Even the commentator is saying 'would have put him on at half time. Mane has been poor today.'

Found a pub showing the game, but I am literally the only customer watching. Can't hear a thing. I presume Cork's gone off with an injury? Hope the formation works better than at the weekend!
-
Thanks. As you say, their schedule is out of date, but may be worth a try. Bloody freezing up here btw!

Am in The Lake District this week. I can find lots of pubs that show sky sports, but not so sure about BT. Does anyone know a pub in Bowness, or second choice Windermere, that will have the Arsenal game? thanks

" Ings funding project out of his own pocket" Premier League footballer in 'not a knob' shock! Good for him.

it doesn't upset me and you're entitled to your opinion. It's just that you happen to be completely wrong!

Pity they didn't show it on the big screen a few times at half time ;-) -
GUARDIAN: Sadio Mané leading the golden generation of Senegal
Ken Tone replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I thought it was talked about at the time, though Mané played it down a bit as a misunderstanding ..... But then so did Lallana! -
You just did! But you're right that he's not a bad lad. He hasn't been accused of sexual assault or drink driving etc like so many other 'top' footballers , but what he has shown himself to be is just another money- grabber. Fair enough ...it's his life and his career, but he can't seriously expect to have it both ways and pretend also to be loyal or grateful ,or to love Saints. Or to get a good reception when he returns.

But it wasn't "the fullness of time". It was relatively soon after AND what is more according to his quotes when he got to Liverpool, he was dreaming of leaving us to play for them when we played at Anfield, *only a few months* after his earlier 'stay for life' quote. He was always my favourite player . I rated him even in the seasons when other thought he was rubbish. He's still a really good player, but he's also now shown himself to be a two-faced ****.

I've never understood the negative attitude some on here have to Beattie. As a player he was good for us. As a person, I had no direct dealings with him, but the one person I know who did know him and his then girlfriend via their own teenaged daughter always spoke highly of him as "a nice young man".

Pellé and the rest haven't been poor. We're simply playing a team who are playing better than us this week.

So presumably Pochettino's badge is his 'Top Gear Fan Club Member' badge?
-
Ah. That makes more sense, both as a comment in itself, and as typical Sherwood bitterness too. Personally I really want to win this, not just because of Pochettino, but also because Spurs irritate immensely by their over-rating of themselves. Yes, they're an established PL club, not one of the real big boys any more. Definitely behind Chelsea and Arsenal in London, behind bloody Liverpool too, and nowhere near the 2 Manchester clubs in status. Overall comparable to clubs like Everton, Newcastle or Villa IMO ... Though admittedly better than Newcastle at the moment!

Helps him fill column space doesn't it? I mean one piece tipping is for relegation then another saying sorry = 2 easy bits of 'journalism' Wait it to see how we start the season before spouting usual drivel = no piece in paper = got to find some other drivel to write instead

It's a strange sort of democracy though, when the views of a mere 1.6 million people (the total yes vote) in part of the country appear to have caused major constitutional change to the other 50-60 million, who have had no say in the matter. It makes you wonder what would happen if there was a referendum for independence for England, leaving the 'rump' UK as Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales. What sort of promises would be made to stop a yes vote there?

Who is the real Ronald Koeman? - Sky Sports Article
Ken Tone replied to yellow&blue's topic in The Saints
I'm not sure that frites sauce ( fritesaus? - however it is spelled) is exactly the same as mayonnaise, if that is any comfort Bearsy. I think it is a tiny bit sweeter, in the form that you get from street vendors at least. But if you want weird, I knew a bloke who used to put mayonnaise on his fish and gravy on his chips, on the same plate, where the two would gradually meet and merge. Revolting! Anyway. Good to read the article about our Big Ron. Maybe we should club together and get some authentic fritesaus sent over for him? -
Seem to recall Beckham saying how much he disliked coming to the Dell, also because the crowd were right on top of you. At one stage I had a season ticket for a seat on the very front row. It was so close you could smell the embrocation as the players ran out. But nostalgia aside, the Dell was well past it by the time we moved, and far too small for a top division side.

There was someone collecting before the game as we walked down from the footbridge, and others by some of the turnstiles

Toby Alderweireld Signs on Season Loan - Official
Ken Tone replied to Aziz Yebda's topic in The Saints
Don't want to start an argument, but can anyone clarify for certain which of the interpretations of 'option to buy' is correct? Does it (a) just mean that the 2 clubs have agreed a fee in advance and the potential buying club can decide whether to go ahead IF the player agrees to terms etc, or (b) not only have the clubs agreed but also the player has agreed in advance and MUST sign if the buying club wants him? -
No offence mate, but this is a daft question till we've seen them play a few times.
-
That was my initial reaction too, but then I realised that in fact many of the players are away, and for example I think Koeman said that Mane wouldn't even come to the club (for the first time ever!) until early next week, so only 4 days or so before the next game. Still, that's the price we pay for signing internationals .

catchy, but it does conjure up a rather unpleasant mental image! "we've got Al de weireld in our team" is a little less pornographic!
