According to the media, the FA talks of Ward-Prowse as a future England captain. Various respected football figures rate him, eg Steve Bruce compared him to Beckham, and Hodgson has said he sees him playing for England one day. Maybe some of the moaners on here need to reconsider how good their judgment is? Just because he doesn't run like a headless chicken or tackle like Roy Keane, does not mean he isn't a top player in the making. He is our best passer of the ball already, and may develop into a really top player, or , yes maybe he won't , but at the age of 20, he looks pretty promising to me.

Thought Hugo Schecter was basically just the players' go-fer, and surely he's Jody Scheckter's son, so certainly not Scottish? -
Jack Stephens Signs Until 2019 & Season Long Loan to Boro
Ken Tone replied to Chez's topic in The Saints
] The Swindon youth player I know says that both were good, but Stephens was definitely the better of the two. Guess it's a question of what your base standard for good or dodgy is! -
This. Might turn out great. If not, it stays a one season loan. Seems good business to me. (As long as we really do have a guaranteed right to sign him permanently if he does do well, unlike Toby Arsehole.

In my experience, some IT genius will kindly tell you about various bits of software you can download to make it work on your iPad ... but it just isn't worth the fuss. I just use a PC/laptop instead.

which of course means "oh well played old man!"
-
playing quite well, but we need more shots op doel !

It will be interested no to see who does better next season ...... Fonte without Alderweireld, or Alderweireld without Fonte. My money's on Fonte.

I've been trying to use the telephone booking line. 10mins of muzak, then a recorded message saying all operators busy and it cuts you off. That's happened to me twice. I think demand for tickets must be pretty high, so am pleasantly surprised that the prices are low.

there could be quite a lot of shouting though! If what we hear abou the payment is correct.

Schneiderlin Joins Manchester United (Official)
Ken Tone replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
The Sunday Times article says he wants to work with Wenger, and would prefer to stay in the south .... hence his reservations about going to United. But clearly if Arsenal won't bid enough for him, then he'll end up at United anyway. -
Not to mention hoping they understand the difference in nuance between 'effectively use' and 'use effectively'
-
He's still only 20. He might fade, or falter, but there's also a chance he will yet develop into a full England international regular. One of the papers had an article on him recently, as the future England captain.
-
It's reasonable to think so isn't it? After all he was brought on as a sub for Lambert, as the central striker, quite a few times before his injury. It's a bit worrying that he isn't even mentioned as a striking option in that Echo article. He ought to be pushing for a regular place on the bench at least next season if he is fully recovered.
-
That's what the Sunday times article says.
-
Toby ...can't edit since my sub didn't go through yet again.
-
He only looked good because he was playing next to Fonte? And/or behind our midfield? Just another Lovren? The sunday times article is worrying. Says Paul Mitchell was much involved in recruiting him to us, and now in getting him to spurs, and worst of all claims that Tony himself says spurs are likely to sign him.

Fixtures out tomorrow - who will we get first game?
Ken Tone replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Thanks very much. **** easy for iPad , but loading it onto my blackberry defeated me .... And the two only sync *from* blackberry to iPad, not the other way round. I really miss carrier pigeons -
Fixtures out tomorrow - who will we get first game?
Ken Tone replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
Please someone help out an old git who still thinks even television is a bit modern. Last year I clocked in some whizzy link and it automatically put the fixtures into my electronic diaryon my phone. I've no idea where I got that from! Does anyone know where/when/if I can do the same this year? -
Thanks. Tough decision. I resent being forced to pay for something they led us into for free, and couldn't give give a bugger about the champions league. --- but do want to watch our games!
-
Has anyone got the details on this? At the moment I get BT sport 'free' as part of my BT internet package. But now they're saying I will need to pay £5 a month to get Champions league and Europa league, or opt out to "BT sport lite" . Ordinarily I'd say stuff it, but sod's law, here we are with Saints in the Europa league. Is there any detail that says they will show all our games?
-
Only just realised ... Second half u-20 vs Mexico. Live now on BT sport 1 if anyone's interested.
-
I wasn't actually being serious !

I've only seen Seager on line/TV , and you can get a false impression if you don't see the whole pitch during a game, but he looks to me very much a goal scorer .... bit like a Billy Sharp sort of player. Not that this means he won't be worth a place in a premier league team soon. Gallagher, however, looks a more all round player ... A target man , who can score and who has a fair bit of pace too. So personally I see him making it sooner.
