loved this comment from the comments section - 7 Frank Scanlon 17mins ago "Realistically why would he choose Ireland unless hes not good enough for England or Nigeria. He was born here to Nigerian parents but moved away at a young age so in all reality probably doesnt have much affinity to Ireland. Being born in a stable doesnt make you a horse. However if your parents are horses then you’re a horse, and if you grow up in a stable then either you are a horse or at least more likely to feel like a horse"

love it, my other half won't be happy, she's a swans fan but away on business, love you babe xxx

I don't think Huddersfield will another game, I think Swansea will win one of their remaining fixtures, meaning if we can do the same we stay up on gd and Hudders go down. Also means Swansea will stay up which will make my life easier, as my other half is a Jack!

my other half is welsh, ospreys and swansea fan, been to loads of rugby matches, can have a beer etc, rugby fans can behave themselves and have lots of respect for other fans, football can learn a lot from rugby

There's even a load of Welsh speaking Argentines, I think in Patagonia. Not that this is in anyway relevant to anything at all.

we don't have the strength in depth but feel the way we approached EL has been a bit of an insult esp to the fans that travelled way. desperately need a striker or find a way to score. VVD is a class above. -

BREAKING: Premier League clubs announce £30 cap on away tickets
xerox replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Hopefully we'll start to take our full allocation for London, and other games, now....... -
Try St Thomas area and then walk up the road 'A4217' which follows the river - about 20min - handy for avoiding the city centre as well

I suppose we'll have to agree to disagree but interesting to hear your views. Cheers, Xerox

Fair comment CB, but we will end up as little old Southampton again. The move to sms gave us a big boost in profile, which can also help attract players, another reason to expand. Who's going to want to play for the club with the smallest ground who are never going to achieve anything? This does not fit with the clubs stated ambition to compete with the best and continue to play in Europe. We will get left behind. Is failing to plan planning to fail? The club have stated no plans to expand for the foreseeable but I bet they are aware of the need to do it in the future. I know we are not in the future but now, financially at least, would be a good time to do it, although I admit it is a little bit chicken and egg.
-
Have to agree - although there are some that won't. Why are so many clubs expanding if the revenue is so small? Also thinking ahead there may never be a better chance of expanding, cheap money/steel etc club better off than ever, more status, lots of reasons really.

Totally agree, well said.

Thank you for your enquiry, our apologies for the delay in responding to you. I have requested a response from our Ticket Office regarding the allocation for the Chelsea Away fixture, and have been advised of the following: Selecting the appropriate allocation for away tickets is a decision that is not taken lightly for any game, and one into which a lot of thought and consideration are placed. We only have 2 options available to us for games at Stamford Bridge, which are allocations of 1,500 and 3,000 tickets. Given the cost of the tickets, taking the larger allocation adds an amount of financial risk onto the Club, given that we have to commit to sell the majority of the allocation received, or be left liable for the cost of the unsold tickets. At £47 and £50 each, that cost for Chelsea is quite considerable. Previous allocations for games in London which are televised live have not Sold Out, and given the average attendance for Southampton at London games since our promotion back to the Premier League, and the cost of the tickets, at this stage we did not consider the larger allocation to be the correct one to take. We assess each game individually, so taking a smaller allocation this year is not necessarily an indicator that we will opt for a similar approach next season. I hope this answers your query. If you have any further questions, you are welcome to contact us again at any time.

Still no reply. 1436 tickets out of 3000? Chelsea must think our away support is crap, or Saints FC do? One of the best away days but most will never get the chance to go and it's only up the road ffs!
-
I've asked, will post reply when I get it.

No idea why they do this, winds me up, maybe ask the club?
