  1. Why am I not surprised? I’ve lost count of how many times this has happened in the past. We are very thin on the ground with experienced subs.(exclude Long as he never performs any more ! ) When will we ever learn?
  2. Bit frustrating to watch. Each nullifying the other. Wolves are well drilled but as we saw, vulnerable at times.Shame Theo only got the one but was worried when we started playing crab football again. McCarthy outstanding but let’s not forget that Che ran his nuts off and was ‘on the ball’ with his two assists. Content with a point. Only negative, and there’s always at least one. Why was Traore given such an easy ride by Mariner? His first tackle was worse than the second but he was only booked for the latter. Yet again,no consistency from the middleman. Ready for Manure now. 3. According to a local wolves fan Traore has a bit of a cob on and is holding back on his contract which doesn't impress their manager. Nor,I may add, the Wolves fans I know. This is a game we can win if we continue to press and keep them on the defensive. They have quite a few on international duty so they could be a little tired by Monday evening. It will be interesting to see what squad Ralph plays.Three more points will do me fine. COYS
  4. Well. I hope I'm not being too premature, but here we are at 1230 on Sunday still at the top. Should the Baggies beat the Spuds we will still be there in two hours time. I am still crowing about it. Been a Saint since January of '57 and this feeling of euphoria is wonderful. Long may it continue. So proud of my team and Manager.
  5. Its Newcastle. The Magpies. That big club up in the North East but no longer in the pecking order for all the accolades of the London centrist Press. They will put ten men behind the ball and try to hit us on the break. An early saints goal will expose their weaknesses. We are the Saints. Have faith and we can beat them in the same way we have beaten Everton, even after the Taters (especially that pillock Smith) kept reminding us of a game against the Foxes last season. They forget we thrashed them at their muck heap in the return fixture. Three more points on Friday and no whinging please. We have a good team of dedicated players now who see us as winners, not whingers. COYS
  6. Me too
  7. For the first 20 minutes there was only one person on the pitch. Some nipper called Calvert-Lewin and Alan Smith was creaming his hamps every time he touched the ball, which incidentally, was’nt very often. How many times was the heaviest defeat mentioned? We outplayed and out thought them and still Smith failed to give us any credit. The red card tackle deserved a 12 month ban. Moronic describes that tackle. Pleasantly surprised that our not so friendly, in the past , Kevin Friend wasn’t too bad. Like many others on here we were astounded that Redmond got MOTM when others deserved it but there you go. I am happy with a win and the bursting of the Toffees bubble. Most entertaining for us Saints.
  8. At 2-1 said to my Nipper 'Be happy with a draw here now.' Well we got one . Well done to all. So pleased for Che. hope this shuts up some of the doubters now!
  9. Don’ t underestimate the Baggies as it borders on the arrogant. They have some really good attackers and their aggression is legion. I would like to beat every other team in the Premier but know full well we never will but, we can try. Write WBA off at your peril.
  10. We still use the term Pompey Scum in our song “When I was Just a little boy I asked my Mother........” To me they will always be scum. Skates equates with Fish F.....s!
  11. Over the many years I have watched Saints, this sits in the bottom decile of entertainment. I think of the times when we have played brilliantly and lost. At Turf Moor we played awfully and won. Was disappointed with Djenepo as the proverbial ‘couldn’t trap a bag of cement’ springs to mind.Romeo my MOTM. Again there was inconsistency and Ralph knows what he has to do.Adams worked his socks off with the assist the only highlight of his game. I wish we would leave him or Danny in our bit of the centre circle when defending corners. We permit the opposition to pile all of their outfield men in our half. The three points are accepted and I’m really glad not to be a Shitehawks supporter this morning. Kevin Friend again. The break may give Ralph the chance to improve the fitness of a few players who appeared to be off their pace last night. At least the sun is shining up here in North Shropshire. COYS
  12. We have been totally overwhelmed by Burnley for the past three seasons. Struggling to make an impression. Last Season they took six undeserved points from us because we were absolute pants. Now is the time for revenge. Shaun Dyche will try to play hoofball and this time we must not fall for it. We ain't too bad when we play the ball on the deck so this has to be the way that we can not only avenge last seasons abysmal failures, but also to give them the hiding they deserve. I always want Saints to win and I am pretty sure that Ralph has seen the errors of his ways after Sundays total submission to a not very good Spurs side. Son was the danger from the outset. We know that Burnley have no speed merchants; so take the game to them and for a change, give them a pasting. Saints to win.COYS
  13. There are not many games that I wish I cold be at but always in the past i have watched us against the Spuds. I absolutely detest Levi and the owners but to be perfectly honest they do have some very good players. Most of them don't like the physical side of our game and will try everything in the book to gain an advantage. They were very lucky last night and we mustn't fall into the trap in believing they are invincible. Go out and beat them and give a little pride please.I don't have a prediction but hope we can a least get a draw. COYS
  14. Not surprised but we did make a new record,no wins in the last eight first games of the season. Have reservations about Ralph’s selection today. How did Redmond play the whole match when it is quite obvious he just didn’t perform. Che and Danny didn’t get any service and were chasing back to get the ball. I hate ‘crab football’ yet we still seem to play it often. Pitta Patta in midfield cost us yet again. It’s only the first game of the season and it’s what we deserved on the day. Spurs won’t be easy but I am always the eternal optimist before kick off. It’s just what follows that busts that hope.
  15. And now the FA have withdrawn from the Chinese TV agreement the money appears to be drying up. However, the 'big' clubs will also suffer financially which ain't no bad thing considering the obscene amounts a couple of them are paying their players.
  16. I’m going for a 6-0 win for Saints and Danny to get four and that’s because Sheffield United hate Vardy almost as much as we do. I won’t forget how he put an Dyke out of playing for months.i
  17. This times a hundred. Come on Danny, we are all behind you tomorrow.
  18. Well if we can stand outside and applaud the Carers we can stand up inside in front of the telly then! Just a thought.
  19. I hope it will be a competitive game and Danny gets his hat trick. Let’s give Billy Sharp a very warm Saints welcome back to St.Marys. He did a job for us when he was here and for that we should applaud him. Three more points on Sunday then it’s off to the Costa del Calshot for a well earned break!
  20. We will beat the Bucket Rattlers. It won’t matter by how many but ‘revenge is sweet’ after their OTT celebrations last October. I won’t even bid them farewell. Just piss off!
  21. Very poor indeed in the first half and was concerned we would suffer a rout with our less than mediocre defence. However, the changes at half time clearly demonstrates how thin our squad is. Vokins picked up in the second half and someone must have told him at half time to stop cutting in and go outside .. it worked. PEH can go. Everton or Spurs and if it’s Spurs let’s have KWP as part of the deal. That lad was a revelation when he came on. Obefimi just doesn’t seem suited at this level. Armstong also improved our situation. Without trying to sound arrogant but we could have won this. Should we beat Bompey on Sunday it will be icing on the cake. Ings outstanding again but I see Dunk is being MOM in some circles. Roll on Sunday and the opportunity to wave farewell to the bucket shakers (ungrateful bastards) COYS
  22. I thought Bednarek was outstanding last night. Calm and concentrated. My only reservation is the inconsistency of the Referee. Yes, Romeo was lucky to stay on the pitch but some of the Manc challenges leave a lot to be desired. They get a free kick from a clash of heads and the donkey gets a goal kick after blatantly pushing Danny over. Bravo Zulu Saints. A most entertaining evening for all Saints. Three more against the Shitehawks on Thursday ?
  23. Their weak link is the donkey McGuire. Very over rated and will not be able to cope with Ings Adams and Long. Can see quite a few bookings against Saints because pride comes before a fall and United just don’t like being humiliated. I’m going for a narrow Saints win.
  24. Anyone any doubts that Richardson should be in his National Swimming team.? After all he’s a superb diver. we were far the better team and I know JWP is the captain but to take that penalty away from Danny cost us two points.
  25. Keep the same team that played City and I believe we can at last get the 3 points at Goodson.
