So glad the boys are bouncing back and responding well to the midweek humping at Leicester. Nice bit of momentum to take us into the play offs! Absolute dog shite.
-
This has become a nothing game now after the capitulations against Cardiff and Leicester. I can’t really give a toss as the players seemingly don’t either. We’ve lost any momentum and I really don’t see us even making the play off final let alone winning it. Mid table Championship mediocrity beckons for some time now I fear…..unless RM changes tact (doubtful) or we get a manager in to inject some excitement and flair into our squad.
-
A bit of aggression and passion wouldn’t go amiss Saints. FFS do we want to have a go at promotion or not?
-
I remember it well but the gulf now is too big and every year teams will yo-yo between the Championship and the Prem. Sad but true.
-
Really can’t excited about tonight’s game after yet another capitulation against Cardiff has sealed our place in the play offs. Even if we do by some miracle win tonight we’ll only be doing Leeds and Ipswich a favour. And I really don’t fancy us to beat anyone in the play offs over the two legs given our weak mentality that seems to have remain unchanged for as long as I can remember now. If only we had the ‘never know when you’re beaten’ mentality of Ipswich we’d have won the league a month ago. And in any event, a quick glance at the bottom 3 of the Prem tells you that actually going up won’t be much fun anyway. Gone are the days of a team like Brighton, Brentford and Villa etc going up and doing well.

So many games lost or drawn when we’ve been in front. No chance of the autos now and really don’t fancy us in the play offs. Just not strong enough mentally.
-
Why is that we have a manager that is an ex defender yet we cannot defend for toffee? Ipswich defenders were putting their bodies on the line all game yet ours were stood around picking their noses for their winner! That’s why we’re not going up either automatically or via the play offs because we cannot see games out.
-
Glad to see we’ve responded well to Leeds result last night and our poor results against Bristol Shitty and Hull…..oh wait a minute! FFS!
-
Well that was very enjoyable viewing compared to the last couple of seasons. The way we bossed the game was so great to see for a change. Set pieces will be our weakness this season as was shown tonight. Need to tighten up on that. Get a decent striker to lead the line and on that showing it should be a very good season.
-
I remember watching us lose at home to Manure when we last got relegated and thinking we’ll be straight back with the likes of Theo playing for us….he promptly left for Arsenal quite soon into that season. Lovely bloke though and always put his all in.
-
Well I’m looking forward to Norwich ad Ipswich away now I live 35mins from both.
-
I see Koscielny is a doubt for Arsenal's CL game on Tuesday because of a facial injury received against Saints. Oh will that be the same head injury the game should have been stopped for on Saturday or rather had the foul been given on Long then the head injury would never have occurred anyway or the dubious penalty.........

Can't help but feel extremely bitter towards RK and wish him nothing but bad luck. Yes he's been good for us but he inherited what Adkins and Poch had started and looked to be going right off the boil over the christmas period.... Loyalty is a long forgotten word in football and RK has been found out as a huge hypocrite in recent months. Let's hope for someone that can continue the good work over the last four years and wants to remain for the long term.
-
Can't wait to play them now. Please God let us do the double over them and wipe the smile of that smug Dutch cocks face......

I've voted for '****' Emery because as that's who I'd most like to see at SFC and the fact he doesn't speak English never stopped MP from doing a good job. However I doubt he'd come based upon the teams he's being linked with and also fear he'd use us just like MP and RK as a stepping stone. Realistically I'd be very happy FDB but equally could see that Moyes, whilst uninspiring, will bring steady regular mid-table/top ten finishes and won't be using us yet another rung on the ladder to personal success. Time will tell but very unimpressed with RK taking a step backwards and chasing the $. I sincerely hope it ruins his career and Everton spend millions only to achieve nothing.....not that I'm bitter at all! Just sick to the back teeth of our club being raided every bloody season........

Very enjoyable evening, though as mentioned by some, a rather subdued atmosphere despite the score line. Lovely to see JRod looking much improved, Mane was pure class as was VVD (reminds me of a young Rio Ferdinand). Have to say I was underwhelmed by Soares and Juanmi (bearing in mind the opposition) but great to see Gaston given a chance and he looked very classy (though how he'd do against Prem opposition remains to be seen). Onwards and upwards.

Very very dissapointing. Not just tonight but so far this season. I love the way how on BT Sport that Scouse ***** McManaman says Saints are a shadow of last seasons team. No **** Sherlock! We've got 7 of last years starting 11 either injured or poached by the big time Charlie's. Dickhead! On the flip side at least we're out of Europe and can concentrate on staying up. -

Didn't see that coming but mightily happy. Well done RK and the stand-in players. How many bedwetters will be calling for RK's head tonight? Muppets.....
-
Better than Ohymgod and hopefully more like Super Kevin Phillips.
-
This exactly. Get behind him and trust in RK. We're a mid table side not a European heavyweight. Long will be a good addition and realistically about the level we can attract - as Hernandez snub to us uas shown.
-
I don't have my head in the sand and I am most certainly not a bedwetter. I think everyone needs to calm down and keep their heads. With the exception of Chambers ALL the other players leaving were fully expected and if you thought different you were deluded. There are just short of three weeks until K.O. Let's start panicking then if we haven't made five or more decent signings. RK is no mug and I'm sure we'll see HIS style of players coming through the doors very soon. Keep the faith.
-
Completely agree. We have a great manager and coaching staff in place and they WILL re-build a team in THEIR mould. I would like to see these signings sooner rather than later but not panicking or bedwetting like many on this forum at the moment. Jeez. Get a grip.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us beat Liverpool after losing to ****e and bogey teams like Sunderland and West Ham. Would like to see Clyne, Lovren, Vic and Gaston back in the side and maybe drop Lambert for Gallagher up front. At least he looks more lively than Ricky.
-
Is anybody surprised at the result? We never beat the likes of West ham but watch us go and beat Liverpool next week! Season's over now.........
