. 10 Years smelling of fish and you get a stand named after you! http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/An-Emotional-Day-1187.aspx They did manage to scrape 6,685 in today against Premiership opposition. The Bestest Fans in the World!
  20. Looking forward to Owen and Benjani signing on the pitch before Kick Off.
  21. Unless AA has to buy the land at a commercial rate to continue trading by diverting player sale money....... "We had no option M'Lord"
  22. Nothing to fear in the draw except Swindon who turned us over twice last year.
  23. Based on each post taking 20 seconds to read, it would take you just over 7 solid days to read the whole thread to this point.
  24. Thread of the Month! I am going for Raul, with the Dagger, in the Library.
  25. Clampitt looks like he has caught the Storrie bug, "they promised they would agree after the contract was sigfned". Guess none of the commercial legends at Pompey thought to insert it IN the contract? http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Portsmouth-Football-Club-Statement-1179.aspx
