  1. Don't blame the wind. It's the same for both teams and Saints don't cope as well as Burnley.
  2. Das ist sehr gut!
  3. Sometimes people serve out their contracts because they recognise they made a legally binding agreement. Others just see the contract as a means of achieving the maximum for their 'gainful employment' and do as little as possible in return. Forster, Austin et al are all willing to give their services but circumstances change and they aren't in a position to demand unless they choose to leave of their own volition. As fans we often criticise without seeing the other side of the situation. Greed continues to be the norm in today's football with obscene payments given to mediocre players yet many fans envy the players lifestyle. You can't have it both ways.
  4. I don't think I've missed a single one of your incredibly analytical pieces Glen. As an ex STH ( the grandsons both play Academy Football on Saturdays now) we are only able to attend away matches up here and the odd one at St Marys when we are back in town. Your frank summaries of our matches are outstanding and all of us look out for them as soon as you publish. Thank you from all of us Haspers for all the laughs and humour you have given us. Long may it continue. We look forward to the forthcoming (upcoming? ********!) season. Have a good break and we'll meet again in August.
  5. Welcome Che. Now you have the opportunity to show us what we've been missing. My Blues supporting mate reckons he's LeTiss with pace.
  6. Win against Burnley.Win against the Bin Dippers (as their Friend cant influence our legitimate claims now we have VAR) and it's onwards and upwards from that point on.I'm very optimistic for the season ahead.
  7. I'll be happy to see a 'plus' goal difference for a change and hope we finish around eighth.
  8. Three wishes today 1 We beat Huddersfield 2. Arsenal beat Burnley And 3. Wolves annihilate the bin dippers. And the sun keeps shining.
  9. So you sign a contract for £60k pw and it is agreed. Another Club approaches the player and offers £90k pw with total disregard to the contractual obligations of the player as they 'can afford any punishment'. As long as that other Club approaches his current Club and negotiates within the confines of the players contract that's acceptable. What is not acceptable is for a Club to tap up the player personally and ignore the protocol of real negotiation guidelines and then said player is not 'in the right frame of mind to play' then his employer has two options. Accept the underhandedness of the tap up club or, make the player play with the under 23s until he sees sense. The employing club is not in breach of the contract. For those who believe VVD acted for anything other than the increased wages is a little delusional.
  10. Yet again a substandard team makes a mediocre team look good. As soon as I saw the team sheet I thought "Oh!s.h.i.t" FF and JS plus Ellenousie. Who wants a few pieces of surplus to requirement 'pretenders' for free.Ralph knows who to dump now if he didn't before this Charade.
  11. They will.And we will.
  12. We didn't lose! Why then am I so disappointed? Because yet again we threw away a lead, struggled to get it back and went behind, came back to draw and then went ahead but, like so many times this season threw away two points with useless defending.Ralph now knows where to off load the dead wood and although we are safe now in total,I am still not happy with how we got here.I will continue to support Saints anyway. Rant over.
  13. Our problem, like so many times in the past is we have settled for a draw. That's ten now. More than any other in the Prem. Once we change our approach we should just go for it. Too many times this season we have scored first and then just sat back and either drawn or lost. Ralph needs to sort this out. Another draw on Saturday is unacceptable. We are not quite clear yet.
  14. We'll need both muscle and tenacity for this one. They really are a very physical side. However, they can be beaten and I sincerely hope Mike Dean doesn't play as their twelf man. So many times we have been let down by bad/favourite decisions. I'll accept a draw but a win would make me happy.
  15. I never like losing. Even to much better teams but Newcastle are not a good side. We were so ordinary we made them look awesome. We are not going down. Our second half showed we do have the capability and on another day the Magpies would be the ones who didn't get the luck. Move on.
  16. Where's Shearer live? Chandlers Ford? And Lawrie Mc?
  17. Sometimes logic defies all reason!
  18. After reading that diatribe I believe some of them are completely deluded. Loads of Wolves fans(?) here in North Shropshire and the ones I know believe we are going to win. So do I!
  19. Thanks Fez. I just hope he does us a few favours for a change.
  20. When we played them at Molineux we gave them too much respect and were guilty of giving veg them two soft goals. Ralph has hardened our lads up since that (Hughes fiasco) and we need to go at them from the start. This certainly is,as you say doable but we need to stay focussed for the whole 90 + minutes. PS. Whose the Ref?
  21. I agree with your perception Dave and I would also like to see a speed merchant standing in our half of the centre circle for the oppos corners against us too as it would tie up two of their players.
  22. You forgot that famous Pundit who is so up his own back end he has brown teeth.Lawro!
  23. This is no easy walkover game for us and we will be looking over our shoulders at Cardiff.Burnley are still in the mix as are Newcastle but we have to win at least two of the next three games to ensure security. Its not an easy run for us whatever the opposition.Keep focused and we can do it.
  24. Watched on Sky with my Nipper and grandsons and Caraghers voice is so effing annoying my ears began to vomit. We turned the sound off and watched knowing that decisions would go against us and they did. Putting Redmond up front in my opinion was erroneous. He was skinning their defenders in cohorts with Bertie and when he took Long off Redmond should have stayed out on the wings. We lost to the better team on the night but no shame. Let's now prepare for our next encounter and play just a little better than we did in the second half. I still hate the bastards!
