  1. His month's loan will have run out last night. Adkins said he was confident it would be sorted put, but there's no news on the OS. Is he still with us? And if he is will he be allowed to play in the cup? Anyone know if he is training this morning?
  2. An increasing number of cars have 6 or more gears now, so we've clearly got a long way to go. How long before we can say we won, but were only playing in 5th gear?
  3. Thought their midfield in general was their strong point. They had some ball players there, and they kept going even when 4 down.
  4. Couldn't tell you. Can't always hear what the Northam is singing in my part of the Kingsland. Why don't these young people enunciate ? I too hate hearing 'going down' when the opposition is just a small club that has been fighting above its weight. Different matter if it is one of our 'friends' of course.
  5. LOL. Looked like he was wearing his older brother's kit too.
  6. First one a fluke meant as a cross IMO, but it put the idea into his head for the definitely deliberate second one. And yes all very quiet and downbeat near the end, partly because of subbing our two first choice strikers so some of the buzz went out of the game, and partly because as fans we've forgotten what to do when we're winning easily. Where was the last minute panic, hanging on desperately, that we're used to? Fair play to the tiny handful of Dagenham fans. Particularly enjoyed their response to the Northam's short burst of 'going down - going down' ... 'so are we - so are we'
  7. Ah but as H. L. Mencken said, "Why all the fuss about Shakespeare? After all, all he did was string together a load of really well known quotes"
  8. I can't say I'd even noticed him until you posted this, but now you've drawn attention to him.... The only thing I can see that he's posted that would cause me any concern is the peculiar one about a supposed court case over broken promises between Liebherr family and saints. That is a) worrying, but b) so far-fetched as to be ridiculous. It may well be that the Liebherr family will not now spend the sort of money that Markus himself might have done in future years. In fact I think that is very likely, since they do not appear to have the personal affection for the club that he did. However I can't see how that could lead to a court case, and certainly not one so soon. Has the will even yet gone through whatever the Swiss call probate? With the size (and international nature) of Markus's estate it can't be simple. Oh, and c) even if this worry has some basis in fact, there's bugger all I can do about it so why would it matter whether I ignore him or not?
  9. We haven't yet discussed their 8-8-4 formation Still, with them having 2 people in goal, we shouldn't be offside very often.
  10. Reading the article, why didn't he have much of a pre-season?
  11. Best, Charlton, etc.. seen them, but all modern fly-by-nights! When I was a little kid I was taken to see Stoke reserves v Chelsea reserves as my first ever pro football match. Why? Because a 50 year old Stanley Matthews was playing for Stoke. Mind you I can't remember a thing about it!
  12. Surely with the wage bill they are taking on, against all common sense and already breaking their promises about wage limits to creditors when they set up the cva, the most likely scenario is that they will default on the cva payments at some point in the next year or so. I believe that then leads to liquidation doesn't it?
  13. Wotton was under 21 at the start of the year?! I didn't realise. He hasn't worn well has he? Now Jaidi on the other hand, ....... oh and Richardson, ... and Bialkowski ....and Holmes....and Dickson .... Really it's a surprise the U-21 team is allowed out without a babysitter
  14. Also why do we keep calling this our U-21 team when the names on the match reports often include many well over 21?
  15. I just think they were over-confident about coming out of admin last Thursday and Cotterill jumped the gun, assuming there'd be a 'new' owner by Saturday.

    The 90's

Are the 90's over then? Blimey -- doesn't time fly. I still think of the 80's as recent! It'll be the new millenium before we know what's happening
  17. Reminds me a of a game I saw at Doncaster Rovers many years ago (Don't ask). Howling gale down the pitch. The Donny keeper kicked it out every time into the teeth of the gale, so the ball flew up into the air and was blown back pretty much into his penalty area every time. He was simply too thick to think to roll it out instead. Clearly at half time the manager had a go at him and asked why on earth he didn't roll it, because second half with the wind, he rolled it every bloody time!
  18. Only roughly once every 4 minutes. It became just a tad irritating ;-) What worries me is that Adkins is pretty saying the same thing on the OS. Why didnt he shout at them from the sidelines to change then?
  19. And STILL they talk about signing more players!!!! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Shotton-can-be-Pompey39s-right.6583087.jp Un-bloody-believable
  20. Quite . It is just nonsense isn't it. How can he say they will now not have enough money to pay wages? Even if the sale to Chainrai went through he wouldn't suddenly be pouring more money in. Why in God's name did he not get rid of more high wage earners and how on earth did anyone allow him to sign Lawrence and Kitson?
  21. I'm looking forward to Redknapp missing out on the England job because of his court case. The so-called expert commentators seem to have forgotten all about this. How could we possibly have a national manager with that hanging over him?
  22. This whole thing has just been mind-boggling. It is clear to anyone with half a brain that Pompey have continued to overspend whilst in administration (of course they can't afford Lawrence and Kitson) and that chainrai has been far too closely involved with the administrator. Does no one oversee administrators? Are they not regulated ?
  23. You are joking? If the professionals rated him, he'd have played for the first team by now. 17 first team appearances anywhere in 8 years is it? He's only in pro football because of his Dad. Of course I do have to say I've never seen him play a bad game. (Mind you I've never seen him play a good one either)
  24. This just goes to show how little stewards actually know, bless 'em. Please all remember this when someone posts one of those "a steward told me Ronaldo is about to sign for us" rumour.
  25. I remember being devastated when we sold him (for £7 million?) and said at the time "it may seem a lot of money now,but when he's playing regularly for england as the striker alongside shearer we'll regret it" Ah well, I was nearly right !
