  1. Do we still love the cherries? Any regrets about putting money in the buckets to save them when they couldn't pay their bills? I'm torn these days. Pretty beastly to call me a scummer after all the love shown. I guess they've all dropped their second clubs these days?
  2. Not a massive scoreline admittedly, but the 3 nil up at halftime against Tranmere, lose 4-3 was fcking repulsive. That took a few days to get over if i remember. Immune to the beatings now. And the sadest thing is no-one else really mentions it either - media, or mates etc. Just expected!
  3. Couldn't even score after Spurs completely gave up. Commentator made me laugh when they described our style as the 'passive press'. What the fck is that exactly?! Stand off and get a hiding?
  4. It would be just our luck that they'll sack him, and then we'll lose to whoever he's managing in next season's playoff final. That level of skepticism represents a new low - even for me.
  5. “I don't know what more I can give the players to make them really believe”. Leave?
  6. I actually think he escapes abuse in the ground because of Russball in a way. Just as the style of it sucks the atmosphere out of the stadium, it seems to put the individual into a trance like state of apathy, almost docile - like you have simply given up. I think the most 'prepared' I could be to receive life changing negative news is either in St Mary's or as I walk to the car. Up until a few weeks ago it would turn to anger when listening to 5 live on the way home. But even that has faded now.
  7. Brentford slot in a 4th...But we have unrealistic expectations, and should invest in the process of getting dicked every week.
  8. There could be something in that for everyone. It may eventually have the desired result of getting him out of here, and he can then run with the narrative of being ahead of his time, they don't understand me and the project, tortured genuis etc etc.
  9. This whole 'build' / 'project' thing is really odd - but fits the arrogance of the individual concerned I guess. Being utterly incompetent at something, but referring to it in terms of a project that's perhaps beyond the intellectual capability of us mere mortals to grasp. Passing it out from the back, repeatedly making mistakes, and losing football matches isn't a project.
  10. Looking at the other shite down at the bottom, I don't think we were nailed on to go down from the outset - certainly odds against at the bookies. It's become a certainty because of him. He talks about bravery, and the brave thing to have done would have been to thank him for his efforts and part company after the Leeds game. What's happening now has gone from being infuriating, to laughable, to just bizarre.
  11. What's up with that bell end brighton manager? Get your head out your arse, it wasn't too long ago you were playing in a car park.
  12. 'We're doing it our own way'. There's nothing really unique about getting spanked every week. So I guess he must mean the knocking around the back until we make a mistake bit. Some 'project' that, cheers pal.
  13. I suppose there may be a few legitimate scenarios where a team is best price 1/7 to go down in November and it not be fair to reach the conclusion that 'the manager's shit'. Putting aside the repugnant style of football and the occasional disagreeable personality traits in this instance of course - as that may not be fair in forming an objective view here. Hmmm, tricky one. Could take some time to put together a compelling argument.
  14. There was a moment around the 10 minute mark when the players went rogue and abandoned russball, Paul O was running the show and moving the ball forward with pace. The folks around me couldn't quite believe what they were seeing...and we actually stood up applauded what was once considered 'normal' football. It was like the scene in The Shawshank Redemption when they were fixing the roof and felt like 'free men'. But alas, it was just as fleeting.
  15. Yeah, really weird... It's November and we're 1/5 to get relegated. The football is awful to watch. The bloke is a deluded, arrogant, insufferable hipster who simultaneously manages to sound like the footballing equivalent of a Tory politician from the 80s, 'if it's not hurting, it's not working'...as we're told suicide inducing performances are actually good for us. We're now miles behind dross from league 1 and championship days like Brentford, Boscombe, Brighton etc.
  16. The two managers would lovingly embrace at full time after the inevitable 0-0 and pour glutinous sickening praise on one another, making reference to how much they had 'learnt' (like avoiding every possible opportunity to attack), whilst not noticing that the biggest mass suicide in world history had taken place in the crowd.
  17. Not sure Phd level analysis is required here. The football is shite, and the bloke's a knob. Could be down already. Maybe give Nivea the gig, and go down actually trying to score a goal.
  18. Tempting to say that the players have given up and aren't playing for him on the basis of the 2nd half, but then they could just be following his instructions perfectly - hard to tell the difference.
  19. Mods - can this be taken down please? It's clearly offensive to the regime and our glorious leader. The poster needs to be put in the gulag for footballing re-education. The sight of players running with the ball in a vaguely attacking manner, repeatedly getting in behind, putting balls into the box, and worst of all actually shooting is absolutely sickening propaganda in its worst form and should not be tolerated.
  20. Win 4-3 and still sack him...it's the hope that kills you!
  21. I'm getting old and time seems to race by...but the level of decline since poch & koeman seems crazy. We didn't seem genuinely in control at any stage really - at home to Ipswich...I guess we'll only find out how much of that might be due to Martin if/when they sack him.
  22. We're off! Boscombe nicked it
  23. Dibbling needs to watch himself. I thought the same when he came on against Forest and starting actually running at defenders that he was taking a huge career risk. He may 'disappear' now for footballing re-education.
  24. Quite a coup. Should have announced it at the Potters Heron for old times sake.
  25. Russball, of which I am obviously fully indoctrinated to, does seem to suck the atmosphere out of a ground. That's one thing it certainly is successful at.
