  1. I understand he's been signed to improve the skin condition of the under-18s. Moisture kid! Can't see him being much of an asset in thr first team, apart from an occasional cameo.
  2. Although of course any fee from the buying club will reflect what the selling one has had to pay up. Players (and agents even more so) are draining huge sums of money out of the game --- effectively the money we fans pay!
  3. Might not be allowing *new* STs there, though I hadn't heard that personally, but they are allowing renewals. Some block 29 neighbours of ours chose not to move because they don't walk well and couldn't find any seats together in 32 or 33 that weren't too high up the steps, so have renewed in 29.
  4. Exactly. In effect we couldn't afford not to sell JWP, as we also couldn't afford not to offload the wages of many of the loaned out players such as ABK. Similar to when Surman left for example---- but not similar to when lallana left!
  5. It was always bound to be difficult and disruptive. That's why I was against this move. But it's happened so we just have to live with it. For those of you that want to sit next to the away fans, block 29 presumably looks pretty sold out at present because there were a lot of ST holders there, but I know many were trying to move into the relatively few vacant seats in block 32 or 33. So it's likely there will be quite a few empty seats in 29 after 1st July.
  6. Am I misremembering how Lallana left then? I thought (a) he was our captain and (b) had recently signed a new bigger contract, saying stuff like he could stay here all his career, then made a big fuss and insisted on going as soon as Liverpool looked interested. Worse than Ings. It felt like a betrayal at the time, especially from a player we'd seen develop from a youngster over the years. Ings, on the other hand we'd let go as a young player and hadn't been back with is for all that long. Having said that, Ings as he is now as opposed to how he was, not a good signing.
  7. Hope the journey home wasn't too bad for most? Consternation on our jubilee line tube when the driver announced one stop before that we wouldn't be stopping at Waterloo because of congested platforms !
  8. A3 at Tolworth now fully reopened, so no delay for anyone driving in this way.
  9. If anyone is planning to drive into London on thr A3 to catch train/tube to Wembley, beware ....major hold ups at the Tolworth junction. Hour + delays yesterday evening.
  10. Just looked at the stadium regs. Bags no bigger than an A4 piece of paper 297 x210 x210 mm. Blimey! Where will I carry my picnic basket and blanket? 😱
  11. Lived in Yorkshire for a few years. Watched Hull, Doncaster, Sheffield, York. Leeds fans were the most unpleasant in the area. Entitled...."we're a really big club", gobby, etc. In effect the Portsmouth of the North!
  12. Yes it's popular with those who want to go into the Northam. It's those of us who are being forced to move from where we've sat for many years in the Kingsland, or who will be messed about by the away fans' new route to the ground etc, who are unhappy. But it's a done deal now, so people like me just have to decide whether to put up with trying to find a suitable seat without my neighbours somewhere else, or whether this is the final straw and it's time to give up, after decades.
  13. Brooks ..... people say he's talented and he is highly rated, but he just hasn't delivered for us. Martin said he wanted a left footed right winger who'd come in from wide and shoot on goal. I don't recall him doing that once? He just seem to wander into the middle then look lost. All his signing seems to have done is push Adam Armstrong on to the left wing and squeeze Fraser/Edozie/SAA out of the team. He' ok, but really, is he better than all of those 3?
  14. Fraser for for Brooks surely?
  15. Are we going for sone sort of record? Most chances missed in a game
  16. And me ....block 29. Think we've been royally screwed. I doubt we'll be a priority group for relocating, since our seats aren't actually been removed, but we'll have away fans just at the end of our row, only a few yards away, with all the abuse and noise that implies. So it will be a completelydifferent experience. Had my time with all that when I was young. Now I go to watch football, not fans.
  17. Even more confused now! This sounds as if they're putting away fans in the Chapel, when they said before they'd be putting them in the family stand area of the Kingsland, next to the Chapel.
  18. Yes... and i think the club can decide whether to fold each seat up or down, so maybe the plan is to install all the Northam but to leave some as seats for part of the time, ie so there is some sitting available for away fans? (That's assuming the rather ambiguous announcement does mean they're being kept there for now.) I would have thought that would be a requirement? Then maybe return to the idea of moving the away fans later?
  19. Anybody know what this means? What away end? Are they just putting in safe standing where people are now?
  20. Jo Tessem seemed to think the booing etc distracted the players. They must have wondered what the ''you're getting sacked in the morning" and "you don't know what you're doing" chants were about, but even so, I can't see it really bothering them?
  21. Anybody heard any update on this plan? Was speaking to an ex-copper in one of the sections scheduled to become for away fans who's still convinced the police will veto it. But surely the club would have cleared with all the relevant authorities before going public? There's a lot of unhappy fans at our end of the Kingsland --- many of them ST holders who are wondering what we're supposed to do next season.
  22. Stephens is a reasonable CB at this level, but RM really needs to decide who our best 2 CBs are and just play them. Personally I'd go with JB and THB but not my choice. IMO though he can't keep playing all 3 with THB forced out to right back. Stephens tends to go marauding forward, so that THB has to come in off the wing to cover. That means we have no overlapping full back on the right wing ... a huge loss compared to when we have KWP or even Bree playing.
  23. Echo traffic news website just now is showing marine parade past the ground is shut still. Will affect routes to car parking etc, especially if Chapel Road shut as usual before match. So will have to allow extra time .
  24. I see the club message says they expect the usual road closures tomorrow. I presume that means only the usual? Anyone know if the road past the stadium (and therefore past the fire) is open normally yet?
  25. Will be smoke particles dropping on to the pitch and seats anyway I expect, even if no actual heat damage.
