Europa League 2016/2017 (Died 8/12/2016)
holepuncture replied to ScepticalStan's topic in The Saints
I wouldn't worry about it, life in stoke can do that to people, he's just a silly old duffer who plays the forum hard man persona. I've really enjoyed your baffling posts following the early stages of the Europa, it's a true piece of nutjobbery. I now have a vague understanding of the coefficient standings, the pots, the draw, and who all these random clubs are. Then Pamplemousse tops it off by plotting the stadiums on Google maps, bravo. Good shout, I have experienced price hikes in the past, I've now wised up to this very sharp practice. -
Are there any betting markets open on the potential Fonte transfer? I couldn't see any online.
-
Are they protesting here as well? All 12K of the mightyest walking out before the players even enter the field? I must admit, I struggled for a split second distinguishing between the EFL Cup and EFL Trophy, so the few may well have assumed this is the JPT proper, and shuffled up to Cov. Despite the largest walkout in football history, the plucky league two strugglers are fighting for a lucrative replay against SISU (was it 6K we took last time at the Ricoh?)

Things have brightened up since the start of the new season. It was great watching Jeff Stelling back in the hot seat on Saturday, seeing the skates 1-0 down in their first home game of the season. When the red card came in at 28 minutes, I could only assume the top tip for walking the league (MKIV) would be able to overcome the mighty deficit with ease. LOL Now its not just the ref being over awed, it's also their own players? According to the press template, they have all dropped out of higher leagues to play for the bestest, citing the giantestest fanbase as their motivation for joining. In general, stadiums and supporter bases are much larger higher up the pyramid, so I'm not sure about that latest portsmyth. I can't wait for a (hungover) Cook berating a local journalist for asking honest questions, along with his gravelly, scouse voiced ranting in general. I look forward to Champagne Iain getting animated in the stands again, whilst making ongoing grandstanding gestures. The mighty walkout of the JPT, which they have slagged off since 2010. All of a sudden, they want to take the competition seriously, how strange? We all know what they object to, and whilst being destroyed by Reading FCs youth team will be humiliating, it isn't them is it?! Great to read the Tesco money is promptly fizzling into nothing, though Catlin has stated they may have boosted the gate by 2-300 seats as a result of their landlocked future funded emergency safety certificate measures.

Spot on. 28/30 days, I forget which, either way they didn't comply, as we say on the pompey saga "the figures don't stack up". (which isn't surprising with the well publicised business practises at SD)
-
Amusing indeed, remarkable in fact. They were visibly discounting our new kit, when it had been on the market for less than four weeks, in breach of price establishment/consumer trading law. I did notify the club in greater detail though they didn't reply, so either it is UA allowing SD to dump out their stock and SFC can't stop it, or they don't really care. I'm surprised UA and Saints let it happen this early on in the new kit deal. (Or perhaps the bra issue is as bad as perceived on here)

Still getting the odd redirect to spam sites on ios. I've given up on SWF via chrome as it just crashes the browser. Microsoft explorer or whatever it's now called seems to be alright.
-
I have just been redirected to a porn site... at work! Not good. That now makes this site NSFW, now I will have to do some work. Due to the spam, crashing etc I have been looking at comrade Paps site Sotonians, he seems to have quite a few from here who have migrated across.

Still getting it on the iPhone, as of this morning... My top two hits as per my screen print above. Shockwave crashing regularly, taking down bbc radio 2 at the same time.

To be an islamist, being psychotic, sociopathic, history of unprovoked violence etc are just standard traits. Anyway, he pledged his allegiance to islamic state, to the police. His ex wife is now suggesting that he is in fact a gentleman gay islamic extremist. These people live among us, stay vigilant people and take care. -
(pompey trust?) Seriously though, it's sad to read of peoples loss. Wherever your donation goes it will be to a good home. Nice one.

From crossing the Aegean to crossing the English Channel
holepuncture replied to holepuncture's topic in The Lounge
Looks like this is already a prominent issue: http://news.sky.com/story/1704972/people-smugglers-find-new-route-into-britain What on earth is going on over there, that all these people are taking such huge risks to escape the persecution of the French? Euro 2016 kicks off next week, and yet people are fleeing the country, surely this cannot be right? -

you joke, but it's clearly happening: http://news.sky.com/story/1703817/fears-over-migrants-crossing-channel-by-boat http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36410828 -
Today should have been a big day for #factless, reporting on 250,000 plucky bestest marching down Wembley way. But as we know the skates failed to get out of league 2, again, so #factless has little else to trumpet other than a bloke crying over an email.

Glad it's not just me then. It coincides (for me), with the adverts appearing between the forum sub-groups, 'Southampton Football Club', 'Off Topic' etc. All I can see around the page now is Travelodge adverts. This site has a tremendous amount of users, and for all the google advertising, why do users have to be spammed as well? Is the only remedy paying up for this so called curry club? Is this the cost of being a top ten side? Disappointing anyway.
-
On two different PCs, the shockwave plug in repeatedly crashes On the iPhone, I keep getting redirected to some Marvel comic advert or an ad 'you've won' competition spam site. Anyone else experiencing these issues? Or is this a cynical ploy to make me pay to look at the site? (which I object to on principle)

Well, what a fantastic time to be alive. Yesterday was glorious, perfect weather, perfect result and another record finish for the Saints. The skates losing in the playoffs was the ultimate outcome, we on here dreamt of it, the perfect nightmare scenario for the fish fiddlers. Yesterday our dreams came true. I actually didn’t watch either of their games against Plymouth, and for me, that makes it a little sweeter. But, to really top it off, I actually placed a small bet on Plymouth in the first leg, which failed. Though fear not, I kept the faith, managing to place a fairly weighty drunken bet at 7/4 in between losing signal on the train out of Southampton. I didn’t even realise the result until about ten o’clock last night when down at the pub. A mighty sha-la-la was belted out into the night, with all my heart and soul. Thank you for remaining the laughing stock of the south coast. Thank you Plymouth, and well done. Thank you Nutjobs, another cracking season ahead. Thank you corporate ho, I dedicate this post to you, PMSL. Thank you pompey for my money. SHA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA, SHA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA, SHA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA. WHO THE F*CK IS LAUGHING NOW?

Double positive discrimination? I can't imagine a corporation lasting long by only keeping the deadwood. Lol, total nonsense, the work of a yoghurt knitter from cafe liberal. It's all about stock, background, heritage, education, social circle. In a global capitalist country, besieged by multiculturalism & enrichment, you will always have groups that perform better than other groups. Have a look at the IQ average table, the average from the UK is massively higher than Ghana for example: https://iq-research.info/en/page/average-iq-by-country We live in a meritocracy, we shouldn't be 'enforcing equality', as that's essentially lowering standards and ultimately a race to the bottom
-
This type of positive discrimination is widespread amongst big corpos, as they get shafted by the government if they don't tick the boxes and fulfil quotas (of all backgrounds). Big business can carry the dead-weight so it's no bother to them to hire poor quality staff (of any background), it's the smaller firms that are big enough to fall onto the goverment radar, but not big enough to carry poor staff. Absolutely, but as ScepticalStan mentioned above, if you do that, you only end up employing the person most skilled, qualified and suitable to do the job, which happens to be the indigenous population. PMSL, poor example IMO, the people of Molenbeek have no intention of working, contributing and integrating with society, I'd say the total opposite.

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES

My concern with the new London Mayor with links to islamic extremism, is that islamic extremists may feel more empowered as a result of his position and suspicious past. Though Goldsmith didn't do himself any favours, his campaign was more for the home counties, the true British etc, he forgot just how diverse and ultimately foreign London is these days. London didn't want him. In other news, the police are apologising for their trial terror attack in Manchester, where the mock terrorist shouted allahu akbar, at the same time and in real life, a crazed man in Munich killed a man and stabbed three others whilst screaming allahu akbar. All this while three afgans have been arrested in Italy suspected of organising attacks on London, Paris, Rome and Bari. The three had been given humanitarian protection by the Italians, two other suspects remain at large. Rainbows, multicultural, enrichment, diversity, the religion of peace. It is a beautiful thing.
