No, not personally. It was all really funny apparently, and the same people raging against us thought that even a touchline ban was going too far.

Not a bad little insurance policy if they lost on the pitch was it?! Agreed, they played the outrage bit exceptionally well though.
-
In the absence of any new evidence, it seems the only thing we'll be arguing is proportionality. But the new panel will be in the exact same position as the last one on that - just making it up. That's probably our only hope really, some maverick crackpots up for some drama.
-
We exposed ourselves to the stupidity and hysteria of the modern age, and have paid the price. This became a de facto court of morals via a relentless media onslaught, which in conjunction with a rule that permitted complete discretion regarding sanctions, put us in a really dangerous spot.
-
It's hard to muster up any kind of defence for a club that deems it necessary to spy on Oxford, but I guess we'll always be left to wonder whether if the orchestrated media shit show of the last few days hadn't happened, would the panel still have reached this decision? I have my doubts, but its probably naive to have any faith in due process these days.

We spied on Oxford?! And lost... I went to my first game with my dad in 35yrs ago, and there have been tough times along the way. But I'm struggling to see where we go from here.
-
Feel the same. Badly drafted rule that seemingly provides for complete discretion in respect of sanctions - and so in turn has stitched up the people left to decide. Assume the rule will be torn up after this, as amongst other issues there is clearly no direction on how to proceed in terms of a league or knock-out scenario - or indeed whether no such distinction should be made at all (given the rule makes no reference).

Theres a tenner waiting at 9.8. Cant see 8/11.

It's a fair wedge for some. Take pompey for example, they cant even afford 750k for undersoil heating. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/portsmouth-fc-fratton-park-undersoil-heating-8545775

Wasn't paying much attention to the Prem. Quite sobering to be sat here worrying about the outcome of spying on shite like Boro, as the Cherries are chasing the Champions League (with Brighton just behind)! Doesn't seem that long ago since Brighton were throwing their toys out the pram about us not giving them a guard of honour in front of 5k at the Withdean! Elements of this situation are clearly ridiculous, but we really need to get back to where we belong asap and leave this kind of shit behind.

BBC News - Josef Mengele: Switzerland finally to open secret files on Nazis' Auschwitz 'Angel of Death' - BBC News https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgjpyqjj8y4o Might take some of the heat off Salty for a few hours at least.

'You cant tone down the severity of what Southampton have done...' Well presumably you could tone it down the point of irrelevance if the very same behavior had taken place earlier in time? That's the strange bit for me, the moral preaching element here. How can these dummies has such a visceral reaction to a practice that can occur within a timeframe?! If it transpires that Saltys train was just a bit late and it knocked him under the 72hrs, then maybe a donation to a local childrens hospital (thinking £500 should do it), and we all move on.

Henry W at the Torygraph pumping it out. Touchline ban was too strong for Biesla last time though eh? What a waste of money on those school fees.
-
I can just see a projection of the crest on the side of a factory (closed down, obviously) lighting up the night sky. Boro fans standing around tea candles, John Lennon's 'Imagine' playing...framed pictures of that numpty manager with tears in his eyes.
-
That golf course is a par 72 as well...there has to be some good pun opportunities missed in those current reviews. Will give it some thought.
-
Please, just one person in the media point this out! 72hrs - permitted 71.59 - moral outrage, national shame, expelled, 20m to the other team to silence them, whole country behind Hull...
-
I cant imagine any rational person would even consider the possibility of expulsion as being remotely proportonate if the internet didnt exist. It's a ridiculous world - madness of crowds etc. I know the rule came in after the 200k Leeds fine, but to go from that (and all the journalists that found it funny at the time), to being potentially expelled from a competition is a level of absurdity totally fitting of the age in which we live. This seems like a real test of due process, and a related assessment of materiality.
-
All set for another day of faux outrage and vomit inducing moralism from whoever has been lined up. This is fast becoming the footballing equivalent of the reaction to the death of princess Diana. The lows keep getting lower.
-
Ah! Sorry! Cant keep up with the level of insanity.
-
The line of fuckwits willing to come out and talk about expulsion is a little surprising - in that it cant only be explained by their own intellectual limitations surely? Jordan went from pissing himself laughing about it to thinking we should be in The Hague. They must be getting briefed from Gibson to whip it all up.
-
Agree...but I feel like I must be missing something here perhaps? When the story broke, wasn't it stated that the recording was deleted? I think most people agree that the behavior itself is wrong and constitutes a rule breach, but in respect of the materiality of that breach from a footballing perspective it had no impact by definition - on account of being erased? So an attempt to gain an advantage was made, but it was thwarted. I get why dummies in the media and boro mongs are ramping it up, but ultimately this had zero impact from a potential advantage perspective.
