the thought of thousands of .saints fans walking around with VIRGIN plastered across their shirts is quite amusing!

Here we go again, just when I thought I understood it. I thought that if Liverpool win tonight, they go into the Champions league yes, but that then England would only get 2 Europa League places, so West Ham would miss out on a place?
-
It was a company that they contracted. Many of the functions of a big organisation like that will be sub-contracted, but the responsibility still lies with United. Why on earth didn't it occur to one of their staff that the scare might just be related to the training they'd arranged for this company to run 3 days earlier? I'm surprised there isn't any talk of a fine ..... and IMO there s a case for just awarding the game to Bournemouth.
-
The PA really is pathetic isn't it? No one round me even realised it was Dan Harding. And why on earth didn't they show pictures of the '76 team on the big screens whilst they were talking to them? What we saw in the Kingsland was the backs of some people in suits in the distance, whilst someone mumbled over the loudspeakers.

No price reduction for me and the wife in the so-called 'centre'. Trouble is, we fans are such mugs that the ordinary rules of business don't apply as they would if we were just customers. I expect we'll just pay again. Buggered if I'll spend on any extras though, like a shirt or refreshments at rip off prices, and even a programme is only a maybe now.

Yes but to quote the commentators, Clattenburg is "highly regarded" .... Just not by us fans!
-
Especially when he went back to Spirs to sign Kane !
-
This. We need a scorer, so wh no try ou own youngster, who is a scorer?
-
He's still only 21, and he's still developing. Can't understand why so many on here are determined to run him down.
-
Playing on the left again!
-
Whoever it is, I'd rather not be playing them for his first game in charge. Their players are bound to go all out, and the crowd ditto.
-
The ref wouldn't be human if he weren't affected by discovering he should have given 2 penalties .... Would be bound to affect his second half. In in fact has that just happened?!
-
serious question...... Do refs actually review their decisions at half time, either by looking at highlights or even just by discussing it with the linesmen?

Southampton U21 v Sunderland U21 - Match Thread
Ken Tone replied to Andy Durman's topic in The Saints
Had hoped to see Clasie get some game time .... Surprised he's not on the bench . -
That's "practising" by the way. (This post is brought to you by Glass Houses Productions Ltd.)
-
And of course the free kick had correctly then to be taken in their half .... Something their idiot player couldn't seem to understand
-
Quite ... Especially considering there were 2 or maybe even 3 world class saves from De Gea, each of which could instead have been an equalising or even winning goal against another keeper.
-
With Seager already showing he's back to fitness and form, I'd give him a slot on the bench , eg rather than Juanmi.
-
I imagine we we offered him say half the rest of his contract as a lump sum, so he could then sign on at a new club, I suspect for rather less money per week than we are paying him. Depending on the detaills of how much less per week at a new club etc, that might well mean he gets more overall, and be playing. But presumably it wasn't a good enough offer for him, so he decided to stay on with us, with to the end of his contract, or until we make a better pay-off offer, or his agent finds him a new club that will pay closer to his wage with us.
-
If we don't play Gazza, when does he get any match practice? He doesn't even play in the reserves/u-21s nowadays. It it must be quite an issue for reserve keepers, to keep 'sharp' without playing games.
-
These youngsters look pretty good. It's sad that there seems so little chance of them getting to play in the first team in the near future. I miss that from the lower leagues ... Seeing the young players come through. Seager for for example is a cracking goal scorer, but how likely is he to displace Pelle, JRod, Long, Mane , etc, if Juanmi can't get a game?

Luke Shaw suffers double leg fracture against PSV
Ken Tone replied to Singapore Saint's topic in The Saints
It's the risk of big injuries like this that makes it the sensible thing for young players to do, to move for big wages even if it is too soon in playing terms. Luke will be insured for much more now that he would have been at saints, and (God forbid) were this to be a career ending injury he'd be much better off with compensation based on his much bigger salary at Man U. -
1-1 now. Only 400 people watching on YouTube . Given some of the apparently obsessive types on here, I'm surprised there aren't more!
-
Wel it would be ... for us. But for him, it's better to get us to pay up a sizeable proportion of the rest of his contract, THEN go to another club on a free. (Where presumably he won't be able to con them out of such a big wage) So why should he agree to just go? It could cost us quite a bit to persuade him to leave.
