Loans between Premier League clubs and other English counterparts are officially called temporary transfers. Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2024/25 (Download PDF, size: 18.2MB), there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs. They are: - Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time. - The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time. - Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window. - A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club

Reflecting this morning. There were a lot of positives to take from the game. After a nervous early start we really grea into the game and were looking the stronger side when it was 11 v 11. BBD made sure we were facing 10 for the rest of the game and in a way I am pleased we are 'playing the game', we were do soft last time around in the Prem. The McCarthy brain fart always looked a possibility. I get the tippy tappy at the back, but he was knocking it into a hostile position even if he found a player. Sugawara looked very promising first half, and was a strange decision to swap him at half time, I can only think it was injury or fitness related because he was one of the bright spots and the change of shape made us easier to defend against second half. Up front we are lacking creativity from the midfield and also any form of aerial threat. The young lads Dibbing and Amo-Ameyaw didn't look out of place and Aribo had one of best games in a Saints shirt. Ultimately we will need to be more clinical when we have our noses in front. Our xG of 1.62 vs theirs of 0.25 probably tells that story.

So if I understand this PSR correctly: We buy a player for £10m on a four year contract, we essentially lose £2.5m per year on him We sell that same player for £10m two years later we have essentially made a £5m profit (In PSR Terms)

Last time we went back to the Prem we were up against Man City Away and put in a very solid performance despite going down 3-2. We'll be pumped up first game back with a smattering of the unknown. That said I can't remember us getting anything at SJP since Koeman and the yellow kit.

I guess a lot depends on the role, and indeed wages that have been agreed. He's no fee, hopefully on much reduced wages and could add experience to both the club and maybe some limited game time.
