Damn silly comment. Is public tranport free then? And if you take your argument to its logical conclusion, why not just stay at home? K.

Another Insight into NC's decision making?
Ken Tone replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
My opinion is that Cortese as a banker has little or no experience of dealing directly with customers en masse. Unfortunately it appears he hasn't made use of others who do have such experience. K. -
Bloody hell. The gravel yard is where I have parked too. And they 'hope to get some letters out soon'! So as poor communiations as for the season tickets themselves. Customer service this isn't. K.

I am a parking season ticket holder. I have not been told anything about next (this!) 's year arrangements. Where did the OP get this informnation please? There's nothing on the OS that I can see. No one has written to me etc. K.

That's interesting. The last email I had from the club was in January, so they do have my address, yet I did not receive any ST renewal details by any means. Had I not kept an eye on this site and the OS I would know nothing about them. I wonder if I was just unlucky and overlooked. Did other ST-holders get an email reminder? K. PS Still no information about car parking season ticket btw

It's such a shame that the first African world cup has been ruined as an international television event by this. Just think how moving it would have been to hear 80,000 south African fans signing their anthem, Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika, during a game. K. PS BBC red button allows just-about-synchronised transmission of the radio 5 commentary, which seems to have the commentators' voices louder in relation to the background buzz, compared to the main tv commentary. It's marginally better IMO

Well and to be fair McDonald has been a great success in the SPL....leading scorer? By accounts at the time we only let him go because of concerns about his attitude , not his talent. Looking forward to the 'skills of Henry and speed of Theo'. Just hope that's not handball skills and speed when injured yet again. K.

It looks as if South Africa will be the first home nation ever to go out at the group stage of a World Cup, even though there have been some pretty rubbish home teams...arguably worse than S.Africa. Why is that? Maybe it's because there is no real home advantage when no one can bloody well tell who the crowd are supporting. The constant drone of these oversized kazoos gives as much 'support' or lack of it to the away team as it does to the home one. I realise that most of those saying yes to them are merely trolling, but even so, bring them into British football and I stop going. I could of course sit at home instead by a silent DVD of old Saints games with 2 smoke alarms and 3 alarm clocks going off around me to get the authentic football experience cheaper, but more likely I'll take up bowls ... it'll have more atmosphere! K. K.

Not only have they not written about STs and apparently will not be doing so, but there's been no information even on the web site about car parking ticket renewal. I know it's done by a different lot than the STs but why is that my concern? As a customer or a supporter whichever you prefer semantically, I surely ought to be reactive to the club's marketing -- not having to be proactive to find out what the hell is going on? K.

Well if this appears then I've finally managed to access the new forum via my blackberry. If anyone else is having problems switching off java in the blackberry browser settings seem to make the difference. Will also look at the alternative browsers others suggest. Thanks k. K. -

It's a fairly new blackberry curve actually, but I'll try changing the settings. Thanks K. -

I've now finally managed to log in on my blackberry ..just repeated attempts finally succeeded.. but it now refuses to get any further than the index list of posts. When I try to view any actual thread it says 'file too large to download'. This is a real downer Steve. The forum used to fill boring train journeys to and from London. So the fancy new look is actually a reduction in functional service. K. -
Lots of discussion on BBC and elsewhere Apparently there is no way to electronically tune the noise out. However they could of course choose to simply turn up the commentators' sound track in comparison to the stadium one. That would mean less background noise overall --still no way to hear any singing or cheering, so even less atmosphere. Seems to me though that TV broadcasters could offer a turned down background noise version via the red button so viewers could choose. Doesn't seem much to ask to offer a choice of commentary when during wimbledon etc you can choose which match to watch. K.

And if instead of logging in, I try to access the saintsweb web site as such rather than go straight to the forum, it tells me too large to download. K. -

On blackberry, log in screen comes up as if the name and password were all one line. Can type in user name but as soon as I attempt password it jumps back to my bookmarks folder. Still getting the time delay on typing this too btw. Nothing appears on screen for a good 30 secs. Very unnerving. K. -

Can't now log in on my blackberry. Anyone got a solution? Also on my pc, when typing in this quick reply box, there is a 30 second or so time delay between my typing and the letters apppearing on the page. K. -
How about sending back to own clubs all those players you had on loan but couldn't afford to pay? How about offering to cancel contracts of highly paid players thus enabling them to find other clubs on a free transfer? AA could have done that weeks ago during the season, thus saving money that the creditors could have had.

As far as I can gather it's a "tradition" that only developed in the late 1990's and really took off even more recently, so it's hardly a long-standing culutural issue and hardly colonialist to complain about it when they want to stage a world event. These are plastic 'trumpets', not some ancient traditional local instrument. If you want to put on an international event you have to decide what compromises you are or are not prepared to make to attract international money. If they want to make it really unattractive for just about every other country in the world to watch their event, then fair enough, that's up to them! Their sponsors and advertisers may have a view though. K.

I tell you what. Why don't the broadcasters digitally cut out the bloody racket from these oversized kazoos so we can actually hear anything else? It must be possible with modern technology. Then those who do like them can simply set up 3 or 4 alarm clocks to go off continuously in their living room next to the telly, to get the "authentic south african atmosphere". I normally watch all the world cup games I can without missing work. This time, after the first couple of games, I've stopped watching because of the bloody buzzing noise and consequent complete lack of atmosphere. You can't even tell which side the crowd is supporting! Expect I'll still turn on for the England games, but if ITV keep showing slow motion relays of Capello gesticulating while missing actual football, even that is in doubt. K.

Just as long as it's not blue and yellow, ie a yellow sash on a blue shirt/short. K.
-
Btw, if you hold the cursor over the picture on the OS, the name 'Norman' comes up for all players. Obviously a hint to our next signing? "Paul is dead bless him" (obscure cultural reference for oldies about conspiracy hint theories) It's been a long week K.
-
Lol. That explains the black socks then K.
-
Shirt in itself is ok but not with white shorts. Looks like school PE kit, as naff as the current England kit. With black shorts it would have been much better IMO. Still, shirt will look ok over a beer belly with jeans I suppose ;-) K.

Somebody tell me what day the first game is please. You'd think it would be easy to find on the 'net but no. K.
