Was talking to a Stokie STH a couple of days ago and he said Saints got our stripes from borrowing a Stoke kit many many years ago.Apparently when we were St.Marys we were playing a friendly against some team and didn't have a strip so Stoke loaned us theirs for the match and in appreciation of that gesture we adopted the stripes.This is the first time I've ever heard this so if one of our 'historians' can help shed some light on this I'd appreciate it.

I've just got back from my Dental appointment.My Dentist is Portugese and obsessed with football. Wearing a Saints top for my first visit last year means she only talks about Saints and Portugal.Her husband is a Villa supporter and they both went to Saint Mary's to witness the thrashing we gave them. She says Jose (pronounced Joe say) can't get into the national side because he's a little slow compared to a couple of their other defenders but both were impressed with his performance and with two friends (who are Doctors) from Southampton met him and talked football. He is staying with us! He likes Southampton,the people,the Fans and the Club.Spoke very highly of RK and Kat.

This is almost as impossible as predicting results.Who would have thought we would spend £12 million for Long? Charlie Austin? Have no idea.We can only wait and see.Les and Kat are quite shrewd when it comes to spending money. We'll not go down the Osvaldo road again that's for sure.
