  1. Isn't that what chainrai wants? Best option is someone gives him £18 million , at once or over a period of years on a 'hire purchase' arangement, but not likely. Second best option, he gets Fratton and sells it for development for as much as he can ...with no football club as tenant and therefore no planning constraint.
  2. "As a creditor we remain agnostic about the source of the solution and welcome an approach from any credible group that might finally lead to the club coming out of administration," added the Portpin source What a curious use of the word 'agnostic'. I know Shankly said football was more important than religion, but even so.
  3. This. The council would have to go public on changing the conditions, and it hasn't. So both the 'no other bid' and 'PPs direct to us' conditions must still apply Yet the trust keep saying their finances are sorted. Yeah, right.
  4. Well he was about to become the youngest ever player to appear for the England U-21s. I think a 17 year old lad is entitled to feel a bit upset about missing out on that.
  5. Sky also saying Harris is working with ex-Swansea chairman, Hamer. He led them into administration ,so is well experienced!
  6. Having seen that I am beginning to understand why the PST keep talking about a community club ...so they can provide him with 'care in the community'. What a sad, pathetic, man. I presume the crowd scenes were 'library pictures' from a few seasons ago? Not only did Fratton look quite full , but they seemed to be actually celebrating a goal at one point.

    Redknapp

"One corrupt bastard. There's only one corrupt bas-tard ...." Taking advice from Private Eye ......not of course that I would wish to imply that Mr Redknapp is in any way corrupt
  8. In respect of the sale of Fratton Park, this oversight has been beneficial to the Trust as they were able to take the time allowed to improve their bid. They are now in a position to own Fratton Park outright without relying on Robinson to buy it. Loans are in place from Portsmouth City Council and another source, at preferential rates, that will enable the club and the ground to be in the Trust’s ownership from the start. These loans have been factored into the business plan and will be paid off over two years. How can they claim even the council loan is in place, let alone this mysterious 'other source' one? The council made clear in public that their loan would only go ahead if various conditions were met, eg that the parachute payments would be paid to them directly to assure the loan .. conditions that the trust cannot meet.
  9. No , but x% of tackles = fouls, in reality. So if you make more tckles than anyone else, and indeed if your job is to break up the opposition's play in midfield, you are bound to get more bookings than other players.
  10. This. Most tackles in the whole premier league. Bound to have a fair few yellows therefore. (Just as long as he doesn't get silly ones by kicking the ball away etc....)
  11. Gobsmacking. Thanks for doing the sums. Absolute madness.
  12. Redknapp in early December...... New Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp claims he may not enter the transfer market in January if the club are still stranded at the foot of the Premier League. QPR remain in search of their first league win of the season after the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in Redknapp's first home game in charge. "If you are still adrift in January what is the point?" he said. "If that was the case I would advise the owners not to spend their money" Remind me again...where are QPR in the table? Why do owners let him do this? And I bet he and Rosie are getting some sort of 'commission' on every deal.
  13. I see the swear filter does not allow me to use the diminutive form of Richard. Rather spoilt my allusion to pantomime!
  14. Don't be silly -- **** Whittington and Andy Awful are doing a fantastic job. Now Maradona to sign as a player because he's heard so much about the passion of the fans -- that's a much more credible story!
  15. Not seen anything for the second half only, but looking at the difference between Sky's stats and the BBC's for the game as a whole, it makes you wonder if these figures mean anything at all anyway. BBC - 50% possession. Sky - 57% Saints
  16. Well , in the highly unlikely case that this was true, "when Laws successfully filed a restraining order against Adkins" would be amatter of public record . I have a suspicion that some journalist somewhere might just have mentioned this at some point!
  17. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/9836811/Portsmouth-Football-Club-court-case-set-to-be-adjourned-for-a-third-time.html I can't wait to see Neil Allen try and put a postive spin on that!
  18. Who knows? By the time anyone has finished looking that up, the team will have changed again anyway.
  19. Too right. I visit relatives in Manchester fairly often. Trying to come home after a Man u match is anightmare. Not only is the A56/A556 choc a block ,but even the M6 is busier than usual right down to near Stoke. How their fans get home to Surrey by bed time is beyond me
  20. In the old days you could usually find somewhere in Trafford Park, which is a massive industrial estate, but even then lots of the firms there were makng a few bob out of charging. You might be lucky if you go early enough and find a single yellow area, given it is an evening match. There are indeed spaces in or near the Lowry as Mikey says, but bear in mind there will be c 70,000 fans with the same idea. Personally I'd park near a station in a suburb, such as Sale, and go in on the Metro. I once did that on the old train line before it was converted to trams, wearing my scarf. Frankly I would not recommend that approach! Best station to get off at is Warwick Road.
  21. He would be wise to continue to 'not understand English' for quite a while yet. Using an interpreter gives him time to think of a diplomatic answer, or to pretend to misunderstand, or even to completely avoid, a tricky question. It gives him a protective layer between him and the media, especially if any hack is trying to trip him up. In fact I can think of a few occasions when I've dealt with the media, and would quite have liked an interpreter slowing me down, rather than shoooting my mouth off immediately!
  22. I was shocked when I realised that these are still being 'honoured' this season. Surely the current club is a different legal entity to the one that sold Westwood and his chums their lifelong season tickets? Why does PFC 2011(?) accept tickets issued by PFC 1990 or whatever version of the club it was that existed when they sold these tickets? It's a different business.
  23. It would only be cannibalism if they ate it. The origin of the term suggests other uses
  24. The latter. Just to set a date. Nothing to see here.
  25. Used to live near Wigan many years ago, when they were a 3th or 4th division club with a ground that made Fratton Park look like Wembley. Hard to adjust to them being a fairly well-established premier league club (Well, up to this year of course!) Wigan is historically a rubgy league town, not a football one, and only a small place anyway with lots of other football clubs locally competing for fans. If ever there was a genuine case of "your ground's too big for you", it's Wigan.
